I can buy a new G25 for a little less that 240eur. You just have to know where to look (neither spain, nor portugal).

Probably something to do with the Z-buffer, but I'm guessing.

Quote from Monkeymike :Read Androids previous post - you have to push down with the G25 for rev, it doesn't replace 6th - it's in addition to it.

Yeah, the H-Shifter actually has 7 positions. Maybe it's time to read the G25 user manual

I have a G25 and have no problem at all with this. I use the H-shift for normal cars and the flappy-pedal-gearbox (courtesy of Jeremy Clarkson) for formula-like cars. Just assign the H-shifter positions to their respective gears in the options and then the flaps behind the wheel to the gear up (right lever) and gear down (left lever). The game will then automaticaly switch between the modes, depending on the type of vehicle you drive. Or you can choose manually to drive normal cars with the semi-auto gearbox if you wish to, but I don't do that.
The only problem with LFS+G25 is that if you want to use the sequential shifting on your H-shifter console, you have to reassign those gearstick positions to gear up and gear down, thus losing the flaps assingments. I just hope I am not overcomplicating things for you.

Quote from BlueFlame :It was the attitude in which it was portrayed, but. Lets just leave it.

BlueFlame is absolutely right. I appologise to Gunn for my childish post and for the attitude, I was having a really bad mood and was too lazy to control myself and not spread my bad mood around the forum. I guess we all should just forget about this "incident" and get back on topic.

Quote from aoun :have you tried LFS yet?

Actually no. Although it is already some half-year since I am S2 licensed and even downloaded the game, I still haven't played it. Is it worth playing? Haha, just kidding mate.

I gotta try 1nsane because in my earlier days, I remember that it was insane and I loved it, especially in multiplayer with my younger brother. I will also try other games that you have recommended, for which I am grateful to all of you guys

Does any of you remember the old Hungarian (correct me if I'm wrong) off-road racing game called Terep2? I think that 1nsane was made from this.

One of the best things about LFS is that it has no offline championship mode.

Oh please, don't be so conservative and purist. Why would you care what people do offline, in their privacy?

Anyway, I am not against that "feature" but why don't you just race a single race, then change the track and race again and repeat until you become completely retarded from it, Championship mode is not a bad suggestion, but it is as important as heated pedals.

TLDR the whole thread, but the demo is so popular and lots of people prefer staying demo just because it offers the very essence of LFS, which is not the cars, nor the tracks, but the physics. I wouldn't limit the content, I would limit the physics engine.

Thanks for the replies I think I will give 1nsane a try, but gotta find the DVD with it first. Are you sure that it supports steering wheels and pedals? I don't remember...

I tried Offroad Arena, but that was terrible experience. Apart from that, I've got a taste of installing the good old Monster Truck Madness, muhehehe

Hi everyone, I am looking for a decent off-road simulator. Possibly free roaming. I know that there is RBR and other rally games, but I am looking for something with more mud and dirt. Does anyone remember 1nsane? Something like that but with more realism and G25 support. Thanks

+1 for engine stalling. I even got myself RBR for that reason

This happens with my wheel when I connect the USB after I start the game. Just recalibrate it = move fully to the right and left. Do the same for the pedals. No need to recalibrate the shift stick though

Quote from Mithras :I can't say I'm bored with S2 yet, as I've only been licensed for just over a week, but to be honest, the one thing that's killing me (at least S2-wise) is the lack of actual good servers.. Yes, I like cruise servers, because when I have a rough day or something I don't have to worry about the pressure of real racing, but seriously, wtf is this? There's only a handful of racing servers open regardless of what time it is, and I'm getting tired of it..

Since my demo days, the lack of new, changing stuff, has been boring me. I've been playing since Patch U, and besides physics and graphics improvements, I haven't seen anything really worth getting super-duper-omg-addicted to LFS for. Yes, I love LFS, and to be honest, I play pretty much every single day, but with each passing day I my interest in it decreases little by little. I think it's time for an actual update, not just bug and physics fixes..

Maybe there should be ratings for servers. 1 to 5 stars for example, depending on player preference, race frequency, ping (global average) etc.

I played this a few moments ago and didn't like it too much. But I'd like to see it in the LFS engine, both car and track, could be fun

I visited a cruise server once. I was just driving around slowly to get used to my new G25. Never hit anyone, never said a rude word. I didn't get the chance because I was ban-voted out of the server in 3 minutes for no apparent reason. Never came back.

LFS definetly needs something like this

Quote from tristancliffe :...and you don't need a clutch to change gear in real life.

What do you mean by that? I bought a G25 wheel just because of the clutch pedal. Maybe you don't need it in GT cars and formulas, but you definetly need it in normal road cars (unless you're using automatic shifting, but who is?)
WRs never to be broken again?

I was wondering, what happens with the world records after a few patches are released? The clutch damage will be introduced for example, which means no more flat shifting. Better overall damage model will be here, which would mean more careful driving and generally, the whole thing (I don't want to call it a game) will be more realistic=more difficult(=more fun though). I presume that drivers will no longer be able to have such good lap times in the future. What do you think? Is this the end of breaking world records? Or should the WR table be reset?
