Is it? I thought licenses are handled automatically nowadays?
And I believe it's mainly done by Geraldine now.
So yeah anyway send a pm or email and I'm sure it will be handled efficiently.

Quote from Electric Eye :sometimes people have more important things to buy than pay for games

That's something completely different than "can't buy" isn't it. If people can pay the important things, they can pay for less important things...later. Spending money is about setting priorities, for everyone. So don't give me the "poor demo people that can't afford it" crap first.

Quote :I wonder what would have happened if everyone loved the new BMW in demo, you would cry about demo racers getting a new faster car?

You're missing the point. The general opinion is that LFS needed to put a different type of car in the demo to give a better impression of LFS to potential buyers. This is not about wanting to piss off demoplayers, it's about providing a better (more complete and varied) DEMONSTRATION of the full product.

Also, people don't get annoyed by whining demo players because of what they get or don't get, it's about the attitude. To me, this annoyance isn't limited to LFS alone. I hate it when all people can do is take, take, take, and still complain about the things they don't have. Everybody wants to have at least the same as their neighbour and everybody just is obsessed with materialistic things. The people that complain about this are often times the people that can't be bothered to get off their arse and do something about, all they can do is complain and putting the blame with everybody but themselves. It seems to be the way a lot of people go by in life these days.

Quote from Electric Eye :Ever the idea of people not being able to buy s2 came to your head not everyone lives in usa or uk.

The question you need to ask yourself about that is: is that LFS' problem, and does that mean LFS should somehow feel sorry for those people and accomodate them? A computer game is a luxury product. If you can't get it, that's though, in that case be GLAD and THANKFUL that what you CAN get is given to you for FREE. This isn't some sort of philanthropic undertaking. Instead of whining and bitching on a forum how you can't get more than what you are already given, get off your arse and use the energy you're wasting on that and do something about it.

If you want something bad enough, you will find ways to get it. Money certainly can't be an issue. There's always stuff you can do to get some, whether you're a kid or an adult.

Oh, and nationality doesn't have anything to do with it. Do you think there are no poor people in rich countries? Do you think there are no rich people in poor countries? Nationality doesn't tell you anything and should not be used as an excuse for anything.

Well, your post is constructive and some thought went into it, so I don't think anyone will hold that against you. It's all in how you bring forth your opinion

One thing I have been wondering about and honestly been surprised about is how many people seem to rely on the speedometer, wether it be analogue or digital, to enter/exit corners. I'm not saying it's wrong or anything (maybe I'm the weird one here for not doing it), but I actually rarely look at my speedometer and rely more on "feel" and gearing.

I fear the discussion about the speedometer will not lead to any conclusion soon. One will say it's more realistic because road cars rarely have digital speedometers, others will say in real life you can buy kits for it, others will not even care.
I do suspect however that the upcoming interior updates will be/are used to better accomodate both sides and adress issues. It's true in some cars the digital speedometers are hard to read, besides there are more problems with the dashboard in several cars (I can't even see my gear indicator in the MRT, which I find way more of a problem).
So I think issues with readability will be adressed in the next update. The GTR's will have proper GTR interiors and the road cars will be updated as well. I'm sure some of the discussion about this subject will be taken into consideration.

Quote from dutch_NL :i got many problems with the patch
and wants the xrt back.
and i can't shift now and if i give gas it just don't work.
so the patch sucks.

No, you can't shift properly, that's not a problem of the patch.
And the XRT isn't gone, it's just not in the demo anymore.

The setups have been moved and renamed. This patch contains physics improvements so the setups from your previous version should be revised anyway. Yet you can still move them to the right place. A way to automate this: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=34784

After every major update you will have to unlock again, that's normal.

What do you not understand about the concept "demonstration"

If you want the XRT so badly, get S2, it's really that simple.
You have absolutely no right whatsoever about something you get for FREE.
Making complaining threads about is NOT going to change anything.

WTF? Cruel? Is this your life of something? Tell me, how many other demos have you played that give you so much for nothing?
And why exactly wouldn't you be able to buy a license?

1.4You must be aware that we can alter any aspect of LFS as we see fit. Improvements, fixes and/or changes made to the game, are to be expected.

Quote from Fat-Alfie :I'm a 35 year-old occasional player. I use a gamepad for convenience, and I don't want to spend that much money on a wheel. This new patch has made it almost impossible for me to play; it's not practical to reduce the revs for each and every gear change using a joypad, and all the fun has gone for me.

Before patch y I was able to finish a job (I'm a graphic designer who works from home), start up LFS and enjoy a 10-lap race against AIs just to rest my brain from working. This was the reason I bought S2. I can no longer do this. If it's suposed to be a pure simulator why have AI drivers? They are artificial. Surely this game should be a balance of reality and accessibility. Not everyone uses a wheel and I strongly feel that provisions should be made for non-wheel users.

Lastly, is it possible for me to revert back to the previous patch?

Quote from lfs.net :"LFS S2 is a serious racing simulator. No arcade modes, no steering aids - YOU have to do the driving. It is therefore highly recommended to drive the sim with a steering wheel, because even though you can use keyboard and/or mouse, a wheel is what you use in a real car, so a wheel should be used in a serious racing simulator. Especially when going online, where fast reactions are required."

I'm not saying you HAVE to get a wheel, you are ofcourse free to choose whatever control method you choose. But imo you're putting the problem with the patch, while it is the other way around. LFS was always meant to be a serious racing simulator, so I don't see how this has anything to do with accessibility. Surely controller choice should not determine where LFS needs to go and hold back it's progress. If you use lfs as just a quick game to relax, I can't help but think you would be better of playing a more arcade type racing game.

is patch y blackwood the same distance - should i be aiming to get the same lap times as in ptach x?

it's a tad longer. Also depends on the car you're driving as some of the cars have ended up a tad slower too.
