'cardata', what LFSTweak edits. MecaniK EDITS the car types, they
are car classes if you will. They limit/offset the cardata values of a
group of car, to fit within certain specifications (constraints, parameters).

Did you try editing values ? The problem started with the formatting 'fix' i tried,
first i forgot to unquote ONE line, APPLY.enabled=True. We all know how that
went. So P05 has that part fixed, but you have to change a value, then click
another one sometimes for the change to really happen, THEN the apply button
becomes active. Oh, and please tell me you are using the P05 exe ? I want a
screenshot !

P04 and P05 arent working for me.
P01 does, so i guess ill stick with that

There's a couple of issues going around:

-Presets problems ?
-No car found ?
-APPLY not working/disabled/grayed out ?
-Missing file errors ?
-Can't scroll or search ?

That error is relatively easy to fix, i just didn't do it yet, but i'll do
it for the next update just because you posted a screenshot and i
can tell what the error is!

It's not easy to tell what's wrong exactly. Ok, so i'm assuming that MecaniK loads up, it finds
LFS and CAR then values DO show up in MecaniK. That u use it should mean that
APPLY works also (P02 didnt have that bug i think). Hopefully, this is all good and working
(i wonder what kind of media could provide such info..).

Now when you say nothing happens, did you pit out then pit in for the change to apply ?
Changing values, pressing apply, pitting out, then pitting in again does NOT update anything ?
What are you editing ?

Yep. But editing "time2rev" seems to make no difference , although the new idle rpm bit is nice. Oh and where did aero go?

By the way: Some of you might have the missing dll already in their windows\system32 folder, its just not registered...

To do so:

Start
Run

and then type in (or copy from my reply)

regsvr32 %systemroot%\System32\MSSTDFMT.dll

All been working fine for me. If I load a preset I have to change something for it to apply, or at least remove a number and then put it back again, but that's it.
Oh, one thing, if I close LFS, I have to restart Mekanik to get that working again. It won't "see" the cars unless I restart mekanik too.

Ya, thanks for that. I was thinking about this while looking at
the screenshot of the image. The problem is not that the file isn't
there, but that it isn't registered ! I tried removing all reference to
it, but seems i AM using it after all.

This procedure to register it is good information.

The program works without a hitch over here.

Just doesn't seem to work for me Load up 0.5P, it detects LFS is loaded but when i goto cars, i change a couple of the cars to see if it works and nothing :-/ I'm thinking it maybe something to do with all the crap i've got in my LFS folder so i'm going to download LFS again and do a scratch install and see if that helps. I'll get back to you with the details might be a fix for other people having issues xD

A full from scratch reinstall did the trick, working perfectly now.

yeah i get the error with the missing dll file with 0.4 and 0.5
i tried to register it, but it tries to register it from my second win installation.(yeah i have 2 time xp installed dont ask why lol)
just tell me how to get the presets saved, cause it wont work...

You can try to point to the dll in the right WinXP Folder...

for example if you have one WINDOWS and one WINXP folder for you installations you could also register the dll like this

regsvr32 C:\WINDOWS\System32\MSSTDFMT.dll

04 is running now, later i have to try if all works fine.

It was working fine with po1, then I downloaded po5 put in all the required files after fixing the error I was getting it worked but car not found I tried many times to get it working but nothing, So I put back the old lfs exe and started up po1 and "car not found" now I can't use mecanik at all.
