my GTX650 GS 1GB does fine with the game, although my other specs are a lot better than my GFX, but I recently purchased this too, and it handles the game well.

You could barely keep any car straight on higher speed, they were so swingy at that point of the game as far as I remember. LX8 is pretty fun though.

Quote from Funnybear :The LFS racing line was never right. Especially with some of the faster setups it actually put you off more than it put you right. Learn the tracks the mans way. No aids whatsoever. Drive it your way.

Well, even after thousands of laps on the same track it felt right just to turn it on and leave it like that. I know I didn't use the exact line or braking points, but somehow it made me feel comfortable and consistent. Can't really explain that. The thing that it's a constant line and not annoying arrows like in every other game makes it a lot more usable and non-distracting for the eye.

You really lightened it out that it is not a fanboy topic yet you are still doing the fanboy thing. You are talking about GFX card as an expense chained to the simulator. You need a GFX card to run any games on your PC. You buy it and you'll be able to run more than just Assetto Corsa for example... There are far better points to rant on than LFS running on 10 year old PCs and well, AC ran almost fine on my 7 year old PC, but I needed an upgrade anyway.

As others said rF2 has official content, official servers and actual developer support for that money. It's constantly developing at a slow rate, but not as slow as LFS though...

rF1 is still blasted with mods, ISI dropped it dead years ago so I'm not sure if it should be part of this topic when discussing sims cause I could talk about GPL and whatsoever here aswell.

iRacing is expensive indeed, but it gives, it really does... The computer requirements are pretty low so there should be no complaint about that, and the online service. Well, you really can't get better racing elsewhere at any point of the day. It's worth every penny for me currently, because it pushes my adrenaline to the point that I didn't feel in years.

Assetto Corsa, probably my favourite although I hate hotlapping. I can't wait for the multiplayer to pop up, it will be a blast for years on, especially with modding allowed.

There is GSC2013 to discuss aswell, can't really comment on that though.

Nah, that's the truth. I can drive as quick without it, but gives me a safe feeling when it's turned on. Btw, I just had to give a go for the E30 @ Silverstone, didn't have much time for it though. Gonna try again tomorrow.

Can you guys drive the Road Warrior series atm? Since the maintenace it says Purchase required for me, although I have the track and car too. Well, it's the last day of MX5 @ Bathurst right? Such a shame I missed that

Quote from Boris Lozac :In most cases it's counter-productive and not exactly ideal.. And also not every car uses the same line, does it change according to the car?

I dunno, I've been driving LFS exclusively with racing line, but I think I'm doing rather well without it in the rest of the simulators. Somehow I just felt like I needed that line in LFS, because it was well done and good pointer on most of the tracks.

Quote from Mysho :Actually if I had to drive serious race on this track I wouldn't know it without racing line too, I liked old Silverstone and never cough the fame of new Silverstone thus I avoided it where I could...

Agreed, the old Silverstone was my ALL time favourite track, despite everyone calling it boring. This new one just made it lose all the charm. It's not that many changes, but still too much to be as fun.

Yeah, that mod was WIP for more than half a year now. The models were done before AC was even released. Hungarians finally doing their best :P

Quote from R3DMAN :i paid £24 for LFS and i got a bunch of imaginary cars and 1 or 2 real ones, all fantasy tracks...

i paid £22 for AC and i got all real cars and all real tracks.. physics on par if not better than LFS and i get better sound..

so.. what was you saying again?

I don't want to talk about development because it's a sensitive topic on this forum, but well... you even get consistent and scheduled development for that price, too.

Quote from PMD9409 :Great track to lap on, but the racing isn't that great with it. Zandvoort, like Brands and other smaller tracks, are not ones to be in each and every season, especially every series. As an "entry" into the series, it isn't the purchase you want to make. In the future, however, I see no problems at all purchasing the track.

Thanks for clearing it up. I was indeed looking for the most important tracks to begin with as someone who wants to get one bit serious about the simulator. I guess I'm preparing my bank account and then I'll get the subscription next week, cause I have no time at this point for stuff like this.

Thanks a lot guys for summing it up I really apperciate it.

Btw, why is Zandvoort a Don't buy? Just curious.

Also, Caddy is only free for newcomers, but hence I'm not one, I didn't get it when subscribing the first time.

I am especially interested about the RUF, looks pretty fun to drive out there. What series are running it and what tracks are needed to stay at least half-competitive?

Also, the thing about checking my Class, I forgot to write my real name in case someone doesn't know it: Kristóf Kerekes.

Thanks in advance.

Hey there guys!

I've been wondering about starting iRacing over again, although I can't say that I dug myself so deep into it last time, I'm getting more and more hooked on, despite the bad comments about tire model and the RUF, it still interests me at some point. The thing mostly brining me back is that you can get quality "pick-up" racing at any point of the day. In other sims you really have to be dedicated to scheduled leagues and not even be sure about getting decent head-to head racing.

How much does it cost to build up a sort of Road "Career"? I'm mostly into GT racing, so I would of course love to participate in one of those leagues. I'm especially interested about the cars and tracks needed to run the season and have most out of it. Every time I think about it, it's the excessive ammoun of money needed to spend on content if I wanted to take it one bit serious. Can someone sum me up the costs of it?

P.S: I'm not sure if I left at C or D, if you have an active subscription, do you mind checking it for me? Thanks

Someone might not upload the video to YT due to copyright fears, and in that case if you upload a single copyrighted material, YT is bound to take down the whole chanel. As said above, I agree with seniecka, but with a no from me. Sounds like something to spend time on with no prize.

Quote from MINIz guy :My CPU is 1.83 GHZ stock. It is now at 2.8 GHz. I don't know how much more voltage I can add until I blow it up!

Well, your CPU is either a Core2Duo E6300 which is 1.86GHz stock or a Core2Pentium which I had, and clocks 2.8GHz at stock. I guess it is the later one.

Of course you'd prefer road cars over GT cars. You don't get the G-forces from simulators which would make it feel awesome as in real life, so driving them feels steril compared to the road cars which twitch every direction.

Don't feed the troll dude, it's not worth it. Let him play iceRacing if he's happy with that. I can enjoy my Assetto Corsa and be shut about it. The only thing I don't understand is this LLM dude bashing the netcode when it's not even released. I'm not sure if iR's netcode is so superior though.
