I have difficulty to browse Lfsworld on my phone. I guess I would need to double click on icons but that don't work on phone. At least on my phone double tap is zoom.
Login screen is OK though.
When using maps and flying it is very usual to rotate the maps, but that is not lfs related.
Anyway I would really enjoy to allow custom map on top or replacing the existing one for special layout. These maps already exists for main special layout and it would avoid casual racer to get lost too much.
Well 180Hz would remove stuttering for 60Hz monitor and 90Hz vs stuff.
As Multithreading I guess from very old discussion that this a big deal and not planned before tires.
Anyway keep up the good work Scawen. The realistic mirror are huge plus to my opinion and I hope you nail that tire physic!
I canceled my rift preorder for various reasons. Only way I have found to punish them for all the hiccups and political stuff I disagree with.
I still hope to play lfs in VR but it will be either with Gen 2 or with a second hand Gen 1 (which shold drop in price in June when most preorder should be filled). Vive being currently my first choice.
Not starting an argument here. Just thinking out loud.
On a steering wheel and normal setup (for exemple 540 degree rotation on the wheel) there is a physical limitation on how fast you can turn the wheel. It looks very hard to me to do more than 1080 deg/s. A limit at let's say 300rpm (or less that is 1800 deg/s) would be great for realism. I mean if you play on a game pad you can have such rates that are crazy fast and a real advantage for fast counter steer. Setting the wheel to 30 degrees lock to lock would be around as fast and it is not realistic either.
Limit the AI would also be good.
Would it be possible to implement a variable steering wheel angle.
I can set my current wheel and my old wheel to whatever steering angle. 360 450 540 720 900... Having the option to have the steering wheel angle linked (and equal) to the car real steering angle would be great. On Fanatec I could adapt my wheel angle with buttons and on OSW it is a fast change also. On OSW it is the best way to have strong steering limits.
Edit: in the past I was scripting (I lost the files) to have the wheel steering lock angle changed depending on the car plus a reminder message for me to manually go 1:1 https://www.lfs.net/forum/thread/77362
I am a bit worried. It was working great and sometimes was needed on exotic or touchy hardware. My Fanatec Handbrake was saved by the calibration. My fanatec pedals sometimes did not go back to 0 (think brake here)... Now I run a Open Software Wheel. The wheel is ok without calibrating but we are talking about home made stuff and it is sad to loose this kind of option. Maybe it is possible to do it through dxtweak or whatever but I don't know LFS tuning always did the job for me.
I had the same issue forever. No restart for new controllers is good start but this solution is a huge step forward. There might be one issue though. Like for exampme I have 6 controllers max. There is various possibility with four or whatever less than the max. I am sure you can get it right anyway.
I agree.
Anyway I think they chose this orientation because it is easier to fit centered in front of each eyes.
Going horizontal would obviously add fov but to my opinion it is more that they did not manage to do it properly. Eyes would not mainly look at screen center and so on. I am sure it is possible but not for this gen...
Mixed feeling here. Should I buy a rift would be to play lfs. I mean the rift is like my steering wheel. It is hardware to me.
I will keep me informed before placing an order. Seeing similar bullshit for the Vive is not cool either.
I sold my track ir. I liked it but I ended up playing without it... and by the way I don't like the idea of move your head and your eyes in opposite direction.
This onboarding process seems to be a pain especially being an asociation. However it is not written that you need to inboard to post. But maybe it is the case for the developper forum.
Anyway I don't mind much. It looks like valve did some stuff better than oculus but not everything!
Maybe you don't like the idea but if the vive was a free development sample then a $5 payment to end registration would not be a steal.
Currently there is a lot of independent game that deserve some support.
Absolute drift is relaxing to me. Or maybe you can just add credit to your account, this way you don't loose focus testing something else.
