Quote from Jakg :look - this is TWICE you've shown you have NO knowledge of karting, so PLEASE just stfu about it.

I Kart, and yet i'm 15, and several members (Leifde springs to mind) have their own karts and their not in the 7-12 range.

Daxm..im a karter, but im 23... im OLD!
Luckily I have some tryouts in formula.. but due to life-issue, I give up

MOST lfs tracks are tarmac, and if you can simply prove to me in any LFS car that drifting is faster than gripping.. or simply get a WR with your drifting or sliding techiques, then I will learn how to drift.

Cmon, not only you're real-life racer, I am also one. The drifting technique you said you used in karting is not so called drifting, it's just power-sliding.

Quote from sinkoman :Does rev matching actually have any effect in LFS?

And what is the purpose of heel and toeing, in real life that is? Is it to rev match the dog teeth, or to rev match the clutch? Because I don't see how it'd help to rev match the dog teeth unless you actually double clutched whilst heel/toeing.

Heel-toeing is to match the output of the powerband of the gear. If the rev is dropped too low, the power will not be sufficient enough to exit the corner.

Quote from tommy10101 :basicaly, the turbo demo car (cant remember whats its called) has 220bhp per tonne or somthing like that yet it can run 13.6 at 108 mph 1/4 mile times. My dad has a kit car with 260bhp and it weighs less than a tonne (876kg) and that runs 13.8 at 101mph. Therefore, they have got it wrong. I just thought i would let everyone know

What mods do your dad's car have? Is it turbo-charged? Anyway, there are too many factors to affect the quarter mile time.

Quote from joshdifabio :Me, Misan and FiredUp are racing the FO8, .deFINe. is racing the FOX .

aww.. .deFINe. is racing for FOX... that means i am guaranteed that I can't get the championship. Anyway, I am missing the first and second round due to final exams Good luck , guys!
Reaction time

I'd like to ask if it is possible to have packet including the false-start reaction time for each racer?

I suppose most racers are using neutral gear, the engage 1st gear to start. Not much using handbrake to start? So if it is possible to record the reaction time for each racers at false-start?

Quote from .deFINe. :As someone who's interested in racing the league with a fox, i have to say that the points system doesn't exactly seem to reward being quick. Only getting 1p more for a win than for second place doesn't make me want to spend a lot of time practicing for the race ( for the tracks i'm unfamiliar with ), if I can get away with only losing a couple of points by finishing e.g. 4th instead of seriously going for the win. It's good you can drop results from your two weakest races, but i still feel that the championship might be decided more by disconnects and absence than actual racing. Also, such small point differences will encourage passive driving, as in, not risking your position by attempting to overtake etc.

Sorry to be complaining the first thing after registering

EDIT: You could still have an overall championship status by using, for example, a multiplier like 0.5 for all the fox points, and compare them to FO8 like that. Results should be rather similar, and you can still beat FO8 drivers in individual races as well as the combined championship

Hey josh, are you entering this event BTW? FOX or F08? :P Wanna have some racings with you ..haha

Quote from Speed Soro :I'd like to know if LFS is good as it is, cause if Scawen stop studing and working on the simulation, the logic tell me that this part of the game is ready.

Is it good at this stage?

Because for months and months I've heard that this bs of infinites resources has been necessary to make the game stronger, consistent and free of bugs.

In fact I can imagine that each time you filled a software with bs, it becomes weak, dangerous and unstable... ok, this is not the real fact with LFS, cause it is still a game with great stability, even being a DX8 based game in the ages of DX10...

But the big question is: is this the big simulator ever? I think that it is in the mind of the majority of this community, and maybe in the dev's heads too, cause I can't see nobody concerning when or how the things will be made to better perform a real simracing.

Where is the oil heating, brake waste, and water boiling?

Will people lose the engine when reducing from 6th to 2nd in a half second?

Will the aerodynamic be seriously calculated and performed?

Will we be able to step at 20 kmh on the grass without skid?

Will the cars stop flying 30m above when soft touch a wall or other car?

No, this is not thread "WHEN". I don't really want to know when. I just ask for a "WILL"...

All those questions that you have asked should be completed by S3 final. Just we don't when it will be released or finalized. LFS is definitely a very large project by ONLY three people at this moment.

Quote from sam1600 :I think we should have a staggered system of shaded flags. When a faster driver is approaching, but say they are over a kilometre away, you should get a sky blue flag. As they get closer, the flags get darker. This is the flag order system I propose:

Sky blue
Powder blue
Periwinkle
Dodger blue
Cornflower blue
Azure
International klein blue
Royal blue
Cobalt blue
Cerulean
Denim
Steel blue
Ultramarine
Sapphire
Dark blue
Indigo

I think should make the whole flag system much more informative and user friendly. Thoughts?

I bet that u're not serious, aren't you?
This is simulator for real-life racing, ever heard of this kind of system? It's your responsibility to be lapped safely or lap others safely. Ignore those idiots that don't respect blue flags(whatever yelling at others or being lapped)

Quote from sidi :Maybe the reason you had no reply was that most of the teams have already said 20/21 utc.

I could imagine it must have been a strain on some of you getting up that early in the last series and racing and if it was the other way around i doubt very much any of the euro teams would have attended.

Anyway i personally was out of BOTT when it moved to a saturday no matter what time it was being held but it's Fusion's series and i suppose you have to go with what suits your team best but maybe you should get the times sorted before asking for signups.

Good luck with the new season and although you done very well last time getting as many teams together as you did i think you will have an even bigger challenge this time

Arrow is changing the time because of Cyber team. You can probably view that from Cyber team forum.

http://www.cyber-racing.org/fo ... 7&st=0&#entry6777

No offense at all. I know that will be great to invite one of the best LFS teams to join this series. Anyway, it's kinda confusing for the 2nd division of BOTT, I think a qualification should be run before to determine what teams are going to participate in Div 1 and 2.

There are some great teams over there in Div. 2 recently if the rules do not change. Spdo team is one of them, while getting the 1st runner up in the LFS 24h race. If Arrow insists the subjective view of those teams that are being invited by Fusion Racing to join BOTT are gonna be participating in Div. A, then I think Div. B is meaningless. I watched many replays of BOTT as I kinda like this league, IMO there are racers that are not up to standard for Div. A. That is my own opinion, and I'm not referring any particular teams in the last BOTT season.

Well. Let's see

Filipe Massa practices at Armaroli Simulator

thursday, 13/3/2007
Fonte: Veja Magazine

To stand the physical stress of the tracks, every racer needs to have a good physical conditioning. He practices, daily, two hours of exercises aeróbicos and weight-training. When it is in Sao Paulo, it usually runs 10 kilometers in the Ibirapuera Park, less then 200 meters of the academy where he practice. Between the appliances that he uses, there is a simulator of direction developed in partnership with the Ferrari. The necessary strength to spin the steering wheel is similar to that of the Formula 1

Factory Phantom Racing 1st Year Anniversay!
keithano

We are pleased and proud to announce our first year anniversary of Factory Phantom Racing Team. We celebrated our first year anniversary birthday while having our 24h Kyoto GP Long Rev Run. Steve and Chadreed started Factory Phantom Racing a year ago which was a very small team at that time. Later on, ALDI and Yankman joined FPR, they added a lot of motivation to the team. Now, we grow our way up to a developed team, we're not the best. However, we are proud of ourselves. Not only with the achievements in different leagues (Mainly OWRL and LFSCAR), but also our team members are self-motivated and very nice. We have Nuked and Smokey, of whom both are great master skinners. We have Chris, Paddi, Lordblaster who are some very fast, clean and nice racers. Being favored open-wheeler cars in this year, we are now expanding our team to different leagues and cars, like participating the 24h race. We have done our best and achieved a very good result. The most important part is the inter-cooperation and communication of our team is a huge success.

We would like to thank you all the racers that we have nicely raced with, also all the league organizers that have countlessly inputted their effort. Last but not least, we'd like to express our special thankfulness to our friend-team: ELR. Throughout this year, we have shared our sets with each other and also have had very nice races between us. We'd also like to say thank you to the OWRL admins, of which we're growing up in this league.

Here is our team members
