he wasnt all that fast at sears point, i figured that wouldnt be "his style" of track, i imagine he and tony will dominate watkins though.

All in all it wasnt a bad race, petty certainly added some color there in the first few minutes

"what the **** was that"

A really great suprise i noticed in X is that people are actually pulling off the start if they false start, not just adding to the T1 mess for no reason. Really suprised me to see people have the curtousy to do that

Quote from Fischfix :i also think aero damage will add the most to the game.

at the moment you can bend and twist your wings in any kind of direction and it does not effect the car speed at all.

if this is implemented, we will have MUCH more responsible driving

....well that was awkward

As far as i can tell the no reset thing has signifigantly helped racing, and to me the most important advancement to tone people down is aero damage, because once you lose downforce, you either pit or you wont be out there for all that long, it might create chaos at first, but eventually people will wise up and realize you cant win with no wings (since to me its the race cars that have the biggest "crashing" problem, not the street cars)

Even the SCCA has admitted it was a mistake, they wont be returning next season, they thought it was going to be a good idea, It didnt work out...

Quote from ORION :Those postcards look pretty cool, I guess DoN made the photos?
When I printed them with my printer, they looked like... gray in gray

that one with the raceabout would make a great tshirt, lfs logo on the front and that on the back

Quote from Hyperactive :I'd say that constantly flatshifting in road cars would probably do more damage to the clutch and to the gearbox and to the drivertrain as a whole. I have no idea about the power output change caused by the engine wear if flatshifting recklessly, I mean, how severe it might be. Road cars in generally are quite a bit more durable (than race cars) because the low engine tuning level. Burning the clutch and shredding the teeth of the gearbox cogs might be more probable in a road car than blowing the engine from flatshifting. Wouldn't be too surprized to see a broken axle as a result from aggressive driving like jumping over the kerbs with power on...

Race cars are a bit different though

i agree to that extent, for the road cars flatshifting isnt really even an option for a whole race, those transmissions are not sycronized enough to handle that kind of stress, and you'd be taking teeth off everytime.

Its only a matter of time though before we see more drivetrain damage models

Quote from tristancliffe :

Suggesting that NASCAR is even a vaguely close match is laughable - second rate technology, second rate cars, second rate drivers and tedious ovals do not, in my book, a great series make.

wow, way to descriminate against thousands of people

Quote from keiran :I'm pretty sure that is correct.

I'm sure the teams have to demonstrate to the FIA officials that there is a interuption of power between gear shifts.

knowing f1 teams, they will find a way to make it appear that way

Quote from Cue-Ball :Only the first episode has aired so far. I think that once this series gets going it will be pretty good. At the very least, it should be better than Forza Motorsport Challenge, since all the teams are starting off with the same car. None of this 500hp Corvette vs 280hp 350Z crap.

yeah that show really dissapointed me, it had a lot of potential that went nowhere

normal low end and cut off high end seems consistant with restrictors that i have seen, as with the vipers in scca they have a ton of low end, but on the high speed straights they have to carry long gears to keep revs down, beyond the fact high revs will destroy the engine
