Quote from mutt107 :DICE also said they DON'T want it to feel like BF2, they wanted to create a new game, not bf2 repackaged.

Well then they shouldn't have slapped 'Battlefield 3" on the cover then. Battlefield 1942/Vietnam/2/2142 were all the same but different era's...

They look really strange lol..

The blocks they are holding don't look right either

Quote from mutt107 :#1 it is alpha

#2 DICE said the pc version is not a console port, the pc version is being ported to consoles.

I realise it's a alpha but I doubt it will be any better in the full release

Well then they suck at making a PC game then, it's all graphics tbh.. It's nothing like BF2..

Quote from Bose321 :That sounds bad, how come it feels so bad?

Well it doesn't help that my FPS is low, but it just feels sluggish and just not like a battlefield game should be like (Battlefield 2 etc. lol)

Things like you can't jump over things easily, it's like the animation has to be played before you can jump lol. Also the FOV is zoomed in like BC2 (but in BC2 you can change it) yet you can't change it in this game.

But it maybe because it's a console port

I also don't like how you have to launch the game through the web browser (and select your server)

Me too, but all I can say is I'm dissapointed with the game atm, feels nothing like Battlefield 2, even Bad Company 2 is better than this..

Quote from Jakg :Are you looking for evidential recording, or just good video clips?

If the latter, i'd probably mount it on the rear screen, looking at the interior of the car... I.E. something like this.

I would say this is a better mounting place,

Quote from amp88 :Snip.

I would say that the 1080p test and audio 2 are the best out of the lot

Sound is a lot clearer and natural, also the image quality looks good and its a smoother video

C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!

No really, what is the correct answer? Atm I've guessed it as A?

Edit -

Nelson - 2
Senna - 3
Mansell - 1
Prost - 0

A = 6

Damon - 2

Jenson - 1
Alonso - 1
Schu - 4
Lew - 2

C = 8

I'm unsure who some of the drivers are in B?

single 8800gt : 5528 X2 (if you could get 100% scaling) 1156
single GTX 560: 15097

see, you need evidence to support your claims, and as i have said before, stock clock e8400 could play crysis on ultra with a 5770

Well when I first played Crysis on my current setup I can remember only getting 25fps and less maxed out at 1920x1200, however I cannot remember if it was with SLI'd cards

For the top of your budget you would be looking at either of these,

Nvidia GTX 560 1GB

ATI HD 6870 1GB

If you are looking at the bottom of your budget then theres the Nvidia GTX 460, not sure about ATI though..

Scan through this review to see whats best, they are very similar though

Quote from anttt69 :@ Jack, nothing wrong with Hiper psu's. They are good quality & reliable.
Luke if your looking to sell your e8400 i'd be interested.

Mm I might sell it, how much would you be offering? Would you want the Motherboard and RAM too?

Quote from dadge :you'll find that with him m8. rather than just say "ok, i over exaggerated to get my point across" he'll just pipe on until the point has been lost completely. the point he originally made was that duel core systems = fail in a 2011 gaming world. my point was that i play 2011 games with a duel core. so rather than pull info out of my arse, i just relayed info from my current experience.

no need to:

CPU
Recommended: Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz/Athlon X2 4400+ or better
You Have: AMD Phenom(tm) II X2 550 Processor

oh i now know why my system will play Crysis. it was released nearly 4 years ago!! duel core systems weren't fail back then oh and while we're t it, did you have any luck finding that info to say that 2 8800's are better than one 460? dirt 3 looks really nice on dx11.....

So have you unlocked your CPU to quad core??

I have this motherboard availiable for use?

Well then it seems after doing abit of research people do say that there isnt much of an increase from 8800GT's in SLI vs a single GTX460

I wouldn't mind getting a Intel q9550 but they are damn expensive now lol

Otherwise it would mean I would have to buy a new motherboard, CPU and ram as they most likely wont accept DDR2?

Quote from Jakg :From memory, don't you have some Arctic POS PSU? If so, probably best to replace that first...

Was close, Atrix.

As I said before my old PSU failed and nothing was damaged , and that wasn't even a brand heh..

Quote from dadge :Although most cases would say to get a branded psu. I followed that rule of thumb and bought an OCZ psu it ticked all the boxes and was running great until one day there was a stench of fail in the air. The psu gave up the chase after 6 months usage. I then bought a more powerful non big name psu. It hasn't failed me yet (touch wood). So i would advise you that if you do need a psu, don't opt for one because of the name, but go for one that will comfortably do the job regardless of brand.

Yeah well my first PSU was some unbranded 600w which gave up after a year or two, this one is doing fine so far haha..

I've had to down clock to 3.8ghz as 4.25ghz was too unstable..

Quote from dadge :will your psu be able to cope with the added demand on it?

I should think so, its 700W, not sure of the brand but it isn't a non-named one lol

Quote from dadge :these newer GPUs take a lot more of the load so even if your cpu was a bottleneck, it wouldn't be as noticeable as it would have been a few years ago. so as your GPU is churning out the graphics, your cpu is still able to take care of background processes. you could even buy one 560 and then use your old GPU as a dedicated physx card. reducing load even further.

Yeah thats what I was going to do, well then I guess its the GTX 560 then,

thanks for the help all

Well there is no price difference between the GTX 460 and GTX 560?

http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/u ... IGVykWQ3BZWA==#pix-review

Otherwise I can get this but I may recieve a naff card

http://www.scan.co.uk/products ... 25mhz-336-cores-dvi-mhdmi

The 560 is cheaper than the 460 by 9p haha, although I'm thinking my CPU with bottleneck it?

Quote from R.Kolz :Don´t waste you money on a Phenom II X4 945 - that´s not even a decent upgrade, if you can´t OC. You need more graphics power, that´s it. I have a E8400/460amp myself.

Mmm Ok, well I'm still not sure wether to upgrade to a GTX 460 or get a new CPU lol..

Yeah but I think it will struggle when the next lot of games come out, as I said it can't play Crysis 2 at all lol..

Would this be any good?

AMD Phenom II X2 Dual Core 555 ... lack Edition (Socket AM3)

MSI 870A-G54 AMD 870 (Socket A ... d *WITH FREE MSI GRENADE*

Then to unlock that AMD to quad core using that motherboard?

£120 for both?

Or shall I just wait and get a six core?
