well if we're goin crazy...:P

I'd like an offical car like we've all done with LFS tweak, awd, slick tires, like 800hp tons of downforce all that crazy stuff

*in a mini of course

Quote from snewham :best idea? wtf, that is easily the worst idea that's been mentioned.

Sarcasim son...it was sarcasim...:P

I'm patiently waiting for the rally expansion, I think their rally physics are already very good (other than ff) but once they expand on that I think it'll be hot stuff.

Quote from (SaM) :Well, to start with; LFS plays every explosion in the combustion chamber in the engine as a pop. The amount of throttle defines how loud and clear the pop is. The RPM define how much pops you hear per second. You can hear different sounds wich are different explosions. The engine sound also dependson the exhaust.
Thats the engine sound, you can also hear the turbo spin and release. (You can even hear the axles spin in their bearings and the wheels drive over the tarmac.)

GTR doesnt do any of that. It plays fairly good samples but you cant hear how much pressure you put onto your engine, wich gives you feedback to act to, like LFS does.
At first sight GTR sounds better but I prefer LFS's eventually because I think it's more important for me to hear the state of the engine.

thats a good point, in a game like nascar 2003 or GTR, you cant really hear the car struggle if you are say in the wrong gear, it just sounds like its a lower note, where as in lfs it sounds like it is under strain and you had better floor it or downshift asap :P Personaly i think the sound just needs some personality per car, more grunt for big displacement motors, more scream for high revers, and some backire/misfire (specially` in the race cars, i know with my when i had open exhaust you can really hear that sucker pop when you let the throttle off) but, this isnt really a major deal, im happy with it as long as its not annoying to the point of effecting game play, and its not that extreme to me

I like the idea of the XRGT GTR I enjoy the FOX because its like the F08's little brother, and its fun to sometimes let loose in somthing i dont have to be so on edge to drive, there really isnt anything like that for the GTR cars, the road cars come close but they dont have that "race car" feel to them, quite a different form of racing.

1989 Nissan 240sx, manual, just put in a new KA24e engine runs like a champ now

..its had a rough life (200k miles, rear end accident, was in junkyard for over 4 years..the list goes on), bought it for real cheap and am going for a restoration rather than what most people do to them, riceration haha.

Quote from detail :How much hp do those Champ Cars have? Is it possible at all to add 50 to say 700 hp (less than 10%) and get a significant advantage at a short straight?

Judging by watching the champ car races...yes, but they use it more to "catch up" than pass.

I use MPH because thats what my car has, and I dont want to like play LFS on kph for hours then hop in my car and be doing 100 thinking im only doing 60..mph just what im used to

Quote from Forbin :That doesn't quite make up for the awful cross-fading of the engine sounds which makes you cringe every time it switches samples. Unlike LFS, GTR uses samples instead of generating the sounds real-time. I'd be a lot more impressed if they got those kinds of sounds by generating them the way LFS does, and as a result without the aforementioned cross-fading, which, IMO, is cheating.

I don't really notice it...but that could be because i just love the way a ferrari sounds and my mind blocks it out haha

Quote from L(Oo)ney :Don't forget the sound. Thats the best part of the GTR/GPL games, they actually sound like they have an engine under the bonnet, and not a bunch of bees.

oh yes, how could i forget the sound! the sound of the ferarri 360M tearing through the track in GTR..oh..oh my i believe i just shat myself.

er..that doesnt sound kosher to me, but...just a maybe...a wonder...a...its never going to happen but im saying it anyway. how about adjustable boost in the turbo cars? even if its just 5psi or somthin lower side gets better fuel milage and no engine degradation throughout an event, high psi is faster, burns more fuel, engine wears out much faster...would just add another element to the game, but first overall engine degradation would have to be implemented Which would overall improve racing because it would possibly encourage people to care of their stuff a little more like in real life, but now im just getting way off topic so..i'll shut up.

Yes, its...much like GTR, but a bit watered down, the modeling though is stunning, if you mixed the physics and track modeling of LFS, with the car detail of GTR/GTL, you would have yourself a work of art.

Quote from inCogNito :but you will never see a formula car with analog gauges on digital readouts.

i don't care if the FZR has a climate control or wooden interieur, but i want a decent motec display or something similar.
The steering wheel could use an update as well.

This I have to agree with..

it would be nice but not a priority really, thats one form of GTR car, but if you look at other forms of racing (Speed GT per say) the interiors are not always gutted to that extent.

Yeah those are taking LFS cars and putting them in real life pretty much, that FZR picture is sweet.

Quote from loopingz :A bit of slipstream is also implemented.

actually the draft was in S1 as well, just not as noticible with the slower cars.

and for the "I wish" of the post, I wish the regular cars had the downforce modeled in the forces view..just to help with setups.

Quote from Frags :With more then 700 hotlaps to do, it would be nice with a "hotlap-table"
An X-axis with the cars and a Y-axis with the tracks...
This would make it more easy to see what hotlap is done and what is not.
The hotlaps could be shown in this table as the HL-time.

A way to upload hotlaps ingame would allso be nice...

I hate to be rude, but look like...2 threads down, but to both of you, its a good idea haha
