Lol what's the point of anything in life? Nice society there would be if everybody was like you.

You could sell the G25 and buy a cheaper wheel + S2.
And besides, if I were to offer you a present that costs me 300$. Then I find a present that will do to for (what's a good price for G25 secondhand?) 100$. I'd just pay the extra 40-50$ for a game. Tell your present giver they're cheapskates...(Don't look a gift horse in the mouth doesn't apply for cheapskates )

+ Easiest fix for everyone that wants LFS S2 license... Ring doorbells in your street, tell them you need money and ask if they will pay you some small amount for mowing their lawn. Stop being lazy people, this is how I bought my Sega, Nintendo, PS 1, PS2 and my first computers as well.

I understand people here being frustrated. I myself am awaiting S3 eagerly, but I'm not going to kill myself if it never gets released.
But I even understand more why they don't involve us anymore in the process.

Image you said to a friend: "Wouldn't it be a good idea if I made a chair that could fly?" And suddenly you get 1000-10 000 phone calls a day asking about the flying chair, while you never intended to really build it.

I think this is what they are trying to avoid. Especially after Scirocco and Rockingham leaked to the crowd. They told us what they may intend and all we can do is ask when it will be ready. Then they try pleasing us with pending release. But we keep on b*tching in the same way we are doing now.(ok it never got released, but under the legit reason they didn't think it was good enough for us.) So now they just think it's easier to keep us in the dark I guess, so we can't start moaning about new "unreleased" stuff.

A frustrating approach perhaps, but I think we brought this on our own.
Let the Devs just worry about developing instead of getting badly unmotivated every time they look at these forums.
Look at how much you have to pay for Iracing alpha or beta. LFS isn't near that expensive so you shouldn't be b*tching about new content. You already got what you payed for.

Indeed not a lot of software uses it and if they do it's a very recent version. For example 3D designing software.

On the benchmark results I was baffled. As my GPU beats yours and others people easily. But because I have a quad core my max result is "way" below some people.
Another benchmark that shows quad cores are no good for gaming.
Maybe there should be a 3DMark benchmark result added? So we know how the system in total scores too.(altought this might just be only personal interest)

I don't know where to post this and thought this best fitted here.

I am without a team and know few people from in-game.
Since I mostly just keep to racing and being friendly I don't get to know people in-game that easily. I don't mind this, because I'm not here for friends, just fun racing with anyone.

The problem now is that I know sometimes how to improve, sometimes I don't.
I know my driving in general can be improved a lot easily. But there is no one to teach me.
Sometimes I just ask through the chat if it's something I really want to know or can't see by just spectating.
I also remember me asking in a thread, when I was a huge newb, how to improve. And you guys helped a lot just through this forum.

Might it not be a good idea to have like a "learning session" (workshop ) on track like they do with karting. ie. driving in a train at a slower pace. Spectate the person's driving to see minor flaws or something.

I know most can't be bothered for this, or maybe this is already done in teams. But what about those without a team?
Or more important, what about me?(just kidding)

I see, thanks for the answer. Especially fun to see that it seems like you already considered this.

But eye-candy is not what I care about. I was thinking more along the lines that most old mainboards now have PCI or even PCI-e.
Since PC upgrades cost a lot because of a different CPU sockets, you need to upgrade most of your hardware.

Let's say non CUDA graphical cards can also share their free capacity.
Then people would just be able to upgrade only their Graphic card to one that fits their mainboard. And also a lot of people's system now, would be able to play with higher FPS in 12+ player grids.
It seems a lot of people here have an old CPU, so they drive about in 10-24 FPS not knowing what they are causing. This would've been an easy fix to that.

EDIT: Sorry for the big off-topic

This benchmark got me wondering...
Isn't there a way to let your GPU help the CPU in calculations? Like how it takes physics nowadays.

I came across such an option in a game or program once, but forgot which. There has to be someone who wrote a program to do this, no?

EDIT:
RCUDA seems to be doing this in some way.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RCUDA

Can any PC-Wiz tell me how I go about this?
Seems RCUDA is made specifically for usage in a network.

It's so typical Wolfire..
I love Lugaru and Overgrowth.(pre order)
The only devs outside LFS I happily supported financially the latest years.

Games should have gone the same direction as they are trying.
Super flowing control scheme.

The shooter looks entirely their style. The half awkward visual view, and the hard to master control scheme.(but once you master it, oh boy...) They like to try to bring something new. Especially on "body physics". The reloading takes a lot of effort if you compare it to pressing Reload Button, which seems cool and totally their style.
They would assign pinky-movement to a single axis if they could.

The way of their pre-order Overgrowth weekly alphas is just great.
And in a sense it's the same as LFS that it takes long. And they don't matter how long to achieve their final goal, as long as they achieve something they see as "perfection".
+1 for another fun release by Wolfire.

You have deadzone settings in the logitech profiler. It seems like a lot of people don't know about this.

Profiler -> Steering wheel -> Axis properties.

EDIT & actually Off-topic:
But for people thinking any axis is too sensitive by default...
All axis are set to 50% sensitivity by default in the logitech profiler.

I've had this wobbling too on straights with my G25.

I just uninstalled LFS completely. And also all Wheel drivers. Redownloaded the latest and reinstalled everything. Then it worked.

For the sharp input. Did you turn your wheel completely to the left and right on track? Sometimes the LFS Axis' maximum isn't calibrated and any degree of steering will be seen as maximum until a new maximum is reached.

Which wheel do you use? In case of a Logitech Wheel, you might have overlooked the setting to allow game to alter settings.
(don't know if you have to turn this on for DXtweak)

I don't use DXtweak, only thought this might help.

Try turning down Full screen anti aliasing and texture filtering.

Edit: I see high res skins is also on, but I don't know how intensive this is.
Also, did you change screen resolution frequently? Like bought a new monitor?
lolzol
S2 licensed
Your monitor can't handle the resolution.

Solution:
-Hook a different Display that can handle the resolution and change it back.
-Find a Config file (CFG) where your resolution is saved.
Then change it there to 800X600 or something in the same format already there.
-Reinstall LFS (if you can't edit the option in any CFG file)
Edit
-Shift + F9/F10/F11/F12 changes resolution from any screen.
Unless you assigned something else to this.
Shift + F9 being 640 x 480 x 16, which any screen can handle..

If in Windows 7, just note the old drivers and delete/uninstall them after the new ones are installed.

Windows XP or Vista -> reinstall (If you back up right + know how to edit registry reinstalling an OS and all previous software only takes 15-30 minutes)

My phrasing was a bit off...

He needs a Windows XP CDkey so he can update graphical Drivers and upgrade to SP3 through the official way.
This might not be the solution, but you have to try.
And there are other issues a cracked OS brings besides the genuine Windows screen, which isn't a problem at all.

Off topic: And yes laptops aren't made for gaming, not even gaming laptops.
Unless you put water cooling on there. It was just my point that any laptop starting from 2006 or sooner had overheating issues.

But let's stop speculating and rattling till OP posts back I guess .

The 8800GTS is a bit better than his ATI 128mb card. So of course it overheats. since the 7600 series from Nvidia laptops always overheated during gaming. Ati always had the advantage there.

On Topic: -> His temperatures are not the problem. They are mentioned on the previous page. He just needs a windows XP CD key...
I have a spare Windows Vista Home Basic CD key, but I don't advise installing Vista to anyone...
If you PM me your EXACT Windows XP version DeeKay773, I can look into a CD key for it. Press Command + Pause/Break (Command being the Windows Flag)

EDIT: Or if you are impatient, just TPB the SP3 version. It should work without having to reinstall.

Reading Amp888's post, it seems like the replays requires some processing power.
So it's probably to do with not having enough available resources on your computer hardware.

Make sure you QUIT your internet browser EVERY TIME instead of just closing it.
My Firefox takes 100-500mb RAM and Opera 230-670mb RAM. So I lose 1Gb RAM on programs in the background if I forget to close them down completely.

If it still happens when nothing is running in the background, you could just Format your pc, or just live with the fact your computer can't compute it anymore.(I have no idea what computer hardware you have though)

Good to hear...
Seems like one of the connector pins just had bad contact.
Would be even better if it wasn't even that.

Have fun with your normal colors

I hate it when browsing a Replay, that it reloads the whole thing.
This isn't that bad with me since I have a "powerful rig".

You might have installed something lately which takes a lot of CPU/RAM?
Look for processes running in the background.
Maybe a sector of your HDD is corrupt and the replay tried to write/read from there. (probably not)

You can't want 100% functionallity with cracked software....
No cdkey on your laptop sticker? As normally every laptop contains an OS from the start.

I think I may not help you through these forums anymore
If you are a student you have the right to any Windows license for free though...
Google -> ma3d
EDIT: Just took a quick look and I see it's only French or Dutch.
Find yourself a French/Dutch/Belgian student (I'm not a student anymore, so sorry.)

And I'm sure no one here never Pirated at least once...
Music, video, game, software, etc....
(youtube = piracy)
This does not make it right of course.

If that can't find your driver I don't know what will.
It seems it's not the temperature.
I don't think you need more room on your HDD for "swapping"...

Only thing after VGA drivers is SP3.

You're CPU warning and critical temp concerns me. That's some high temps...
Intel drops performance when overheating, especially with the old CPUs.
Since you don't get this in CS with higher temps it's unlikely though.

It looks like your PC somehow stopped being able to handle LFS.
Suddenly it stops processing a lot of things, but everything can be the cause.
Do you have enough space on your HDD?

I'd advise -> Upgrade to SP3 -> update VGA-drivers and try again...

I had this once with a Windows 7 update.
You might have just updated your system?

Otherwise the joining a game option should do the trick I guess.
(I don't know if you can have a .CFG file that can overwrite standard config. Else it might be this if you created a .CFG file)

EDIT: Above post is probably the right answer though...

A connector pin might still be broken in your screen's plug.
Try your monitor with a different computer and you'll know immediately if it's your driver/graphics card or your monitor.

Maybe your drivers update "silently"?
Maybe your graphics card got a bit damaged due to excess voltage or just ran out.
Do you have multiple connections on your graphics card?
You could still try using the secondary connection/ DVI, HDMI.

In case it's your monitor, I hope you still have warranty.

(Do flatscreens still do that magnetic thing with the green and purple?)

I have always loved the Samsung Synchmasters.
But there are better monitors of course.

And I'd always go for an IPS, unless you wanna see different colours every time you sit 2cm to the left or right from your screen.
And LED or normal shouldn't matter that much I think, just the max brightness and power consumption.(maybe a bit flatter colors with fluorescent tubes)
