Quote from Zac86 :I never said the physics were bad I was just stating that I can't feel the grip coming back while correcting an oversteer situation.

The only real life racing experience I have is with AWD cars so I cant comment on how these RWD cars react to my inputs.

Quote from PhilS13 :Everyone having trouble catching slides needs to read all of this and then start doing some testing

http://www.assettocorsa.net/fo ... s-and-perceived-lag.1481/

There is a known issue that creates a delay between what you see on the screen and the actual physics. There is no universal "fix". You just gotta find out in this thread what works for your machine.

Once you figure this out you'll have a new game...For real.

Thank you soo much, this was like an ON switch for me. Before I was thinking I must have completely lost all feel for sims, couldn't catch a thing after reading about how nice some cars are over the limit. Now i cant stop driving.

Anyone who thinks they may have an issue, or anyone who is struggling catching slides(more often than not over correcting when trying to catch any slide) try the KTM, cause is exposes the problem the most cause the weight transfer seems faster, I was always seemingly way to slow to react. With the changes it is a completely differant case, now it is just sooo manageable.

Seems to me now a good way to test is if you find the L49 the best car over the limit and the KTM the worst. If this is the case get your FPS above 90 constantly then limit your FPS ingame to something you can maintain 100%, NOT Vsync, then force Pre rendered frames to 1.

Apart from the fact is was July the 7th last year and you posted Dec 8th this year?

Wait wait wait. You mean they have actually produced a worthwhile game this time?, the AI actually have a bit of pace? What about the weather?, can you still drive with slicks on a track thats had heavy rain for a minute or so? Do the AI actually put in the laps it says they do or are the actual cars just an illusion still?

Thinking of trying this again. Are the AI any faster? Do they still brake waaaayyy too early then come off, then on again, then brake again mid corner?

This thread and the whole subject of cost of product, small LFS/NKP vs huge iRacing reminds me of this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6XAPnuFjJc The whole thing really but a big highlight of 8:58-9:40

Passion always breeds better results than money.

Why does everyone think that because Whitmarsh said it was Hamiltons choice for inters, that thats true when Paddy Lowe has always said the team made the decision. Hamilton said the track was 'ok' for dry tyres still.

The team reacted to Rosburg, Webber, Barrichello, Sutil and Petrov going quicker in S1, and they had to put something on.

Quote from Juzaa : Red Bull clearly didn't think so because they gave Webber slick tires and quite often the teams do have a similar view of the circumstances because they all have the best possible gear and people there.

Webber went onto Inters. Open yer eyes.

I personally love the live coverage of the power stage, and if the whole 3 days could be like that....wow, Coverage kinda like golf is covered, but better. But that would surely cost way to much.

Quote from flymike91 :has anyone played the AI in forza and gt? Which one is better? I would imagine that they're pretty similar in that once you pass them, they're gone forever but I don't know for sure. Its always weird when you battle a car for 3 or more laps and when you finally pass them its like they give up.

I played Forza 3 for the first time about 2 months ago while on holiday with some family, and on AI pace it wins so handily it is embarrassing. On medium level they are quicker than GT5 AI and on slow are still smoother drivers(none of the multi braking zone, braking on apex crap, the GT5 AI does). On hard I had a very hard time winning with the controller, with the wheel it got easier but was still a really fun time(and actually the most competitive AI on any console game I've played), I actually had to try really hard when out-braking them and if I did get alongside enough they tryed to hold on around the outside.

Also just in general racing with them I could be right behind them and brake at my normal spot keep with them through the corner and do a whole lap, keeping a good pace but not go past, in GT5 I would have rear ended him or had to evade him at every corner due to the really really early braking.

GT5 is more fun for some reason but on:
  • Tuning(the sheer amount of stuff you can do)
  • Setup(same as above)
  • Car count of cars you actually WANT to drive(MORE Ferraris, Lambos, Porsche, MANY race cars in the form of V8 Supercars, LMP1, LMP2, GT1, GT2 cars and LESS prius, samba bus, station wagons etc)
  • AI(faster faster faster)
  • Customization(Immense number of colours, wheels. Ability to paint any car anyway you want, with stickers and paint and and and. Artsy people must love it.
  • Events(SO MANY, in groups of power, class, make, real life classes, Drag races, point to point races)
It is so beaten by Forza 3 its ridiculous esp considering it took so long to make in comparison.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :The AI is actually not as atrocious as people seem. They do yield to blue flags actually quite decently, and they are a lot better for passing. Not fantastic, but not as braindead as before.

I always thought that regarding the way they respond to the cars around them is fine, its their catastrophic lack of pace that grinds my balls off. Needing to use 3 compounds worse off tyres than them just to have a decent race just shouldn't be necessary.

So apparently nobody has yet done the Formula GT race? Would the reward possibly be an F1 car? 10 million cr is just too much to part with.

The reward is great a........Caterham!, Piss easy race, the AI is still crap.

I'm talking about the vid you posted.

Just checked and the vid hit Youtube on the 23rd Nov. Doubt the lvl 40 thing.

I'm pretty sure that vid was posted pre official release and used to claim lvl 20 needed for that damage, may even be in this thread.

All automatic, pelt it into the pits and game takes over.

I got shafted on my CE, got standard plus a voucher and apology card instead, WTF. Anyway

I decided not to install and it is surprisingly not as slow as I thought it would be and the install while playing bit works very well aswell, really hope this system becomes the norm for PS3. Haven't tried with wheel yet since no where to mount it but feels decent with DS3.

Biggest let down by a long way is the AI pace, even with a controller and me driving very badly they are a walkover through the corners(hope its level affected). I really detest having to go through so much in B-Spec aswell just to train drivers for later A-Spec stuff, bit of a chore. (Is there another way?)

Level system is not a hindrance at all imo, just do N-B, then whatever special events you can and you will rank up really quick with lots of cash too.

Not too sure what I think of the lack of Brake mods. Tuning in general is very simplified, not that I mind since I mostly prefer standard cars, physic maybe more reliable.

Anyone know about the whole changeable weather thing?, is that also level unlocked or will it only happen in endurance races. I did notice it sometimes rains in the GT Rally.

BSpec feels abit 'micro-managy', I hope when putting them on for a stint they don't need to be told to get a move on or hold their pace, since I've been having him really really slow down 1 lap after telling him to hold his pace, seems to be abit forgetful :P .

All in all, for now its a really fun thing and looks great too.

Quote from MijnWraak :All of the more recent videos show very competitive AI, so

What???, in these vids they mostly trounce him on the straights, then brake uber early and carry pathetic corner speed.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_B3eLrr6UZ4
Around 2:35 the Mazda even brakes after the apex.

There are many others showing the same.

I'm not really bothered with the low detail standards tbo, what worries me more is the lack of pace the AI has been showing in all these vids.
