The server is based in Australia (NSW). It is always open and someone is in there most of the time. There are 2 servers ProRacingRoom#1 and #2. #2 is used mostly for demo races. #1 isn't set up the enduro but can be if requested.

Even if you aren't interested in the enduro, you are still welcome to come by and have a race. The regular guys that race in there are clean racers and don't go out of their way to take you out if you cause an accident. We also run a TS server where you can come and have a chat.

The main rule the room has is no drifting.
Monthly Updates Please.

It seems like a lot of people have put their 2 cents in about an upgrade, most recently OBP55. I do agree with what he is trying to say but I don't agree with how he put it across.

This is a great sim, one of the best that is out there but like OBP55 said, there really hasn't been any correspondence for quite a while. I'm pretty positive that if there was at least a monthly update from the devs then people would be happy with that. I'm not talking about patch updates, I'm talking about a monthly post informing the community about recent developments with the progress of an upcoming patch or release of S3.

A simple post letting the community know of what sort of problems have arisen with new physics, the development of the Scirocco and so forth.

I strongly believe that the people who are left playing this sim (and by the way things are going there won't be many soon) will be happy with these monthly updates. This will at least give people some comfort in knowing that something is being done towards the improvement of this sim.

I understand that the devs have lives of their own that they need to live and this started off as a hobby, but when you have made as much money off a hobby as I think you have and you have thousands of people who race this sim then I think that there needs to be at least some effort put forward into letting us know what is going on. Especially since we were promised a car before Christmas 2008 and it's now Feb 2010.

There used to be 10's of thousands of people each week playing this sim but now that figure has diminished quite substantially. This is because there has only been spiratic updates and no information on how things are coming along.

In closing, like I said, all you need is a simple monthly post informing people about the progress of LFS's development and I guarentee that will keep people happy and some sense of something being done.

Thank you for listening and I hope you take into consideration what I have said.

Cheers.

Hey guys,

Was just in a race when it was noticed by a couple of drivers that when they pitted they had "Repair Damage" turned off but their damage was still repaired.
OoCR Aston XRR Enduro Series
Bones73
S2 licensed
Hey guys,

We over at OoCR (Out of Control Racing) are holding an XRR Enduro Series around the Aston tracks.

There is 14 rounds to go through with race lengths ranging from 33 - 90 laps depending on the track.

We have only done 1 round of the series so far but would like more racers to be able to show up each week.

Qualifying starts at 9pm AEST and race starts around 10pm AEST. Races go for around 1.5 hours. To sign up (while there is still time (registrations close on Friday 24th July)) go to http://proracingroom.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=111

This is an Aussie server and too many overseas participants would lag out the server so we ask for Aussie residents only please.

Teamspeak will be running for the entire series, so if you would like to chat while racing, ask for the server ip when you join the room (Doing this will also help you to get the room password before the start of the race). Room is called ProRacingRoom#1.

Hope to see a few people there.

If you would like help in the verbal manner on setting up your G25, jump in the Pro Racing Room #1 and we'll give you our Teamspeak ip to talk you through the process of setting up your wheel.

I'd use it definately.

Another good part of this feature would be to also be able to store passwords. Especially if you have an admin pw to a specific server that you join regularly.

I know this was put up last year but I was just thinking about it and instead of making a new thread I thought I'd do a search first.

Thanks Bean0, that looks cool. But is it possible to stay away from the green and gold colors? And would it be possible to have a bit more design on it? I'm sorry if I don't sound appreciative coz I am. Just that I would like a really cool design...which I know you can do.

Maybe I should be more specific.

You don't have to worry about making it look Australian too much.

Appologies once again.

yes we do have a team skin already and the bloke who does our skins has gone walkabout. Plus I felt like something different and I'm not that good at skinning.
FZ5 Skin
Bones73
S2 licensed
Hey guys, just wondering if someone could make a skin for me for the FZ5. I am in the MNR series and would like a new skin. I am a team member of OoCR (Out of Control Racing) in the PRR (Pro Racing Room) rooms.

I was also wondering if it was possible to get the .psd/.psp file aswell so our number can be added onto it.

On the car could I please get:
OoCR
www.proracingroom.com
room for numbers to be added (with recommendations on font to use)
sponsors from Australia
design and colors I will leave up to your wonderful and creative minds

I look forward to seeing a wicked result.

Thanks in advance

We have 1 simple rule (amongst others). And that is if you intentionally hit someone you get a warning. If you continue to hit other drivers to get past you get kicked. If you come back and continue this attitude you get banned. Doesn't matter what track we are racing on.

People these days seem to be in a hurry to get nowhere. Doesn't matter if it's on LFS or in RL.

In the pics by Spangler there is a couple of pics that has a logo with the word "PISSUP".
I'm not sure what it means in Czech but here in Australia it's a term used for drinking a lot...............ie "so are we gonna have a pissup tonight?" Makes me laugh. But cool pics none the less and it looked like an awesome day had by all.

Here's my take on things.

Why does everyone have to speculate on what S3 is or isn't gonna have? We all know it is coming but no-one, and i mean no-one knows what is going to be in it or when it is going to be released other than the devs.

So why try and spread rumours and ruffle each others feathers, coz you heard from a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend who supposedly knows Scawan, what is going to be in S3 or when it's going to be released.

I understand that everyone is getting excited at the prospect of S3 being released but how long did we wait for S2? If S3 is going to be as spectactular as everyone suspects then it will probably be a long wait before it is released.

What we have now is the best sim on the market and I'm sure the devs want to keep it that way. Plus the fact the you can play it on not so spectacular pc's which is something I'm sure the devs will keep.

Shoot me down for sounding negative but I look at as being patient and letting the sim run it's course and be improved in the time frame the devs want, not what the racers want.

34 here. A couple of guys in my team are over 40 including the founders of the team and 1 of them only has 1 leg (the left one). And he is faster than most guys that come into the server.

They have their little comps for the younger guys, why doesn't someone set up a league for the over 30 (more mature) racers. Would be good to get on track with a bunch of guys that know what respect is and how to race clean and not shove their way through the pack.

Something simple. More could possibly be added to it so I'll take suggestions.

edit: ok, looked better when I did it. I could see all the letters. Will have another crack at it.

edit 2: Made it a bit brighter. Will email off with positive feedback but will throw in the bin with negative feedback LOL.

Question: are you running off a wireless router or connected to a networked pc?

If the pc isn't too far away try running an ethernet cable from 1 pc to the other. That might help you maintain a constant connection.

One of the main reasons you would be lagging is because with wireless connections, they sometimes drop off which causes you to disappear every now and then.

I race only in PRR and I remember seeing you there. We love to have locals join the server (as well as anyone else) but if lag is a big issue we kindly ask you to fix the problem or please leave. Lag disrupts everybody else's racing because the server is trying harder to retrieve your info.

Hope it works out for you mate and we see you in PRR racing hard and having fun.

Aussie V8 Supercars would be awesome in LFS, especially if a few of the Aussie tracks could be brought into the game.

If they say 'NO!' and are set on not changing their minds. As a last resort you could say that if they don't buy you S2 you will rebel against them and take up drugs and become a full blown drug user, seller and courier and probably end up in jail for the rest of your life.

Or you could say "well I'll just have to rob the local liquor store then".

And then point out how much you want this sim according to the lengths you are willing to go to to get this sim. LOL

I don't post in here often but read a lot of content.

I'm not here to upset anyone but to make a point.

A lot has been said regarding this subject, some of it silly and some of it intelligent. (Mine will probably be in the silly section )

I bought my licence way back when S2 first came out. Here in Australia 24£ equals to around $57. Most new games here cost around the $100 mark (you do the equation into £). Paying almost half price for a game that gives so much enjoyment I would do any day.

I honestly don't understand why there is so much complaining going on from the demo racers (who a number of say they have the money to buy a licence). If they have played the demo for so long and been on here a number of times they should've realised by now that they would get their precious XRT back plus a number of other staggering cars that will provide more challenges to their drifting scene. The XRT isn't the only car in the game that can be drifted. I've seen a few demo racers say "If it has 4 wheels I can drift it" (which I'm yet to see happen with the FBM lol). If you say you can drift anything, save the money and buy a licence and prove it. You don't have to get one right now, it's Xmas and everybody is broke (including myself) so it's understandable.

Don't forget the extra tracks that you get. There are a couple of tracks that I reckon you could probably stay sideways the whole time. There is also the BL Carpark where you are able to create your own personally designed drift track and drift the night away.

With an S2 licence, the possibilities for drifters is endless. Buy a licence and try it out, you won't be sorry I promise.

ps. get yourself a G25 too and make the experience even better.

pss. I'm not a drifter if you are thinking I am. I'm a hard core racer and love every minute of it.

Thanks for listening to me ramble on.

Don't be worried about making the wrong decision in buying the G25 coz you didn't.

Before I bought mine I did some research and before I made my final decision I asked a bunch of people what their opinion was on both wheels. Everybody I spoke to said to get the G25. I know people who have G25's also and they can't believe how much more realistic the car feels.

The new patch has added more realistic features to the game and the G25 just enhances those features a whole lot more. Believe me, when you get used to it you will not want to put it away and keep driving for hours.

My team mates and I start our night of racing every night about 8:30pm (Aus time) and before we know it we've had a great time and it's 3am. Time flies when you're having fun. All of us have G25's so there is also a fair amount of setup advice being swapped around to help make the race experience more fun.

I used to use (and still have packed away) a Microsoft Sidewinder non FF. I decided to upgrade after about 10 years use of the sidewinder and went for the G25. Since then I haven't looked back. The fact that the FF is superb (depending on your settings and how you want to feel the bumps in the road). Plus the fact that it has the H shifter and clutch pedal makes it ideal if you want more of a real life feeling.

I know for sure that this wheel is going to be getting a lot of use (which it has already since I bought it in Sept '07) and won't let me down since all major parts are metal and not plastic.

You've only been playing for 3 days???? And you think that you should be as quick as everyone else????

Seriously mate, it doesn't matter how long you have been racing in real life, you can't expect to get on LFS and start winning races straight away....especially with using keyboard.

There are people on here that have been playing this game for several years (including myself) and still aren't the quickest out there.

There is one thing you are gonna have to learn very quickly.....and that is that you will never start winning races straight away. It takes a lot of practise and the right setup to become good at this sim. Even when you get your G25 you will still be slow until you get used to how the wheel handles and how LFS performs.

Don't take this the wrong way but you sound like a typical noob who can drive a kart fast in real life and expects to be able to perform the same way in LFS. If you are thinking that way then you are sooooo wrong.

If, after a few months, you are still 2 to 3 seconds slower than everyone else, then come in here and ask the same question you just asked. Then, and only then, will someone have some decent advice for you.

Sorry if I sound harsh, but that's the way it is.

I'm in. I bought my G25 around September this year (previously had Miscrosoft Sidewinder no FF) and it brought a whole new dimension to the game for me. Now I get to use the full potential of the wheel.

The new physics of the game have, to me, made it more like driving a real car without actually being in the car and feeling it move around like they do.

Because of the new physics, 1 thing I did was delete all my previous PB's and started from scratch. I figured "New patch, new physics, new feel.................new PB's"
