Why the hell have they gone for this stupid freaking retarded level unlock thing for GT Life. What was wrong with earning Money for cars and getting Licences for events?

I far prefer to just do the licence tests, then go. None of this stupid unlocking after a certain level crap like Forza. I really hope in normal GT mode its all there day 1, fine with licences, good intro to the way the game plays.

The buttons and all on the wheel are usefull in LFS too, DFGT is best of the above in almost every way.

Yeah.
I set the L3 button to do a series of presses, F9-F10-F10. So when I press it the first time I get tyres, the next time damage, the next time it takes it away.

The same with R3, F11-F12-F12

Then set the dial right to right arrow, dial left to left arrow, plus button to up arrow, minus to down arrow. Works well for live settings, setup options, etc.

Anyone know how to get one button to work for a PTT key in TS or Vent?

Last I heard, was confirmation that they no longer will do a generic 'cockpit' view for stand cars, and now the best you will get is bonnet view for the standard cars.

Quote from Boris Lozac :
Did not expect this... and we beat this Germany, and loose from Ghana and Australia.. ffs..

Well Serbia didn't exactly outplay Ger in that game. Infact before they got too tired Germany where making more opportunities while one man down.

So glad Germany got rid of Maradona. Such a quality side. Ger, Hol final plox.

Quote :While some footballers aint that bright, to claim that all are dumb (as you are doing) is well.....pretty dumb it's self.

I know, thats why I said("some select football players"). Generalizing is bad and half of what I'm saying is in jest. It would be impossible to say, hey that lot are more smarter than that lot. That being said though If I take an example through all the SA universities, I will find lots of scholarship soccer players doing bugger nothing pointless degrees and lots of University students getting high level degrees and playing rugby in their spare time. But with lots of grey area.

Quote from DevilDare :out that obese "man" in no time.

Then they are not a very good player if they are obese. Habana can do a sub 10,5 sec 100 meters, and he is HUGE.

Yeah maybe those tubby old men that try to still play rugby sometimes in little clubs are obese. They couldn't do 80 minutes of play in their dreams.

Quote from G!NhO :Rugy players are the dumb and strong ones, power but no brains.

Take a sample from any rugby playing nations University and see the types of degrees the players are getting. 2 of my engineering friends actually play for the University 1st team, good team too, Champions last year iirc.

Then also there are I believe 2 doctors that are active players in the Springbok squad. Jannie du Plessis is one and there is actually a story of him saving a mans life just after a game, don't know who the other is but pretty sure he is more of a second string backline player. My Grandpa(Welsh) also was great friends with 3 brothers that all played rugga and were/maybe are CAs.

You just need one interview with some select football players to see the lack of action in that head.

Quote from G!NhO :I guess they like rugby more since they are out of the world cup already, and they have more succes in that.

Fck Yeah .

Quote from zeugnimod :Wrong.

Penalty kick and yellow card.

Here's prooof. From 1.25. Bad quality, sorry. He got a yellow card for that.

Yeah I watched that game live actually but anyway. When I saw it there and then on TV to me it was not an intentional deliberate handling/manipulation of the ball. Letting your arm wander into the course of the ball is very different from lunging to parrying the ball on the goal line. To explain what I mean, take a scenario of a pass at the top of the box that gets intercepted by a defender diving down with two hands and pushing the ball to a teammate with a very 'keeper like' action. Would that be a red or yellow. If I'm wrong then put that on the list of instant red cardable offenses imo.
Quote from zeugnimod :

What an awful sport.

THIS. Rugby is a much better game.

Football/soccer, a gentlemans sport played by hooligans and the less educated(because its so simple they can).

Rugby, a Hooligans sport played by gentlemen and the more intelligent as its too complicated for the idiots. Also with no falling over screaming when you clip another players bootlaces.

Motorsport. The best, nuff said .

In what world is a penalty and a player being red-carded(at a point in the game that makes very very little difference) equivalent to a goal.
If you stop a garunteed try in rugby by cheating or with a foul it is a penalty try, because a foul/penalty whatever it is is a very very different thing in that way.

1. Ghana had done the work the goal was scored essentially, but someone handles the ball on purpose to stop it. Penalty kick and a redcard.
2. Team x passes the ball in the box(but is still far from getting a shot off never mind the ball being almost past the line!)and a player handles the ball on purpose. Penalty kick and redcard.

How can such a deficiency in the rules happen in such a popular and extremely basic sport at an international level?

Theres a theory that the original 'stalling the wing' system didn't involve a driver controlled duct and worked in a similar way to how Ferrari's is now and the duct just improves the effect. The thought behind it is that at lower speed the Airbox and thus the engine sucks most of the air in before it reaches the duct thus the air entering the duct is slower. At higher speed the air starts to come in much quicker and the ratio that gets picked up by the airbox is less, giving the duct more air at a higher velocity.

The Mclaren may still have the same with a vent near the airbox, so they get that and the extra duct that the drivers can control. The drivers duct probably gives more of an effect at medium speeds on straights before up to higher speed, then the duct by the airbox would start to make more of an effect.

Just a theory though.

If you think the first and last encounter(the building)had no people with weapons, open your eyes and ears and watch again. At around 2.10-2.19(unedited vid)there is one guy in a striped shirt with a rifle (unless its a telescopic lens the length of his leg:really, and the guy next to him has what looks like a launcher and comes up to his chest. Then "Six; this is Four. I got one individual looks like he's got an RPG round laying underneath him." Then at the beginning of the building bit you can CLEARLY see two guys with weapons.

There are so many indicators of what a hostile situation that was. There are multiple seperate groups operating there, Hotel, Copperhead, Bushmaster, Crazy Hourse(choppers).

They where called in for a reason not just finding people to kill.
"Bushmaster or element. Which Element called in Crazyhorse to engage the eight-elem- eight-men team on top of a roof.
"Bushmaster Six; this is Hotel Two-Six. Uh, I believe that was me. They uh had AK-47s and were to our east, so, where we were taking small arms fire. Over."
Later "Hey yeah, roger, be advised, there were some guys popping out with AKs behind that dirt pile break. We also took some RPGs off, uh, earlier, so just uh make sure your men keep your eyes open. .....
"Uh, where else are we taking fire from?" "Currently we're not being engaged, ah, but just south of that location."

Also "Uh, negative, he was, uh, right in front of the Brad." Thats coming from someone on the ground prob talking about a prev encounter, and they(choppers) think that camera guy is getting ready to shoot with RPG, so to them its important to shoot quickly, remember they are moving around in a chopper and seeing this on a screen somewhere amongst a whole lot of other displays etc and trying to keep track of other people talking and more info coming in......its a situation that requires quick actions not spending all your attention determining if its a weapon or not. 15:28 "Yeah Two-Six. One-Eight I just also wanted to make sure you knew that we had a guy with an RPG cropping round the corner getting ready to fire on your location."

This video has been taken out of context, we have o idea what was happening before this and nearby and when there is no video.

This is embelished in the other direction of the video i.e US side so think while you read it and choose what to believe,

Quote :A unit from Bravo Company 2–16 was within 100 meters of the individuals that were fired upon with 30mm AH-64 Apache cannons. The company was charged with clearing their sector from any small armed forces, and had been under fire from small arms and rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs). The company was supported by two Apache helicopters from the 1st Cavalry Division's Aviation Brigade, callsigns "Crazyhorse 18" and "Crazyhorse 19". Two men were identified by Crazyhorse 18 as carrying an RPG launcher and an AKM or AK-47. When the cameraman on the ground aimed his camera in the direction of Bravo Company 2–16, a pilot remarked "He's getting ready to fire". An Apache maneuvered around a building to get a clear field of fire and shot all nine men, killing eight. A van then approached the area and attempted to load a wounded man. After getting permission to fire, the Apache crew fired on the van. When Bravo Company arrived at the scene, they found two RPGs and an AK-47 or AKM. They also found two Canon EOS digital cameras with telephoto lenses. Two children were found in the van, a four year old girl with gunshot wounds and an eight year old boy with multiple wounds, including brain damage arising from shrapnel damage to his right temporal lobe. Both children were evacuated to the 28th Combat Support Hospital via Forward Operating Base Loyalty, then transferred to an Iraqi medical facility the next day. While the Air Weapons Team was providing support at the first engagement area they were informed by ground troops that they were receiving small arms fire from the south / southwest. The crew for Crazyhorse 18 then located multiple individuals with weapons about 400 meters east of coalition forces and was given clearance to engage the targets. However, the co-pilot/gunner then observed a child and some other non-combatants in the vicinity of the individuals and decided to hold off on the engagement until the non-combatants were clear. After the non-combatants were clear Crazyhorse 18 engaged the targets. The crew for Crazyhorse 19 could not engage due to target obfuscation from buildings and dust.
The team observed several individuals from this group, some possibly wounded, run into a large multistory building. The co-pilot/gunner for Crazyhorse 19 spotted three individuals near this building get into a red SUV and drive away to the west. For about 5 to 10 minutes the team diverted its attention to this vehicle. However, according to the co-pilot for Crazyhorse 18 they failed to positively identify the occupants as combatants and returned to the previous engagement area.
These events, between the attack on the van and the attack on the building, were not captured on the leaked video footage.

Surely the steering should go light, it has very little weight over the nose and is so light in general when you acc. out of corners the front unloads even more.

Nice, . But we need to get almost every league on there and maybe even the ones that have there own sub-sections in lfsforum already, so that the league community keeps focused, having the sub-sections like before is what made league racing so accessible. I think Scavier should embrace and endorse this and place a link to it under LFS World up there ^ . Also put a link in the LFS Racing forum section.

The video posted gives a good explanation of what was thought to be going on at first where the air was taken from the airbox then directed down through the shark fin to feed the slot. But at lower speed very little air goes through as the engine sucks most in, "but at high speed you get spillage - and this split air then flows down the shark fin and feeds the slot". Causing the wing to stall.

Wonder if that was the original concept and the nose vent and knee-flap is a development of the idea, as the slot seemed to arrive before the nose vent appeared. Not sure on that tough, need to look at some testing pics. Edit: Nevermind there from the start.

Quote :I'm still not exactly sure how this reduces drag... It sounds to me that it would increase drag as a result of putting more air on the wing, increasing pressure. I'm obviously missing a piece of the puzzle here. I bet if I looked at some good pics it might make some more sense

I think the air that flows through the fin and out the slot causes the air to seperate seemlessly from the back of the wing. I suppose this seperated flow caused by the stalling no longer causes much drag or downforce as its now allowed to (relative to the car) continue on in the normal relative direction.

Clockwork Feb/2010 News and Near Future

Greetings all.

February for Clockwork was a heavy month of reorganization and team growth. Within it many Ideas and aspirations grew and it ended on a really good high for the team.

GTAL:
The 2010 GTAL season for Clockwork is a strange one as some know, however amongst name and team changes our performance from round 2 onwards hasbeen on a strong steady climb which will definitely continue upwards.

Round 4 at Westhill at the end of February saw the final strideupwards to the front of the field. Where Michal Saidl put the car onprovisional pole after the first qualifying session. That place unfortunately was taken in the second session and we where put back to 5th place on the grid.

Come the start of the race tensions where high for we knew we had a good chance with this one. Soon after the start it was clear that the heavy testing the night before paid off as the car came alive in the wind and Saidl took the lead from the current league leaders Triple Seven Racing and started opening up a gap. Things where going great on lap 23 with a fastest lap while 2nd and 3rd where battling. Into lap 24 and well into his stride,... Michal timed out as the number 13 struck. After a frantic reconnect the car went out to prove its worth again, going great Mike reached lap 47(or 24 on the server) firmly lapping in leading pace, however he got mashed off the track and into the gravel by a very slow but swerving International Team CAPO in their FZR.

Now After pitting to repair, skype and the vent channel went silent as now after working hard to get well into the lead lap again after the disconnect, we each quietly knew we would need a safety car at the least in order to finish well.

The rest of the race, thankfully, was relatively uneventful as Vince Verstreken and Mike Saidl just kept turning, trying to make the best of the situation. In the end the two, now very tired and hungry, drivers managed to glue enough pieces together to bring home 12th place, a little far from our hopes but a final flourish on the final lap achieved the fastest lap of the race.

Clockwork would like to thank Michal Saidl and Dominik Engel for staying as part of the Clockwork GTAL Team, driving, testing, honing setups and the great skin. Along with Vince Verstreken, JJ Wang and I we all look forward to more improvement and maybe some luck in the GTAL Round 5 at Fern Bay.

LFS Cart Kyoto500:
The LFS Cart team has begun preparations for the 2010 season of NewDimension Racing LFS Cart series. JJ Wang and Luke McVicar plan on taking the Oval rounds by storm while Jarl Teien and Vince Verstreken are ready to find there place on the road courses. Clockwork also plan on a large effort at the Kyoto 500 in June this Year.

Kyoto250:
Vince Verstreken, JJ Wang, Jarl Teien and Luke McVicar will be competing in this year’s event, trying to make a lasting effect on the Kyoto oval. Many Practice sessions have taken place in the past few months and the team has been in good attendance with some good showings, peppered with some important learning bits.

Clockwork **Something**:
Well now, something special has been in the works here at Clockwork which will please the people looking for a little more dirt in their 'Live for Speed'. It’s still in final planning but we hope to unveil next week Monday, so watch this space.
5...4....3...2...1...Go! Keep right over crest into... medium-left don't cut.

Thanks for reading cheers.
