Then you have clearly chosen the wrong type of hosting. You need a VPS at worst...a dedicated server would be ideal, if you have the money.

Quote from PoVo :Pretty crappy that I can't update my insim anymore, because EXE uploading was blocked

Moving host soon

Too bad this was done

FYI...Unless you have a dedicated or virtual private server, most LFS server suppliers block uploading of EXE files because it's a security issue. My suggestion would be to send the EXE file (zip it first) with an explanation of the update to the Alien Serve admins and they can upload it for you after verifying it poses no securtiy issues. Standard procedure, IMHO.

Quote from PoVo :Just replace the LFS.exe and all files from a X10 dedicated host using FTP. Saves time for you and AlienServe

Chances are, if things are set up properly, that you cannot upload any executable files via FTP on a shared machine. Too many security risks.

Quote from pearcy_2k7 :And why do you think that was sherlock? So he could drive GTAL maybe? Give your head a shake, Ken is certainly good enough for CoRe GT2 and everyone knows it, they just didn't put him in because he wanted to go into GTAL against 3 year olds so he can actually get a win.

This was certainly not the case. We knew Ken was fast, but he didn't really have any experience in endurance racing, which we all know is more than just being able to drive consitantly for an hour at a time without crashing too much. He needed to get the other experience of learning to adapt to a setup that isn't necessarily his "ideal" setup and to work with another person on strategy, etc.

I do have to admit, though, that it's becoming clear that Ken will only drive this season in GTAL as he is showing the speed needed for MoE GT2.

Quote from ghostrider83 :.:RB:. Would like to extand our welcome to our newest member of our team. Some of you might know him as the clan leader of *=SAS=* Stars and Stripes Klan. He will also be given the rank of Admin with in our team.

Wait...didn't you change team names from *=SAS=* to ~~Rebel~Bloods~Motorsports~~ ??

So, you kicked this guy out as an admin of *=SAS=* , then brought him back (i.e. "newest") as an admin of ~~Rebel~Bloods~Motorsports~~? Some serious :juggle: going on here.

:wtf2:

BTW....that is officially my first post with more than 10 special characters.....

Also, is it a clan or a klan or a team?

The laptop has whatever I deem necessary, as he hasn't bought it yet.

Just to clarify, the whole point of this is not to extend the internet connection (which is crappy dial-up, btw) to his remote location. He basically wants to have access to his business files from both locations.

I assume you can still do that with a Wifi connection that has nothing to do with the Internet.

Yes, if you can't tell, I am networking illiterate.
Need some help for a wireless home network solution

OK, here's the situation:

My father runs a parts machining business on his home property. He runs his business (paperwork, billing, etc) from his home office via a desktop PC located in his house, while his machine shop is located in a permanent, yet separate building. He is frequently on the road doing quotes for new business and would like to be able to access his business software (Peachtree) via a laptop while out and then synch from his shop office when he returns.

His internet situation is rudimentary at best due to his rural location, so I don't consider that to be part of the solution. Also, I don't want to go to the trouble to install networking cables from his house to the shop, so the solution needs to be remote. I can spec out a laptop for him, but I need to know what I need to get for his laptop and desktop to create this wireless home network.

Thanks in advance for the advice!

This is awesome!

So, can I now call you:

[LLM]*=SAS=*.:RB:.[tL]GhostDevilRebelRider#56

??

Holy crap, that's even hard to say!

GhostDevilRebelImmaJokeRider is more like it. Seriously, you need to quit.

Are you also going to change your racer name to:

[LLM]*=SAS=*[tL] GhostDevilRider#56

??

Seriously, S3R has been around LFS for over three years. Have a little respect for people that do things the right way and choose a different name for this "clan".

Yeah, and there's this: "MANY NATIONS * ONE KLAN". That kind of precludes the use of "Stars and Stripes" since that is normally attributed to the US. But since your tL website talks about a countdown timer "on the left" that is actually located on the right, I wouldn't expect you would know (or understand) the thing about the name.

EDIT: I've added a little graphic to help out.

Having assisted the nGT team for the 16hrs race, I saw first hand how Mark handles himself. I must say, I was impressed with his driving and poise during some tense moments.

Rui has been a pleasure to talk to and based on my teammates' comments, he has been equally impressive in his driving.

Welcome to the CoRe LFS Division, Mark and Rui!

Welcome to the CoRe iRacing Division, Douglas and Blake!

Jonathan,

812 British pounds = 1,349.87 U.S. dollars (approx) = taxable income. Uncle Sam will be knocking on your door if you're not careful. Please consider this factor if you go through with this.

The path that scania posted in the second pic is the better way to do pit exit for FWD and pit entrance for REV, provided there is a barrier to separate the track from the pit lane from the moment you enter/exit to the actual pit line.

Crossing the bridge and coming back onto the track on the outside of that hairpin would take way too much time to be a pit lane and would deposit cars on to the racing line.
