Quote from elputas :Scawen, would be great on a XRG, XRT, FZ5, RAC with 50 degrees steering range. Only RWD.

Here is a great suggestion for saving hotlaps.

Isn`t it easier to make separate class for drifting. Same as XRT-XRR (we suggest XRD) isnt it great?! You can add unique options to XRD such as Weight/track width/steering angle/caster adjustment and more power. Also special drift slicks would be great but we can understand how difficult it is. And You can not take into account the results of the races for these cars. Hope you understand.

Beautyfull Big grin
I would also prefer Increase in HP aswell. set a tuned ca18det or sr20det, 300-400hp?(I know you can make more power, but reliablillity? Tongue )

This would breath more life in lfs again, and I do not belive the task is huge(ofc there is a fair amount of coding the new class Smile )

Edit: My example was for the XRD, since I prefer the XRT Tongue

+1 ofc Tongue

Quote from sinanju :And wouldn't it be great if we could skin our pitlane garage.

Skin appears when we join server, then disappears when you leave - just like any other racing teams that appear for a track meet.

Added with forced shift-f mode on serverside, could make for some serious realistick racing/track day

I have a general setting here: http://www.driftbeasts.no/howto.html
I use this for G25/G27, and feals not far from my irl car, I do drive xrt for the most though

Dyno graphs : No....

Restricted setup server type : Would be cool

Different wheel style options : Not style, but aluminum/composit 19" race rims does not suit rally imo, or drag. If we could play around with-rim diameter/Tire-profile, we could have even more enjoyment of the tire physichs I think

More refined engine note tuning : Sounds interesting

Cars need nos : Hell no...

I agree totaly, it is MANNY years since I made 1024 skins, I now use 4096 tbh, so other players look at a pixel-stew on my car

Internet and hardware have gone a loooong way since the standard of resolution on skins was set by the developers, a bit overdue on a update.

The problem will be a bigger strain on lfsworld servers, but I am willing to go down on how many skins I can upload, if I can get higher resolution tbh

What is your rotation set at in lfs? since it changes how the ffb feals
Rule of tumb: If you use 720 in profiler, set it to 720 in lfs.
In my opinion it feals "off" above 720 though, but that is probably just me

Awsome update

For all ppl "guessing" and "reading between the lines": Assumption is the mother of all fckups :P

For all "mod fans": I want it too, but it will ruin development imo, so I accualy don't.

3D: Lovely, I want a "rift" when it is out

Graphichs: Texture packs can do ALOT to improve lfs, and with dx8->dx9 + bloom makes it awsome.
I'm not alergic to better grapichs, but not important.

Development pace: I have always seen lfs as a simulator I bought "AS IS", and EVERY update is in my eyes a BONUS

New Physichs: Unsure how you can improve current physichs, other than maybe heating/wear/traction, and adding damage model.
But I look forward to see

FFB: do not touch, most direct I have felt in any sim

All I need to top it off, is better sounds, full surround sound, and "unperfect track surface"(bumps and dips an current tracks, like in the real world)

Now start flaming for anything you do not agree on

Quote from asmfazer :it take me 20 min to make fly hack speedhack ghost hack for 0.6e
im s2 i use this account to say please release s3 and maybe we will stop creating that kind of sht and play it... Ill never stop if its not released. Stop do hack protection about cheat and release it and do the patch for it

im not the ddos hacker, i only cheat and share. Hope the best for the devs.

Congrats, you are the lucky winner of a bisycle-door...
Now just conclude that you increasing your E-pecker, still won't land you any nominations for brain growth...

From your statement, you just stated you hack and cheat to make progress on lfs faster.... I guess you where droped as a child...

Another thing anoying the crap out of me, is the blur effect witch is totaly useless, I got it turned down by turning off motionblur and alternative depth..

Quote from War :Well didn't bother to check all of the earlier posts, but I get this alot. Drifting as a sport? Not to brag or anything, but I'm closely linked to drifting IRL. Drifting as a sport isn't just hooning your car around the track for show. The judges usually set up an unusual line which you should drift purely without any flaws.
If you'd like to compare this to any other sports then it's not figure skating, it's more like downhill skiing. You have to have the perfect line, angle, speed etc. It isn't just randomly sliding around, theres much more to it than that.

The skill of sliding the car around may not be a sport, but the skill of sliding the car around precisely is sport.

Thats just my few drops of oil into the flame.

Agreed

Quote from Bose321 :Great constructive feedback. Not everyone is a carpark driftfag here you know?

Very informative feedback, include namecalling to be the biggest internet tough-guy

Carpark is accualy a rather usefull track for karting with layout, with better lighting than AU, but I guess you only notised my main part in lfs?

My point still stand: never release without checking for bugs....

I do however apologise for my sharp tone, frustration got the better of me, so I'm sorry for that

I got it fixed from another Blackwood texture pack...

Carpark looks SHIT....
I was looking forward to this one, now it is the biggest anoyance of my lfs install, since I cant seem to find the another BL tarmac pack, without chessy carpark....

Nice work on the pack, but NEVER release without testing EVERY config on the track the texture pack is made for.....

Hehe, this could accualy be interesting see where ppl "come from" on this aspect

I played Merchedes Benz World Racing alot, figured how to add other cars, and do adjustments on them.
So me and some friends had fun drifting and racing in mbwr.

Then a friend of mine showed me lfs, and it looked stunning(at the time :P ), and I notised the feal of the car movment looked good.
I started driving(I used gamepad at the time), and I had big troubles controlling it.
I notised adjustment possibillities it the garage, witch you had to MOD in mbwr^^
After about an hour playing around in setup, I had a ball, and did rather okay in a new game.

A bit later, I got hold of a wheel, and then I was sold, never got looked back: LFS was/is the best driving simulator out there imo

Quote from masternick :its useless because it doesn't score you on so many things that make a good drift

it can't tell the difference between someone taking a good line or a bad line, it ignores transitions, proximity to other cars and walls/clipping points (the line), etc and just judges there speed and angle

jaco1981 using it to judge how well you are drifting will only teach you to drift worse because again it doesn't reward what 99% of drifters consider good drifting

I totaly agree on this.

When I try to run twin with someone on a drift server, the point drivers are easy to spot: all over the place, unpredictable, and slow :P

A good thing with the scoore thing is car controll, but calling it drifting is calling hockey for art imo xD

Use the point system for controll practise, and then try finding a line around the tracks to maintain a chained drift with just enough angle to pull it off.
It might be wide in slow corners, and narrow at highspeed corners, but it will be fluid

When you then get the opertunity to do this with a friend(or random dude), and you both have the same line around the track, close to eachother, THEN you know the awsome feal of a good twin session

Best of luck in the future of sideways action

Nice trolling m8

Freaking funny the hardcore racers shoot down good options for racers, just becouse "cruise" is mentioned

A open city, with open configuration, can be used for both racing, drifting, and cruising.
The more streets avaliable, the biger number of configurations can be set up for custom race configuration, same for drifting...

Cruisers can have fun with the open config, and have mayhem with the crashing, or buildt a crapload of roundabouts to prevent it

Racers and lfs users in general should be glad lfs is making cruisers buy the game, since it makes it harder for developers to toss in the towel...

We just need to face the fact: with realistic car handeling, interest for any car related usage of lfs will apear

Now, start flaming for bad english, opinions, aso....

This is a usefull feature I have been looking for, since my team have several servers, and a user banned from one server will be mannualy banned from the rest of the servers.
With a shared ban list, this issue resolves itself.
If friendly teams with same admins want to use the banlist, and avaliability to share a remote banlist on their servers, it will remove crashers and other unwanted users from the servers sharing the banlist, will result in less work for administrators.

If this is done by insim somehow, it might be helpfull to have some overview of what admin banned witch user, on what server.
Helpfull if a banned user asks "why am I banned from your server", you can inform that he got banned from a surten server by a surten admin
