I used to use ConqureCam. Been a fair few years though so I couldn't tell you what it supports anymore. But at the time it supported recording, stills, you can record to a HDD or upload to a website like this. I think it supported multiple devices, but not totally sure. It wasn't free but was inexpensive (about $12USD at the time).

The other vehicle needs to be insured and you're only given third party cover.

He is from the country that invented the disposable culture, "why fix something? Just buy new" is the war cry. Because they are so used to buying new, most skills have been lots so no doubt the guy he uses to "repair" wheels only has a few pots of liquid metal and half a dozen grades of wetdry paper.

Quote from doyal :I have been quoted £100 for the repair. With an extra £20 if the wheel is not straight.

Hoohumm... wheel only cost me £149 when new

But at £200 for a new one, it'll be cheaper and more than likely quicker for a refurb. Don't forget to shop around, you'll find a fair few highly recommended places on the intarwebnets, fire them all off an e-mail and after they give you a quote see if you can get a price matched or bettered else where.

£90.94 worth of diesel, or around 65 litres (139.9 a litre).

£4 worth of toll booths (£2 each way). I have to pay 50p more each way in my Escort Van because apparently vans do more damage to the road, yet a guy in a huge American style SUV only had to pay car fees. How is that fair?

That is repairable for sure, they'll clean off the paint to bare metal, re-straighten and then just weld in new metal and finish off nice and clean, once repainted you'll never know. You can get various fillers and other such rubbish, which will hold their own quite well, if you want to repair on the cheap. But the second some pressure is put on that area (say by fitting a tyre) snap, it pops off.

Galvanisation only holds back the rusting process for so long and by having mud/dirt/shit stuck under the arches all the time holding moisture against the metal, you're just encouraging rust. Most Ford guys will roll the lip and then seal it (silicone in along the edge of the lip to stop shit getting in and the a coat or two of standard underseal), purely because Ford use the shittiest grade steel available.

I should probably wax my van from time to time, make it more aerodynamic.

Do you take the extra 5-10 minutes when cleaning your car to do the lip on the wheel arches? It is a spot damn near everyone misses and results in the arches getting cancer early on in life. I have an old tooth brush I use to clean mine, though it is too late really as rust had already set in, it does slow down any extra development.

Quote from lukelfs :I didn't either. If he is 17 insurance even on a Corsa is going to be pretty high (£2,000+) as mine on a 106 1.1 is £4,000

That is because you live in Basra. Plus if you avoid standard first car cars, you save a bundle when you're a youth. I was paying 1,800 on a 2.0 Omega, sure it wasn't sporty or cool, but was comfy.

I was quoted 800 for a 1988 Defender 110 2.5TD at 21. And that was in S****horpe, which is a worse place to live than Basra.

Very nice wheels. Suit the car. Maybe be even more fitting on a Mk5 front end, but do like them.

He isn't, your phone just doesn't let you view the whole image.

Quote from lukelfs :Yeah fail on my part, paint both tow hooks red

I need to repaint both because the paint has been ripped off by use (the rear most importantly as it is growing surface rust) but was thinking black rather than red. Did toy with the idea of red, but everyone and their mum does that now.

Quote from Nadeo4441 :This is our family car, me driving

Nice Mk6, done any tweaks to it? And do you have a still of those wheels? They look pretty cool in motion.

Double dare you.

I'd actually need a tow bar to do that.

Do you mean am I going to paint the tow hook red, or are you asking if I'm going to fit an actual tow bar?

Quote from Bose321 :Incorrect; it makes you brake faster.

But braking faster means I can brake later, which means I go faster. :P

Quote from G!NhO :It also gives you 5hp extra, dyno-tested and Mother approved.

I actually want to change it because it is mother approved, she saw it and went on to say how much nicer the whole van looks.

New brakes. Red naturally, as it makes me go faster.

Quote from e2mustang :why dont u just plug the tyre? if they are not worn,i wouldnt buy new ones.
plug it . i use it almost everyday in the shop

For whatever reason it isn't done in the UK much anymore, not sure why because it is a cheap fix, I've got a scw in my RF Proxe, since it is near as makes no difference brand new it is getting plugged (once I've found a garage round here that does it), rather than replaced.

[Edit: My mistake, was thinking about normal plugs which require a tyre dismount to fit. Never seen string plugs before.]

Reminds me of the BBCs new program, young, rich and buy a house. "Oh no, I'm a millionaire heiress and can only afford a 1m apartment in London, what ever shall I do?" Seriously, who cares?

Typical BBC programming when Tories are in power though, everyone is suffering redundancy and pay cuts, so the Beeb start showing posh folks struggling to fine their perfect pad for under their 1m budget.

Quote from S14 DRIFT :Jokes about the DMF failure, surely you'd have noticed extra vibes.

Not always, if it goes gradually then yes, but if it was an instant failure (which I assume Jakg's was) you'd have no such issues.

Quote from Shotglass :im pretty sure you got it the wrong way round and the idea is that theyll tighten during braking where torques are much higher

Probably that, it is a long time since I did this in college so my memory is a bit fuzzy, I just know one side is reverse threaded on all large vehicles to help keep the nuts tight.

Quote from KiRmelius :Funny thing about that truck, tread on left side hub bolts is reversed, you have to turn it clockwise to remove. Took me a while until I figured it out

It is the same with all large vehicles (large vans and up). The reasoning behind it is as the vehicle goes forwards it'll tighten the bolts.
