Anybody seen the nra-website. There's a video with a guy wearing a baseballcap, a jeans-shirt and a tie on the homepage explaining how to use it. Probably to keep people from shooting at it.

Quote from Shotglass :truth is we havent seen anything solid yet and from what ive gathered we wont get to see anything solid unless we pay 20$ for one month which reminds me a lot of pyramid schemes, life changing seminars that require you to pay a small fee and the like

And the bad thing is, they will probably get away with it as there seem to be quite a few people who are obviously willing to buy without trying.

Quote : Painted in papaya orange in honour of the founder, Bruce McLaren, (...)

Would somebody care to explain what this exactly means? Bruce "The Papaya" McLaren?

Edit: Oh, nevermind. I guess I'm not too good at motorsports history.

On a different note: The source says, Hamilton will only get the car "if he wins the 2008 title, and McLaren is crowned constructors' champion." Dennis will probably sabotage Kovalainen and keep his 4$ Million.

Quote from ajp71 :(...) and presumably you'll have to keep subscribing to keep your account/license status, (...)

Absolutely no reason to presume that, as it has been confirmed by an iracing official that your account/license status will freeze if you don't subscribe. Everything you had before the break will be there waiting for you if you decide to come back.

This is not to say that I'm particularly fond of the pricing scheme as such. I'd rather have a piece of software on my harddisk that I can use whenever I feel like. And I WANT a free demo. Definitely. But I also think that 15$ is not all that much, tbh.

Just to make this clear: I'm not a Hamilton fan at all, really. He's just too slick for my liking. And I'm not an Alonso hater either. It's just that all you ever get to hear (or better: read) from him is whining, complaing or threatening his own team. And I don't believe that it's a media conspiracy. He's simply getting on my nerves.

Quote from Clownpaint :Was Schumi ever in the situation where Ferrari were more supportive of his teammate?

Was Alonso? As far as I remember, Alonso himself was the only source for that piece of information.

Personally, I don't think so. If you know how sports journalism works, you know that there's no such thing as an innocent statement regarding these things. There's always an intention behind everything you say. And I'm sure Alonso is enough of a pro to know how what he says will be received. So, it's a threat to Renault. And not his first one, tbh. He's said before that he'll be gone at the end of the season if the car is not compatible. Whether this is a wise strategy to put so much pressure on your own team or if it's detrimental to the athmosphere, I don't know, but it's certainly making Renault look sort of stupid in the public image.

Edit: that was to ATic Atac's post.

Not a very exciting race imho. But good to see a different car than a Ferrari or a McLaren set the fastest lap of the race. Maybe BMW will in fact be able to challenge the two for the title? I'm not sure how represantative Sepang is for the whole season, though, as there was a lot of talk about the new asphalt being rather unusual. According to Rosberg that's what made his car so shitty.

^^ Say's it all.

So you're saying it's alright to cruise around on the racing line, effectively preventing other drivers to qualify in front of you?

I think it's a fair decision and it will make the race even more interesting, I'm sure.

Heidfeld said on German TV he could have qualified 3rd or even 2nd if it hadn't been for the McLarens cruising around on the racing line. He seemed rather pissed, tbh, and I can understand that.

And I have to agree, the current qualifying system is stupid. I think if you let at least the last ten run as light as possible, it'll also make the race more interesting, as some will be better in qualifying than during the race, which should mean more overtaking, shoudln't it?

iracing is just around the corner, though. And depending on how long it really takes till release, he might just be able to save up enough money for a few months worth of "the service".

Quote from duke_toaster :Let's hope the driving standards from Mr Plato and Mr Neal are better this year.

I saw just one race of last season, but the way they played bumper cars was apalling.

Gotta love how they make absolutely no secret about their dislike for each other, though.

I can't tell you if you should or should not buy rfactor, nobody can, I guess. It's all about personal preference. And personally, I enjoy a couple of laps in rfactor every once in a while and feel the money spent has been worth it. I just like racing on tracks that exist in reality and I can drive on in real Life, like Nordschleife or Spa for example. Also, when using the realfeel plugin or at least leo's ffb-plugin, rfactor does feel quite good with the right mods. Namely Niels' C6 and several others to a certain extent. I usually don't race online, though. LFS is much better for me in that respect (although I seldomly race online in LFS either nowadays, tbh).

Definitely a good race by Bourdais, but the STR car is not all that fast, tbh. Unfortunately, I doubt we'll see him near the front of the field too often, apart from some freak-races maybe. In Melbourne his fastest lap was more than 2 seconds slower than Kovalainen's and still 1.5 seconds slower than that of Rosberg.

Yeah, it says so everywhere, but the question is whether it's true. I mean, it is slightly more embarassing to accidentally hit the pit limiter while punching the air out of joy to have passed Alonso one lap before race finish, than it is to hit the pit limiter while tearing off the visor layer.

Yep, watched it again. You're right, they are deccelerating at the same rate.

I guess it's mainly DCs fault then.

I don't know about the DC/Massa incident. It's really hard to tell if Massa would have been able to take the corner if DC hadn't been there. What strikes me is, that Massa was pretty far behind until DC hit the brakes. Does DC really have to brake that much earlier or was Massa very, very late and would have ran wide?

Quote from srdsprinter :Hello, all I said is he had a solid error-free drive devoid of any form of adverse conditions.

It was a good showing for him, yes. Did it show that he's the greatest racecar driver in the world, I don't think so.

To this I agree. But I don't think it equals having the race handed to you. That's where we obviously disagree.

Hamilton put in a very solid performance. I don't think anyone could seriously doubt that. He qualified first, had a very good start and made absolutely no mistakes throughout the race as far as I could tell. So, in which way exactly was it handed to him?

Not that i particularly care, but Nico Rosberg's mother is German, he was born in Germany, grew up in Germany, Spain and Monaco, he's fluent in German, French, English and Italian, knows only little Finnish, claims he feels more German than Finnish and races under the German flag with a German racing license. I'd say that makes him much more German than Finnish (even though he does have both nationalities, afaik).
