this was sort of inspired by by teammate willy, since he got his g25 when it came out, and then most of the LFS community changed their gear to g25, but i thought why not get something more? so after some looking around i decided to go with the shifter and pedals. The shifter feels very good, it even feels better than a real car in some ways. The pedals are very precise, especically the throttle, which can really improve laps times since you get a better feeling around corners when accelerating.

Overall, i enjoy LFS much more than before with these gears
Nice system there bro (woot!), id just like to know how you get a different view on the other monitor, as i have a 6800XT with twin DVI, i think it would be cool to have a permanent rear view (i always drive bonnet cam on main screen)

Finally got my G25 a while ago.. It's great with LFS. -And a bigger CRT (P275- 21" flat CRT 1600 x 1200 @ 100hz, up to 2048 x 1536 @ 75hz)..

BUT-

I got a 52" Aquos LCD HDTV that does 1080p, and I'm eventually going to hook up a media center/ gaming PC in the living room. That will be the perfect display for LFS/ RBR/ rF/ GTR2, FPS games, etc..

TV- one w/ flash one without- (I need a newer digital camera)..

Nice setup! I love my G25 too.

What does Monitor #2 do when you're lfs'ing?

I am in the deciding process on getting a tv for my apartment, and I was thinking about doing the same thing about future setup media/gaming living room. Only problem is I'm not planning on going 1080p, and Playing with 720p really limits what/how-far you can see on track.... maybe someday.
Hi, thanks..

Second monitor just hangs out.. displaying background while games are playing.

In GTR2 there is a 3rd party application that displays lap times, tire temps, etc, etc, etc.. that I put on the second display while the game is running. It is nice in photoshop where I can put all menus over there and use the main screen for only displaying the image I am working on.

Once I thought I might try to make a 3 monitor display setup with a Matrox triple head (expensive), but since I got that TV, I will never do that. I would just make up or buy a cockpit for the pedals and wheel, and then just move it close to the 52" TV and have that fill my field of view. To me it would be better than the the triple head method.. the TV does 1080p, so I'll be able to run most racing games in full glory.. That won't happen for a while though, I need to get an 8800GTX/ case/ Intel CPU/ memory, etc first..

Thats good fps for that rig

Run with 6x AA and 16x AF for about 60 constant, heavy traffic goes 30ish, but maintains smoothish allways

Since the overclock fps seem capped at 59.8.... Any help on that would be appreciated, and no its not limited in game :|
Have you got V-sync enabled in LFS? It looks like your limited to 59.8 due to your monitor's refresh rate, which is what V-sync does when it's on. Try turning it off and see what happens.

Yeah, I also noticed that when I'm by myself, it can get up to around a steady 100fps with a XRT on BLGP.

Did you check both in game under Misc, and in your video card control panel? Either one of those could be setting Vsync to be active.

In the Catalyst Control Center, set it to advanced mode, and under "all settings" find "wait for vertical refresh", and set it to "always off" or "off, unless application specifies".

If that's already done, or you still seem capped at 60fps, let us know and we'll try and help more.

Okay i'll have a fiddle about when i get home
hehe atm i've got a:
80GB HDD
256mb RAM(RIP 1gig )
GeForce FX5700LE 128mb AGP
Intel Celeron 2Ghz

and this will be my next love veryyyy soon:

250GB HDD
1gig RAM
GeForce 7600GT
AMD Dual X-2 3800+@2Ghz AM2
and SLI compatible motherbord
AMD Athlon Xp 2800+ (Barton Core)
OCZ 1GB DDr
Asus MB (cant recall model now)
Seagate 500GB 7200rpm 16mb hdd
Maxtor 80gb 720rpm 8mb
Ati All-In-Wonder X800XT 256mb
Creative SB Audigy Platinum
Antec Full Tower Case
Plextor Slot-loading 16x DVD Burner
Plextor Tray-loading 40x CD-Burning
19" Samsung SynceMaster 900NF CRT

FpS = 60 With AA/AF set to max (limit it to 60fps could go higher but no point, rather use the extra power to make everything else smooth then trying to get more FPS that i don't need)

I think thats all.....
I checked in my control panel and in game, Vertical Sync is off, Moniter Refresh is set to 75, so is it in game Any help ?

Might be a graphics card setting. On my x850xt Temporal Anti-Alailasisisaising limits fps to my screen refresh rate, 60 fps. Doesn't bother me, highest quality is my fav.

Try turning all graphic card settings down to low qual, see if you are still limited, then one-by-one go through turning em on up.
For some reason my system seems to keep up quite well with most games.

AMD Athlon XP 1800+ @ 1.5 ghz
ATI 9550
70 gb hard drive with only 10gig to spare.
512MB ram should 1024 but when my brother took a stick out to try in his PC it didn't get plugged in properly (not his fault, it's in a rediculously hard to reach place), so it's lose in there but I can't be arsed to plug it in properly.

In LFS I get around 60 fps but dips when alot happens on screen.
On counter strike source I get around 30-45 fps with everything on high in 1024 x 768. It seems to be some sort of wonder machine.
Time for mine... But don't laugh It's 2 years old, so.
