Caved. I'm in for only one 30 min race, is that alright? Prefer it to be the first one then maybe chill and spec in the 2nd
My buddie spot is still empty and i accept anyone who speaks english lol. But you'll have to make do for 2nd race and find another partner to race with because my wrist taps out every half hour mark. Or just feel that 30 min will be just enough for you too.

Crafted some badges few days ago, got some kind of snow globes for that. Didn't know what that shit was until this new sale started. All in all, sold few of them for 13€ in 5 min time, including a foil for 5.55. High 5'ed myself

Hello programmers! It is by pure luck that i saw this thread, it being viewable from the main forum page with highlighted last post and name of the topic, so it intrigued me

While i have zero programing or insim knowledge i have sufficient Airio path check validation experience (which is the only real-time online lap verification widely used in LFS nowadays to my knowledge) to share my advice on the subject which i hope will help you make it better.
The guy who made airio, EQ Worry, among other features made the path checks for official and unofficial tracks. This was uber hard and tedious work because of having to put custom nodes all over each track, then test and re-test. Tedious stuff all in all but he did a great job. This was wanted because there was no easy way to check online top tables for 'legitimacy'. So that problem was solved, the new problem was having to memorize invisible 'legit' track on top of the real one because the nodes were not placed perfectly, following the track boundaries pixel perfect so to say. More then a few places by a few meters off. Highly irritating but hey better this than nothing.
Shorty after that painstakingly job being done Scawen trolled him by putting HLVC packets into insim negating the need for any nodes . Those packets are probably called IS_HLV, like MadCatX said, and what they do is check for wall collisions, more then two wheels on grass thingy (exactly the same as HLVC) and probably car touches, both official tracks or custom layouts, path file or no path file. But what they don't do is checking draft. For that we would need those nodes but at a much lesser accuracy resolution. And that is the whole deal - HLVC packets for everything but the draft covered.

Why those hlcv packets were not put into airio when they were released? Who knows. Another guy with his own server lapper put them few hours upon release. Few years later, seeing this initiative i had to post this. If the ball gets rolling i hear word that speed hacks might also be checked and invalidated. We live to see.

Using tweaked LFS you can only join tweaked servers safely. Joining regular servers may result in a CPW ban depending on tweak used. Enough of those and you may be banned for a longer duration from entire LFS (one month i think), if those count towards regular ban accumulation. Be careful.

What I would do in your place would be to download fresh LFS, install to another place and copy over those settings i wish to have from tweaked version. Such as setups, skins, screen resolution etc., but not the tweak eh. This way you keep the tweaked version and the regular one which would be better then messing with single version, then removing/adding tweaks

Yeah I'm sure in regarding the point i made. Fatties aren't even in the equation here. When was the last time you saw Danny de Vitto racing

Could a mod 'spin-off' all non-3D test patch posts please? Assuming that I'm right when i say I'm speaking on behalf of the test patch testers that it is getting increasingly harder to follow and respond to related 3D posts that are being cluttered with mostly crap.
XP support is here to stay for the time being thankfully. If you wish to share opinions about it, a different thread would be the place for it. I may have a go myself in there, but it's hard to type neck-deep in shit :goodvibes

Is your E-mail hacked or your LFS account?
E-mail: contact e-mail provider
LFS: contact developers
on either occasion i recommend you find a real person translator
You can also change your E-mai ... iated to your LFS account

On a pro level, racing is a sport for low weight drivers. Less height means less weight which is the most important base along with talent. You could have lots talent but if you're tall and consequently heavier you can forget pro level competition. Petrov being the exception because of money talks crap.
With that in mind, racing cars are designed for short guys as is our default guy in LFS: ~180 cm i believe. Ofcourse the view may look strange if you put a giraffe neck on him - because of specific car design.

Good memory
I prefer cabin view (or corvette uf1)! And I'm too old to test, my consistency varies, not a suitable test subject

I remember i did some laps with F-view before i invited you on the server last time, to ensure myself it supports my logic. Damn, I was so confident it would work. Oh well Good luck in your quest pal, i hope we meet online sometimes, but not in fbm, fuk that car

Remember me young Sith? Do you have the multiplayer replay of us from last year where i tired to explain why it is suboptimal way of driving with forces view?

I know what bothers you, i know how it feels not getting a straight answer, often insults instead, and i think i might provide an answer again.
I can start by answering immediately that the F-view will remain for some time if not forever. It's just that it is soooo convenient 'debug setup' feature for players that it would be a downgrade to remove it completely. There is the possibility of limiting its use for practice sessions or replays for example, removing it from competition sessions altogether. But to achieve that would require near consensus of the community that it is a bullshit method of driving in addition to it being potentially advantageous. I say potentially because there is one way i can think of it being advantageous but can't actually confirm because it would be extremely time consuming to test is and get accurate results from it. That is to simply drive both ways: lots laps in cabin, lots laps in F-mode, under most similar conditions. With many different people testing it, etc...

I know how advantageous it might look if you want to think it that way. Clear vision of the track, distance from the tire edge to the grass, etc. Taking advantage of every single pixel on the fly and what not. Pandering to such a way of driving to gain same advantage, to achieve level ground, is of course out of the question because it is bullshit. The need to 'set it right' arises.
But it takes some more experience and most of all thought to come to terms that it's not the case. The 'why' part is what i tried to explain back then. I hope to god you still have the fukin replay
In the end, explanations don't mean shit if they fail in practice. If that test could prove my logic wrong, that it is indeed an advantage, I would agree with you Sith. Toilet Paper

@ good intention Gav: opinions don't matter, arguments matter (in good intention m8 ). Which he did not receive, as far as i noted tho

Normally it's installed with LFS only when you tick one of those options in the installer. I believe it only adds one registry key to tie join link with LFS app.

Instead of installing LFS again go here:
http://www.lfs.net/?page=addons

and download LFS Associations Setup, run it then tie it to your desired LFS installation. It does the same thing as complete installation but without replacing any files, only registry update. Join link should work now.

I would download but not reinstall. Rather extract to another folder, un-ticking all options installer has to offer so that original LFs folder registry settings are unaffected. Name the new LFS folder something like 0.6E Default, then simply take any default file you need from there and copy it into your original LFS folder.
By reinstalling in the same place you will loose a lot of changes you made of your original LFS.

Some settings, like FOV (pov), are shared between all cars. Theres no way around that as far I'm aware of. There could be more that are shared but don't know which.
And theres those that are separate for each car, like custom view setting. Not sure if there are more tbh.

Ups, it's LFS State indeed. Not to be confused with other LFSStats application (which is also great btw)

Great Insim
Very customizable options, intuitive and useful Very good work on this app

Can it be done that it reads own PB from lfsw? Right now i have to make PB with LFSStats opened before it knows what my PB is.

1st link - sudden wheel turn under braking, going thru a corner
2nd - half throttle, speed decreasing, going thru a bumpy corner
3rd - rear wheels locked at turning point, front wheels turned wrong way
4th - braking hard on the apex, probably rear wheel locked
Not even going into setup differences, all these situations will produce same result in lfs, physics are already good enough to replicate those. Your best laptimes aren't yet fast enough to experience this on a regular basis. I dare to say it has happened to you before and you just forgot about it.
In XFG, put normal tires in the rear like those guys in the videos and experience oversteer extravaganza.

Although the thermal camera looks cool () and it is what it looks like, aka factual situation, the truth is that even the large difference in heat displayed on the video has negligible effect on grip performance and as such having the same display information in LFS's F9 instead the current one (i'm guessing for most of us had that idea crossed our minds when we saw the video) would be useless. I'm wondering how many think or know the same? It's highly counter-intuitive.

Fun fact: we already have the same display in LFS. As and addition to current F9 info: press F9, then press ctrl+shift and hold. Now you should see the actual surface temps behaving exactly the same as in the video. But it is not the default view. Why? -I'm guessing the same logic that's behind what i said before.

Had same symptoms with another program: ran normal first few times then stopped without reason. No system changes, no firewall changes, nothing...
So i tried most commonly suggested 'fix' for everything on win7... run the exe or the shortcut as administrator. If that somehow works then you can permanently set to run like that by changing it's compatibility option.
If that doesn't work then good luck with finding solution cause who knows what it might be but it's a high chance old pc isn't the culprit. I recommend smart google search. Don't focus on the particular program that's giving you problem but in general how that program behaves and include win7 in the search. You will probably have to skip first few result pages giving you run as admin routine

Oh yea, i also reinstalled my program but it still didn't ran, only admin thingy did it. In my case it's only one exe file whole program, but it does require registry access so i'm guessing that's why it needed admin (after it didn't, jeez win7).

There is one server where elderly folks drive: DeadMenRacing. They don't organize leagues that i know of but they have annual weekly race on thursdays i believe. Nice guys. Friendly, respectful, mature; you know, that sort of pedigree. One guy from DMR recently posted that he is 71 in anticipation of s3, and now you're 72.. that blows my mind, positively
He will probably read this too, straightening his wrinkles as he smiles while eagerly waiting to share his ww2 stories with someone his age. Respecto mundo to all oldies in lfs
