Really, really not bat at all!
Nothing Else Matters was just epic (love that song!), and a +1 to John Petrucci's Glasgow Kiss (try to do some Dream Theater's songs...)

I liked your live performance: the Canon Rock was very well played by you (lol at when you started to play behind your head ), the other guitarist and the drummer... I only found the bass player a lil' bit... still. I bet he hasn't started playing his instrument a long time ago... The guitarists were shredding and sweep-picking, and he just did quarter notes -crotchets- (I mean, this --> ). And in the last bit, when the scale changed, there was something wrong, I think...

All things considered, it wasn't bad at all! Keep rocking!!!

(Of course, I don't play neither the bass, nor the guitar, but I occasionally did when my band and I used to play IN my house, and they left their instruments there. God I loved to play the bass and the guitar! But I prefer my electronic keyboard )

Erm... Found some problems with alpha layers...

In the first screenshot, I was using the FZ5_targaALPHA.dds skin: as you can see, when you look through the fences, the skin just becomes transparent all of a sudden, and the part that you look normally is fine.
In the second one, the car was the UF1, the skin was the UF1_experimentAlpha.dds: this shadow bug can be seen with ALL the skins that use Alpha Layers.
The third one: as in the first one, the skin is transparent when the car is seen through fences.
The fourth one: the bug doesn't come up with the experimental skin only, it appears also with the Sunroof one.

Of course, the problem isn't with the skins, but with the alpha layers and how LFS uses them: the same problem that can be found when you see the tiresmoke through the windscreen...
So, I think I'm not using these skins until LFS isn't grown up enough to handle them well. Good try though

P.S. don't mind my use of LFSTweak, I was in SP mode and alone on the track

Quote from Shadowww :InSim version of tweak does not has LP.

Oh sorry, didn't know that, my bad...

Stetty, have you opened the port in LFS by tiping "T" then "/insim 29999" in your LFS main screen? If you didn't, that'll do it...

I think the only problem you have is that you're a Demo user, if I remember correctly LFSTweak has got license protection... But I remember also I read somewhere that there is a version that can be used by everyone... Try to search better...
No problem for the English, having in mind how we study it at school here in Italy... Yours is ok: it isn't perfect, but it's understandable! And here there are lots of nice people, they don't complain for the use of this language, if you're wrong maybe they'll correct you, and if you wrote something that noone could understand, they politely ask if you could explain better!
However, I hope I was helpful, bye!!!
(Italiano)

I think the problem is in your LFS installation. I'm running Windows 7, and I haven't had any problem at all. Try reinstalling LFS, I think that it will do it...

Yeah, I found the thread I was talking about: it's Jakg's "Guide - How To Make LFS Look Better."

The first car-related game I've ever "bought" (no, not what you're thinking... it was bundled with my PC :razz was NFS III... and I'm really sorry I haven't used the first two games (too young ).
I loved it so much that I bought my first wheel, a gorgeous Logitech Wingman Formula :heartbeat and really ABUSED it .

I was a real NFS-fan -I bought NFS IV and I loved it, then NFS V and I loved it even more... Then, disaster. Hot Pursuit II. First, my graphic card wasn't powerful enough to run the game smoothly. I switched PC with my father, I played it half a day, then I went back to the older ones. Same for the Underground.
I kind of liked Underground 2, not because of the modding, but because you could drive your car for miles without passing two times on the same bit of tarmac...
Then, the last NFS I bought was Most Wanted. Not so bad... but worse than ALL the other games in the series until then.
I only tried the demo of the last 3... and after Undercover I swore I would never buy again a NFS.
I really hope the next one will return to the origins, of course I will try it when it's out, and if it's worth the price... I'll surely buy it.

Quote from Gurn :when i play LFS Z10 my fps is extremely low when i was working in win XP my fps was around 15 but now that i'm working within Vita my fps is around 3. And that is set at bare min.

:inq:

I had the same problem... In XP I had around 30fps, in Vista (and then Seven) no more than 10, sometimes 3/5.
Having a Nvidia, I downloaded nHancer and set it for the best performance/quality (there's an how-to somewhere... IIRC it was something like "How to make LFS look better"). The FPS went up a lot... But it wasn't the same as XP. So, in the properties of LFS, I turned on "Run as administrator" and "Disable all graphic themes" -something like that-. The FPS went up to 30, the same as XP. But it reached 120+fps when I did a little mod... I got rid of my 256mb "Nvidia GeForce 7500LE" and bought myself a "Palit Radeon HD4650 Super+ 1gb"

I'll write something more precise when I will be at the PC (iPhone now)...
But I have to ask you: specs of your PC? What's your graphic card?

Quote from S14 DRIFT :LUL you drove a Matiz! *point and laugh *

Not only I drove it once... I drive it everyday, 50km a day. And I'm happy. Very.

No, really, it's fine. Without paying attention it does 55/58mpg, it's surprisingly spacious (not in the boot obviously, but you can fit in it four grown up blokes without any problem at all -five if one of them is very skinny ). It even sounds good (3 cylinders 0.8liters FTW).
Of course, it's SLOW (0-60 in 19s , even more if you turn the A/C on) but it does its job.
Maybe I'm just saying this because it's the first car I've ever driven (bought in '99, I tried it the same year -and I was nine ), but I kind of like it.
In ten years it has done 40000mi, it goes like a charm... but we're going to change it within the year -my mother likes VERY much the new Ford Ka... then I will finally have MY Fiesta back

Quote from S14 DRIFT :Wasn't the Matiz the car that was, and I quote "very unstable", so much so infact that Autocar failed to give it a rating when they road tested it?!

I'd rather have a car people hate me for, then a car that hates me.. (i.e it flips over lulz )

I'd say it has VERY soft suspensions, but it isn't THAT unstable. Lots of understeer and a bit of lift-off oversteer if you REALLY go berserk in corners... but you just won't, it's a citycar.
I've been in some dangerous situations (i.e. the car in front of me stopped really hard): trying to avoid the accident I steered around the car in front of me. Result? ABS kicked in, the car rolled a lot, but stayed with all 4 wheels on the ground.

Yes I know, I drove a Matiz, but in my defense I should say it's my mum's.
Of course being her car, I drive it at school everyday, and she drives my new Fiesta. Very nice, isn't it?

Thank you, I'm glad you now have a better understanding of the 'Torques' . Although I prefer to make driveable engines, or try to recreate one, sometimes I like to go mad and make crazy engines as well. Traction quickly becomes a problem.
You should try to obtain a slightly older version of LFS and LFSTweak, I don't exactly remember which patch it was, but you were able to adjust all values of your tires, not just 0,185 wide, but 185/55/15 for example. Or of course the much more sensible 585/25/24.

You wouldn't believe it, but that V8 is one of the most driveable engines I've ever made .
Nice and smooth below 2500rpm, and above the BIG displacement is helped by a little turbo. It's a "double-face" (reversible if you want) engine, I like it a lot.
I surely will give a try to those "Fiesta" tweaks. BTW I have a Fiesta (the new model :tilt but it's the 1.2 82bhp one .
And thanks for the advice, I'll search if there still is that LFSTweak on the Internet... I'm very curious to try that

I'm sure that if he had the time to *finish* the patch, we would of course have our 0.6A. And Scawen has really the interest to public as soon as he can the VWS, because it means more money for him and the other devs...
But he didn't. Maybe for him is more important his private LIFE than his work?I think that if anyone could do this, he would have preferred to concentrate on his family.
My family and I once moved, and I've seen my father do all he could do for us.

And I've lived 19 years without the Scirocco, but I'm still alive! If it's out in half a month, it's ok. If it isn't, we can wait another week, a month, a year... Take your time. We will be ready when you're ready!

That was just the best post you could make!
I have figured by myself what *some* of the parameters do, but not all (i.e., I couldn't understand why on earth there were 2 "Torque"...) but now you've cleared that up for all of us!

I use the insim one, because you can change the revs too

I'm a big fan of V8s, so I once did a 10000cc turbo one, 600+bhp and LOTS of torque... that was fun 0-60mph in 3s and top speed of 230mph, probably more (haven't got enough space to test).
<goes to try that again>

In XP I've always had 40fps MAX (crappy video card, Nvidia Geforce 7500LE - 256 dedicated + up to 256 shared). In 7 I used to have up to 20 (!!!) fps, with drops at 5/6 fps... But I didn't remember that In XP I downloaded nHancer, so I did the same in 7 and all was fine. Upgraded to a Palit Radeon HD4650 1gb, now it is up to 140fps without vertical sync (60fps with it turned on) in Seven, 100 max in XP. So, hurrah to 7.

BTW, now I use ONLY 7: I wasn't so convinced about it until I tried it, now I've completely fallen in love with it.

Quote from S14 DRIFT :Fact.

Ok, noone can argue that. But, in most of the situations, it does; it's a side effect, if you want to call it like that.
For us, normally experienced drivers that can't cadence brake (or that can in theory, but in an emergency stop panic and press the pedal to the floor), a car with ABS is just better, because it lets you go around the obstacle AND it makes you stop faster. Full stop.

Quote from travbrad :You shouldn't need to unlock LFS again. At least I didn't. You can access your other hard drive/partition from Windows 7 and play LFS straight from there (since LFS can run straight from a folder).

Some games may have issues trying to run this way though, because they need registry entries and extra software to work.

I'm not so sure... I use now 7 as my default OS, but there was a moment when I continued to switch from XP to 7 (multi-boot) because It didn't conserve the unlock, so I played LFS in XP and used 7 for all the other things.
My situation: XP (C:/), 7 (D:/), External HD with LFS (Z:/).
I unlocked in XP months ago, then installed 7 and unlocked again, then I unlocked in XP and ran out of unlocks (lol). I waited until friday, then I unlocked in 7. I don't use XP from then

I had XP for a while, never switched to Vista (or not for long: installed it, after 5-10min got BSOD without any reason , formatted, installed XP again, all OK since then), but now I think I'm really near to find a substitute to my current OS.
I tried Seven 64bit, and whilst I had some problems with the sound card (not 7's fault though, it was that old, only-32bit compatible, piece of cr... that caused the problem ), it worked like a charm.
I'm using it now everyday, and the only small thing that is keeping me from a complete switch is LFS. I ran out of unlocks, so I'm waiting 'till friday...

I've never been a M$ fanboy, I'm more into Apple stuff, but this time I'm completely sold... I just loved the stability, the incredible speed of the thing, the new SuperBar and, of course, the graphics.

When it will be sold, I'm sure I will get it. Of course, unless I buy a new Mac in the process or try Linux, then... it's another story.

So maybe, because he could be a "repeat offender", let's say...
a) he used your PC
b) he cracked your LFS
c) he tweaked it

The only thing I would suggest is: do a clean install of LFS, then... set a password to your Windows account

@ hiroshima guy
All you just said was very sharable, I agree with most of the things you said... except for this one:
Quote from hiroshima guy :[snip]they aren't really dumbasses or idiots, some ppl are out of their means to pay for that. You may think 32 Euros or 24 quid is reasonale, YES. But for them it's either a big sum, or they have no way of buying it of various reasons, like no PayPal account, no credit card, etc...[snip]

With this I don't mean that I think EVERYONE in the world could easily pay 30+€ for a game... I mean, if I can't afford it, why crack it?

For example, I'd really like to drive a Lamborghini Murciélago LP640, and I can't afford it, but I don't do illegal things to drive one (like steal or joyride it).
It's a bit of an exaggeration, but IMO is quite right.

I can't buy a Lambo so I don't steal it; I can't buy S2, so I don't crack it.
