The online racing simulator
Tbfh 50fps is more than enough as long as it's a stable 50fps.. mine's limited to 90 and never really dips below 35 (which about as low as you can go while still being totaly smooth) unless there are some 30 other cars on screen and there are loads of AutoX objects about.

I have seen 130-150fps without the limiter, bearing in mind this is normally with 6 or 8 cars in draw.. I'm happy with the graphics my humble PC puts out (as high as LFS will go + 4x AA (can't see a difference above it) and 8x AA at 1280x1024 (monitors native).

PC's are tools, they're gaming consoles, they're communication platforms. They're not things to show off to your friends, because at the end of the day, who care if you have a super quick PC.. some people don't even have the crappiest P2 based system...
I never posted my laptop on here now did I?

I'm trying it this year with LFS and it's not that bad. I runs pretty much the same as my tower (a little lower FPS in starts, but higher overall).

:wtf2: are you kidding me?
And what benefit over 100fps does that give you besides bragging rights?

Thought so..
LFS only uses one core and one graphic's card too, so alot of your pc power isn't even being used
I have this:

I can push the CPU higher(current load temp is 47C) but the mobo's VRMs and capacitors around the CPU socket get extremely hot and it concerns me.
Probably going to ride this graphics card out until ATI's 5850/5870 cards are available.

Quote from MINIz guy :

Time to explain what I have going on. Updated with a new PSU, the Corsair TX750. Nothing worth taking new pictures over. Hoping this setup lasts me 3 more years, then I'll be building another small PC for college.
  • Cooler Master HAF932
  • Asus P5W DH Deluxe 1.04G (BIOS 2206. Haven't been successful updating to 2801, but I will get to it one day!)
  • Intel E6300 @ 2.87GHz (BIOS is limiting the factor. The older BIOS 2004 gave me a 2.89GHz clock)
  • Corsair XMS2 DHX 4GB 820MHz
  • GeCube X1950XT 512MB GDDR3
  • Seagate 7200.10 160GB
  • Corsair TX750
  • Swiftech GTZ CPU Block, Swiftech MCR 220 Radiator, Swiftech MCP350 w/ Alphacool Plexi Top, Swiftech Micro Reservoir
  • Thermaltake AT3 GPU Block, Thermaltake Bigwater SE Radiator & Pump & Reservoir
  • Sunbeam Rheobus
  • Windows XP Professional 32-bit
Proccesser: Intel Pentium 4 2.40 GHz
Graphics Card: Nvidia 6400 PCI (256 MB)

RAM: 768 MB (One 256, the other 512 MB)
Windows XP Professional SP2
40 GB HDD
CD + DVD/R Drives
Dell Keyboard
Dell Mouse
Logitech DualAction2 USB Controller

I've maxed this PC out to the max. Believe me, it's really old. And also I get an average of around 45-50 FPS online too.
Finally got a photo of the desk. (oops, it's running rFactor in that pic .. )

Core i7 920
1GB GTX285
6GB Corsair Dominator DDR3
Gigabyte EX58-UD5 motherboard
3 x 22" monitors
Custom painted Silverstone Tj07 case
Watercooled CPU

It's a bit of a mess in there at the moment, I'm going to clear it up in a few weeks when I add the GTX285 to the water-loop. The pump's also being moved down into the bottom section.
