The idea has it's pros and contras, but in the end the license system doesnt allow this, as you are effectively completely anonymous as soon as you switch to demo mode.
I dont think it would be very high in Scawen's priority list, even if it was there at all.
lfs.net isnt really meant to be a website one should visit 30 times a day. lfsworld and the forum are, though
lfs.net is just supposed to let users buy and download LFS, the actual "life" takes place in here, and on the servers of course
However, it's quite right that people could get the impression that there is nothing going on. The links to the Forum and lfsw cant be overlooked though
Well the blackscreen bug is still there in LFS, but in Vista it's imo something else, because in an earlier version, the zbuffer went nuts when changing the res. Vista is a completely bugridden piece of crap anyways
That's REALLY odd - is there no AA at all, or is there a bit left? Some AA versions using random points in the algorith might be the cause... The idea is to have a different AA each frame, so that it looks smooth for the eye in the end.
When using a basic setting like 4x, the AA should always work though.
I like it as its now, because it allows the user to see what is actually going on, not like in all the other "simulations" where the whole behaviour seems mostly random.
after clicking the multiplayer button, there is a small button onder the "Demo S1 S2" ones, where can can taggle using windowed mode or not. Try to change this.
Just went to tinyk's server and tested it. It's the maximum guest cars allowed x message, which you get when you try to add more and more AIs into the grid
erm you have never modelled anything have you?
specially not with a rather "rough" modeller like the lfs modeller, which shouldnt have all the handy features a 3dsmax offers.
Well it always saves the last used car, and when you join the server where the currently selected car (from hotlapping) is not allowed, it selects nothing.
So it's a feature
I dont know exactly what you mean (spectator tool?), but when we were racing lately (when I was racing lately :P ), it showed some message in lfs in french (grey font). Could try to find out what it was tomorrow, but I have really no clue what it was about, as my france knowledge consist of only one word or so
hehe yes I know you can change it using the config of course, but I noticed the dSRC server are in french because they bought them from a company in france. So I thought it might be nice to change it
Only interesting if you don't have complete access to all the server files of course.
Yet again one of the "magic bugs", which are no bugs
Im quite sure the pedals dont reach the maximum, or are not perfectly calibrated. Button control rate is another thing to check, depending on your version (might have to switch to keyboard to change is).
If you cant find the problem, start exchanging the wheels and test again.
I think it's really a good idea for fast racers if they dont have the time to work themselves through 20 slow cars until they can have a nice race with the fast guys at the front.
IF there is going to be some version for Linux, it will only be a dedicated server.
I don't believe there are enough linux users out there who would actually play LFS on linux. Linux users are rare, and the ones that also play on those linux machines dont really exist.
If you zoom in, you can even see a difference between certain versions from different manufacturers... rotated grig for example.
Im just wondering if 16x isnt actually 8xS
