Can you run something like 83 fps or 57? At least that should make the screen tearing go away.

Oscillations of ffb can be an ffb filter issue. If your ffb filter is too high it basically starts cutting low frequency ffb signals which means you get these huge left right oscillations when going through turns. Too low and you get random oscillations, vibrations all the time. The filter is basically a low pass filter. The higher you set it the less ffb signals get through. Basically higher setting = low pass filter cutoff is at lower frequency and only signals with lower frequency get through.

First you lose small pebbles on the road and random shaking. Then you lose bumps. And after a while you lose the body movement too. So it is basically like a zombie virus. At 0% filter you basically get a car that feels like a zombie from the movie 28 days later. Super aggressive, outruns an average family sedan, straight to the jugular. At high filter you get more of the resident evil type slow lumbering ffb. After you go past certain limit you are into the blob territory. Big mushy movements of the wheel only responding to the sun and moon gravity.

Well backups is never a bad idea. As for the noise make sure it is the hard drive. I built a new computer half a year ago and first I thought the new hd was already broken becuase it made this clicking sound. Turns out it was one of the fans that soemtimes made a clicky sound exactly like a hd makes.

Yeah, I know. If the truck had used rectangular tires that would have not happened.

Yeah, I feel you. I still have not given a proper look into that 4wd beast. Other say I'm lazy but I prefer to think I'm busy!

People here are just so totally consumed by the waiting of the two new turns of westhill that there just is no more time and energy for some rfactor fanboi's icy spin generator Smile.

Thanks "henri" for that pm on the ac forums. It is almost emabarassing the inertias were so wrong in the closed beta version!

Oh, it is not properly released yet. It is kinda pre-release closed beta version now and I'm hoping to find any major bugs before the final official release. There have been a few so I'm delaying the release until tomorrow. And the version released tomorrow will have some bits that may make it online incompatible. One thing that i have not been able to solve is the cockpit brake bias. It goes further than the setup limits and I don't know where is the limits for that...

If you want you can post pretty much anything you want (videos, screenies) but be mindful that the ac people still don't have the car Smile. Don't share the car files though, I don't want to create situation where there are two versions of the car (the closed beta one you have and the one that will be released tomorrow)

Sorry about that. Drop the zipped car.ini into the data folder and it should be fixed Frown

e: just wanted to make it clear that the file attached is for the car cockpit camera. The file fixes the camera location which was wrong.

Model and physics all scratch made. Sounds are from kunos ferrari. Fmod looks scary so I'm not sure if I can do good enough job with the sounds so atm. I'm kinda not planning to do them...

No ffb in the 49? Why would it tear your arms apart? It has low grip radial tires, no downforce at all, just lift. In other words the steering should be relatively light and very communicative.

Lotus 49 is very fun. Some of the spa kerbs feel kinda broken (like on lots of tracks).

If that video was real the tape would just break.

You guys are lucky that it is even supported, this is what you would get if I was a sim developer

I'd add 5dof motion rig, replace the monitors with 4k virtual goggles and also add a requirement for valid driving license and another requirement for at least two full seasons of real racing experince at least national F3 level. But I would still force driving aids on you.

I think it is fair to say that the hidden aids for keyboard users is shitty move from kunos. If I want to turn off all aids but the game still forces you to use some aids then that's just plain wrong. That is what happens on consoles but should not happen on pc.

As for bashing keyboard users. You all, we all, started sim racing with keyboard. No point getting on your high horse. It is a valid complaint if the game forces aids on you no matter if you use a keyboard, violin or the pitch of your voice to control the car. It's still wrong to force aids on anyone.

So it is lonso/buttocks at mclaren for 2015. Magnusson out. I'm just wondering how can button stay motivated and want to drive for mclaren. Merc is going to win anything in 2015 and mclaren would be happy to improve from 5th to 4th or 3rd in constructors. But Merc leading and rbr 2nd it is hard to see what's there worth having in F1 in 2015 for buttocks. If the alternative was chance to drive for winning lemans team then I just don't understand it...

K, did some testing. There does seem to be some kind of aid for keyboard users that reduces your throttle to about 80% if you get lots of wheelspin. on a wheel there is no such aid or it is not shown in the pedal app. In both cases I had turned all aids off except autoclutch.

I tried my own jag and the 312t. On keyboard when doing a burnout from standing start or from 120kph the throttle is cut to 80% or so. Because it happens at higher speeds it is not the slow speed physics issue. With wheel and just autoclutch on the throttle pedal app showed no shehanigans.

It is known. Have I heard that somewhere. Yes, it was in that tv show about fantasy. You know, fantasy, in other words not real?

Video about the:
Quote from JackCY :the assistants hidden by Kunos in the game, notably they are from my experience a less aggressive version of TC, ABS that's 100% and can be seen on the Kunos pedals app too when they get applied.

Those things.

Spoiler - click to revealI still give you props for that got reference *nods*

Quote from JackCY :With AI, 23 opponents, maximum difficulty, easy and CPU is around 60-65% total usage, maximum single core usage around 80-85%. Comparing to playing online I don't see a difference when using AI in terms of CPU usage.

---

So far I have renamed it to Arcade Corsa until they remove the hidden assistants that probably still can't be turned off If anyone knows how let me know pls. I'm not talking about the user assistants that can be setup in the launcher but the assistants hidden by Kunos in the game, notably they are from my experience a less aggressive version of TC, ABS that's 100% and can be seen on the Kunos pedals app too when they get applied. But also it seems to me sometimes there is a hidden SC as well. Maybe these hidden assistants don't get used when using a wheel/gamepad/some other controller but they are 100% there when using a keyboard and mouse. Disappointed, AC = NFS As said before even easier to drive than rFactor.
I hope they allow us to turn these hidden assistant off soon.

Until then, it's still only LFS and probably rFactor that can turn all assistants off.

If you can show it/prove on a video then make a video about it. Even better, you can compare your "video evidence" to telemetry to show there is a difference. Just go do it. Shoo, off you go. Videos making nomnomnom!
