Anyone got a cam-file for A23 (Aston Classic Boot)?
I'd like to stream one of our races there, but can't find a cam-file for it. I gave it a try, but I seem to be pretty useless at setting nice-looking cameras.

Just one more thing:

Is there an easy way to make the localtracker use a MySQL 4.1+ style password/authentication? On my local webserver, it works fine using a 4.0 style pw in the database, but I guess my website-admin would be happier not to use an outdated password-style.

If there is no easy way, well, he'll have to get over it.

I've got it up running now, just a few things I can't figure out:
  1. I get the error: "Notice: Use of undefined constant max_execution_time - assumed 'max_execution_time' in C:\xampp\htdocs\config.php on line 86" on all the pages. It doesn't seem to hurt, I just wonder why this is?
  2. The "main logo" won't show. There is no error message or anything, it just doesn't appear. Doesn't help to type in the whole URL either. As suggested in the documentation, the image is smaller than 400x150

Oh, and a feature request:
Would be nice if the tracker would automatically move all the "old" html-files in a seperate directory when a new session is starts.

Ok, test-race is over (SO6R / LX6 in open config mode)

Blue Flags:
I have to say, blue flags are working really good.
I guess the system is a bit more sophisticated than the one I suggested.
All the drivers have been in teamspeak, so I now have a fairly good overview of what peaople were thinking about it. Some said, blue flags were near perfect. Others said (and I feel the same) they are shown a little bit too early. Nevertheless, the LX6 is not the fastest car in game, so I guess that'll be ok.

It also seems to depend on the track. We were having some fun in the Blackwood carpark after the race, and blue flags were shown much later there. I guess this happens, because the new blue flags are only shown when the lapper is within a certain angle behind the car you're driving (which is a good thing). So: the curvier the track, the later the flags are shown. They still felt to be "in time".


To cut a long story short:
We like it.
I think it really is the best you can expect from a workaround like that.

I'm just thinking, if this is an easy fix, you could even implement to wave a yellow flag, when a car is slower than ~30-35mph. As far as I know, there are no corners in LfS that are driven slower than that. Again: not a perfect system, as high speed accidents won't be detected, and there would be many yellows at the start.
But it would help in most of the "oh there is a car standing around in the middle of the road" situations...
I don't know if that can be done easily. Just another idea...

What really is a problem, is the lack of blue flags. The race became quite uneasy as soon as the lapping began.

I wonder if you can find any workaround for this problem, like you did with the position list. I don't know how it's done, but the trackmap somehow knows which cars are ahead and which are behind. The trackmap also knows, where each car is on the track in any given moment. So maybe you could somehow manage to "measure" the distance between the cars and wave a blue flag when the distance gets too short.
That would'nt be a perfect system as there are bends and hairpins where cars are getting (geographically) close to each other without being close in terms of timing.
But as there aren't that many hairpins, I guess it would help racing anyway...
Server option to vote for practice / quali > 60 min

This should be an easy one:

Could you please either make an option to vote for practice, or extend qualifying lenght to more than just 60 Minutes?

It's always the same problem on our league-servers: some people like to compare their laptimes (=quali-mode) others want to find out whether their tires last long enough (practice-mode, cause quali-session isn't long enough).
Since you can't vote for practice, you always need an admin to be around.

I got the XFR/UFR-Bug thingy:

It's the tyres.
Both cars can now use R1 tyres. That wasn't possible before the patch.
They were able to use R4 instead (what they can't do anymore).

That's why people using Z16 getting OOS errors as soon as someone joines the track on R4-Tyres...

but he gave us only a little overview to the VW Scrirocco and about work in LFS. So they are working on a revision of the Physikengine to get a better car controle on all tracks. The Car traction (grip) on Tracks will be more better with less understeering. So the Scirrocco takes a long time of work on the engine because they needs to be updating the physikengine. This takes automaticlly a adjustment to the physiks of the other cars in lfs.

One more point was S3 it will come !! =) BUT it comes "when its done"
One of the plans in LFS will be a content pack after S3 came out. They'll be include new tracks and Cars but this is in a far away future

Virtual-Racing.org is running several different simulations, including LfS, rFactor, GTR2, GTL, GPL and NR2003, on a Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition without any Problems.

Even if I dont think it'll make any difference:
We are using a seperate Windows-Userprofile for each simulation.

System is a Dell Server PE1950,

Propably very easy to add:
I'd like to see a "spectate" button in the connections list (just like "kick" and "ban")

That would be useful in league-races and trainings. (where you'll never "ban" someone, but sometimes "spectate" in trainings)
