Yeah, thats pretty sweet lfs performance, looking at the benchmarks! Interesting to see how well it scales with the fsb increases. Also that your value ram goes up to (beyond?) ddr2-800 with the same cas!?!

You could probably have a race against 30 AI and still have max fps...

My AMD rig cost way more $ probably, but now gets trounced

Makes me want to build another pc so i can have lan races

nice rig!
Certain batches of Crucial DDR2-533 and DDR2-667 Value Ram has got Micron D9GMH chips on their PCBs. Those are also used for DDR2-1000 or even DDR2-1066 modules. That is why they can be run at those speeds. I already successfully tested DDR2-1000 at 5-5-5-15. DDR2-800 runs perfectly at 4-4-4-12. Some people also have those modules running at DDR2-800 with 3-3-3-9. But for those speeds it would need most likely about 2.3 or 2.4 volts. Without active cooling that is not really nice.

I'll continue to tweak all the timings and voltages. Maybe I can pull even more out of it. So stay tuned
I didn't payed for any of these, was a gift so i have nothing to complain at all .

Sweet rig, I want that video card!

What kind of monitor you use with it? I have 1680x1050 and am probably leaning towards the 320mb model.

Thx! I love it

I'm using a two year old LG 17* LCD, running 1280'1024 . Nothing fancy. I can set Oblivion, R6 Vegas and FEAR to max settings, and lag isn't present at all. This goes to LFS as well of course

With the kind of resolution that you are going to run, maybe the 320mb model will be a bit weak though? But i'm not the right person to make such statements, as i don't know for sure.
HI,

What a crap my pc I have:

Mainboard: Asus P4S533-E

HELP: I want to know what's going on with my pc. I want to do more overclocking but I can't more than 2500 because it doesn't enter the windows
with more. I think that is from the main board.

If someone can help me I apreciate .
I know that I have to up the Vcore but it doesn't works.
Probably are the memories but my 5 year motherboard don't support up to PC2700.
More probably is that the motherboard don't support more than 2500 mhz.

Well I think the right thing to do at this moment is buy a new computer.
I am thinking to buy it but only at the summer or christmas.
I am thinking in:

Motherboard: Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe
Graphic card: BFG\ASUS or XFX GeForce 8800 GTX
CPU: socket AM2 AMD athlon64 X2 4600+ with a zalman CNPS 9500 socket AM2 Led
Ram:G.Skill 2GB DDR2 800mhz
Monitor: Samsung 940BW
Speakers: Logitech Z5400 Digital
Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi xtreme audio
Power Suply: LC Power Arkangel 850W
HDD: Hitachi 250GB SATA 16MB 7200 RPM
Drive DVD: unknown.
all this in a Thermaltake Aguila Black with window

Is this a good PC ???

Thanks for the help.

EDIT: All this for 2000€ and I am thinking yet (nothing in project)
The wheel I have is good.
Logitech G25
A Core2Duo from Intel is definatly a better choice. They should be available for similar money.

By Summer, or certainly by winter, AMD will have new processors out, which may perform better than Intel, but certainly will be better than what they have now.
Quote from compjake :You might need to up your vcore (CPU's Voltage) and/or use faster memory. in my system I cant go over 3Ghz because I'm using cheap PC3200

I hope that helps

ever heard of a divider? on AMD's their hated, even though theres no proof to show it slows them down (except of course the fact the memory is running slower)

@GTR_PT - Bbbbbottleneck! Get a GTS and an Intel Core 2 Duo
...? dont have the option?

if your mobo is good enough to get to 3 GHz, you MUST have an Intel

Quote from compjake :I think its funny how everyone has there computer LFS setups but what no one has mentioned to do get a car (working or not) and mount screens across all the windows and get a good computer to power them and mod the steering wheel, gears, and pedals and put in the computer versions. Now who doesn't agree that would be awesome? I would do it if i could lol

I'd stick my G25 in my car if I was bored enough....but the 7" screen and VIA mini-itx motherboard just don't exactly translate to LFS-goodness.
Quote from compjake :Thats why you get 4 really really big wide screen LCD's and get a much better computer lol

It's a carPC, lol....not supposed to play games... just a simple little GPS/MP3/video machine.

That's how big the case is (the one to the left).... and the monitor is even smaller...
