Of course it's your fault you're the one that bloody slammed the door
But the glass in the other door broke...
I got the rank of Junior Sergeant in the Estonian Defence Forces.
Quote from G!NhO :But the glass in the other door broke...

Go explain that to the insurance company..
That's what i am thinking.

Care to shed some light on that? I looked up Estonian military ranks and all the NCO's make no sense what so ever...

Anyway, 2010 eh?

+ Started uni.
+ Got out of teh army.
+ Bought a car.
+ Got a roof over my head.
+ Somehow managed to get a perfect score in my programming exam(s)

- Spent a bit too much.
- Managed to fail the easiest math course there is
- Failed the army, 12 months and mustered out as a private
- Insulted people. This should be among the plusses now that I think about it.

Quote from S14 DRIFT :Here Physco, read this and weep...in my (chavvy) Corsa, my friend lost one of the headlight clips so when I came to fit my HID's they wouldn't stay in...so what I did was bodge it with gaffa tape for about a month, which worked quite well actually, and then when my friend fitted non genuine Vauxhall Corsa facelift lights (the angel eyes), I jacked his clips which were too big, slightly bent them so they sort of stayed in place and wrapped the whole thing in gaffa tape!

Im ashamed to admit I did the same... was fitting HID's in the ZT and the bastard clip sprung out into (what I thought) was the bumper. Spent *hours* trying to get it out but couldn't find it (and didnt yet have the confidence to remove the bumper) so I got a load of blue-tac and held it in with that... worked suprisingly well!

Couldn't source a new clip, and the local dealer wanted something stupid like £300 per side for a new headlight, so I bought some proper OEM Xenon lights... and when I took the old lights out I found the bastard clip was still sitting in the bottom!
Oh so it's not just Vauxhall that don't sell the clips seperately...

Is it normal to have a really itchy crotch? I keep seeing little guys in it, I assume they are keeping warm? Also, when I wee it smells like a battle wound. Do you think I should visit a doctor?
I achieved nothing.

You should. I can smell it from here.
I bought a motorbike and then i fell off my bicycle and broke a bone. Now i can't ride my motorbike.

Private is the lowest rank. Corporal (a good soldier or a NCO course failure) is next. Then it's Junior Sergeant (nooremseersant) which is the lowest NCO rank. It's nothing special really. I serve in the artillery and almost a quarter of the people are NCO's. I actually have only one person "directly under me" (a driver) because I'm not a squad leader-NCO but a specialist-NCO. I prefer it that way. Privates are fat, lazy and stupid and I only have one to worry about not a whole squad of 12 people.

Yea, i was a squadleader on army also (sort of), and i wouldn't recomment it to anyone, most of the squad was total pain in the arse (half of them russians who didn't wan't to understand a single estonian word) and lazy as hell.

umm, imo im not fat, lazy and stupid.. some people dont have chance to get higher when they are on 8 months duty like me.

Boohoo... I was doing basic training in the hottest summer of the last 50 years while you were sitting in the beach checking out women. Don't tell me about chances. I would gladly be a private for 8 months, having that carefree life of only doing what you're told and serving 3 months less.

But yes, not all privates are lazy and stupid, most are even alright but it only takes a few to hold everyone back.

JPeace, with all do respect, you don't know what you're talking about. It's national service here, not volunteer army which means 90% of people are there against their will and many will take any opportunity to slack, whinge and generally be a pain in the ass.
You're quite right about that IMO. If only there was someone with first hand experience...

Quote from hyntty :

Yep, regardless of country, privates tend to be lazy sobs. Though in my defence none of the people in my "division" got promoted anyway because the überlieutenant (there isn't a word for the rank in English, or a corresponding rank in British or American armies. It's one higher than a first lieutenant but below captain) hated us all.

You see, I was a driver for the Artillery NCO school. Basically the NCO-candidates who rightfully always did everything while me, the other driver, the three corporals and an officer cadet sat on our arses (mostly playing cards).

Some awesome 6 months that lasted. I actually enjoyed the last bit of my service
