Quote from P5YcHoM4N :My wallet seems to do the opposite of that, it turns large denominations into smaller ones, and some times it turns them all invisible.

It's a bug...mine has the same sort of problem

Honestly i dont get the point of a similar car.It can move just a person at a time, not the usual 5 of a tipical one.Once inside you'd be struggling to prevent you from having serious backache. What's more it's ugly...i dont understand why eco-friendly cars or this kind of metal box with 4 wheels should be this ugly...i mean does it improve fuel economy in anyway?
Prius docet...ugly car and it struggles to be more economical than an M3...

Quote from mcintyrej :You could always use the sequential?

When I used my DFP using the sequential shifter or the paddles never gained or lost me any time.

This is an alternative not a solution:shrugnothing against you eh...)
The fact is that the switch in the paddles seems to last for a very small amount of time, then dies and causes double shifting.
Thanks anyway hope i can have other suggestions as well from others.
DFP is driving me mad!

Im starting to have some serious issues with my dfp.Using the right paddle to upshift causes any car to go up 2 gears.I already tried to extent the minimum gear change time, but it had no effect.I know the microswitch is dying but i hope there's a way to "solve" this issue for a bit.I know its a recurrent problem so this might be useful for other players too...post your suggestions please

Quote from AbsolutMartini :Hi guys, i am since a month suffering with really bad fps on some moments, and because i am a computernoob i am not sure what the problem is.

This is my setup as i found it;

Manufacturer: Packard Bell NEC
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.50GHz
Memory: 1024MB RAM
Hard Drive: 80 GB
Video Card: RADEON 9200 LE Family (Microsoft Corporation)
Monitor: Plug en Play-monitor
Sound Card: C-Media Wave Device
Speakers/Headphones:
Keyboard: USB-hoofdhub
Mouse: USB-hoofdhub
Mouse Surface:
Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254)

Think that my videocard the biggest problem is, but what kind of card do you guys advice me to buy? Only thing i know is that i got a AGP slot, maximum budget is around the 100/150euro. Thanks in advance!

Video card is the bigger problem in that system.A Nvidia 7600GT agp would do fine for you...

Quote from Gekkibi :Now I am going to off-topic, but speaking of chatting:
Would it be a good option to block sending messages, instead you are admin (And you can't block admin messages even you are blocking others)? Of course, as a server option.

As you can see, I prefer optional settings over "restricted ones". The "wheel on left/right" thingie for example: Racers would like to change it so you can select it only once per license, but wouldn't it be good compromise if the server has option to decide that which side the wheel is (Meaning, if the "race is located on England, use the wheel on left" (Well, it happens on the internet... ))?

Chatting must be limited to a sorry or a smile, and nothing more,at least in race.I cant understand how can people race in 1st position and type an entire line of text without crashing into a wall.

Quote from Gekkibi :Agreed. Maybe I wrote that post without thinking. I have 39 degrees fever.

Face it...lfs has been widely available to everyone who has some spare money and a pc.Its unevitable that as soon as the game begins to become "popular" it gets filled with stupid idiots...that's part of its success,we cant do much about it...
On the other hand preventing those babies from playing isnt very correct. But if it ever has to be considered a manner to stop such childish behaviours,i'll suggest a sort of "fairness score",in which your fairness is reflected in a sort of way

Life is a good example of what "age"
means.Age is just how many jears have passed since you were born, nothing more.Is right that maybe some younger(and stupid) chaps may join and ruin the game, but we cant deny the access just because they're young...maybe Scawen should develop something to keep track of driver's behaviour in multyplayer and so showing his...well..."maturity" keeping in mind that it is just a problem of newcomers, because i really dont think experienced players feel the need to screw a race up.Strange argument i know, hope you have understood

Maybe the reason is another. Its just a matter of %.In the older days lfs was certainly less known among the internet,so the community was restricted to a fair and polite group of racers. Now thou,it has a wider diffusion over internet players so its natural that it is going to be polluted by youngsters who just love to set a server upside down...

Quote from woodie985 :I had the same problem with my dfp double upshifting. I solved it by resoldering where the microswitches connect to the circuit board, it's apparently a common problem. See this link for a picture http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/ ... =1922976&postcount=13

I'll give it a go...thanks for the advice matebtw im half aussie

Quote from [RF]-art555 :sorry, can't help you there, don't use scripts. I just mapped F9-F12 menus onto lower buttons through LFS settings, thats all.

Quote from [RF]-art555 :IF its a hardware problem, probably button is just worn a bit and can't "switch off" fast enough, try changing gearshift debounce parameter in the options, no idea in what direction tho because I haven't had such problems

Do you have a dfp?I need to assing functions to wheel buttons and i totally dont know how to do it...

Quote from [RF]-art555 :I sort of had similiar problem, but I quickly understood that I acidently switched on auto gears. I was pressing the pedal at the same time as the "ai gearbox" was that was causing double shift. Maybe that might be your problem?

Checked but it isnt on.Im starting to think its a hardwarerelated problem...

Lately my dfp is showing a little problem. When i shift up,sometimes it shifts 2 gears up and that's a bit annoying in races. Is this problem known to you?Has it got solutions?
Next thing while im here...i wanted to have a script to move some commands from the keyboard to the wheel.I dont understand how scripts work,so if anyone could help me i will be very happy...

Quote from Shotglass :anything below 8x supersampling looks nasty in lfs
i suppose its got something to do with the way theres a lot of high contrast poly edges at shallow angles on screen

So you are with me when i say i expected less drop in frames?

Quote from ORION :Just a little hint at the default mip bias settings:
On my computers, everything looks very pixelated then, almost impossible to look at. Im always using -1.00 for all mip values, and AF to make it look sharp again.
As I've seen a lot lfs newbies complaining about the flickering road specially on south city, some more economic default value might be nice?

-4.0 for the road is really hardcore (feels like a 60Hz CRT )

Same for me...i had to put everything on the left in bias...losing something like 20 fps just for that.

Quote from Scawen :How about with 4xAA? I would have thought 4xAA was really enough!

First of all,i never spoke to you directly...so because now i have the opportunity let me say that your work is really appreciated by me.
Now if i set AA4x i get about 40 more fps which is good. And i think it'll be enough for me with this video card.Given the fafct that lfs is much more cpu depending than gpu,i expected a minor impact on fps.Mine was just a reflection about 8xxx nvidia series which should be very competitive with filters activated, but probably its me requesting too much from this poor (yet overclocked) video card.Keep up the good work Scawen, now im looking forward for multicore support

Well...i just tested the Y14 and it works fine for AF.Then i cant compare driver settings and ingame settings for AA because it didnt work if activated by drivers. The question is...Is it normal that i have 75 fps with AA8x while i have about 200 with no AA?I know frames drop with those settings but i thought drop shouldn't be huge. The card is a 8600M GT(mobile card) and before you say it,activating AA on other games causes not such a huge drop in fps like in here.Maybe its just me...
