before they said it because of some deal that was supposed to go through. now its because they're near the goal of 3.75 mill or 3.7 mil i forgot the exact amount.
Quote from PaulC2K :Not sure why they've forced FA tyres, i know it was possible to do but it seems a little backwards to give a Rookie the FA levels of tyre grip etc.

They use an entirely new tire model, so they want to get the physics right on the car that has the most extreme forces, which is the FA atm.

If they get that right, they move to the less extreme

Ok, I haven't seen the picture

The funding thing is not introduced in the forum, but just looking at the stats, I would say it's close to done

I was getting confused with what they've done in terms of forcing the same thing onto all cars, it certainly makes the most sense to use the most stressful car the car to primarily test with.

Seems theres a new fantasy track too:

is that track for seniors only?
i dunno, i C&P'd the links from elsewhere, i was looking for the thread, and then all hell let loose in the NASCAR race when it turned to Royale Rumble with garage fights then one of the drivers charging down the pitlane looking to get in on the action

edit - i cant find a thread, so im suspecting its been sneaked out by someone who has got access to it.
Found the thread (ok, i asked on the other place, and was told )
http://forum.wmdportal.com/sho ... amp;viewfull=1#post307662

Nothing on who can use it, but "I quickly did some sketches of a track which would be fun to include as a thank you to members though" sounds like it should be accessible to full members at least, rather than only to people who've paid over full retail which is no longer achievable (i believe people can still upgrade to full, might be wrong)
it looks nice, but i want something narrow and twisty.
I guess it might still be quite twisty, the existing tracks are fairly twisty for a decent portion of the track, the first half of the Cali track is pretty technical, but i think they cant do it too narrow because it then becomes impossible to race on, and there still needs to be 2 lane as they're public roads, its not rally so there wouldnt be dirt tracks or anything so narrow that you couldnt have 2 way traffic.

Theres certainly been plenty of people in these forums who've been begging for tracks similar to these 3 (A-to-B) in LFS.
I tend to be hopeless at them though, some people just seem to have the ability to do something right and then repeat it over and over, i just cant do that, takes me forever to get a corner nailed pretty decent, and the more corners there are the more there is to remember and cause me to forget things, so its bad enough on a 60-90sec lap track when you can get into a rhythm, but these 10min tracks are a nightmare for me.
Nordschlieffe being an exception, purely due to repetition in multiple games, which you wont get when they're fictional tracks.
First build test for me since the introduction of the new tire model. Some cars I feel are pretty strange. The open wheelers on the other hand tend to make a lot more sense and the formula rookie especially is really shining. Worth a check out if you'd given up earlier imo.
Can somebody post a description for this new tire model thing? I found a 2002 patent from a guy called "Seta" but the level of detail described in that document seems to be too high for real time even on toady's hardware. Maybe WMD got a simplified version?
Latest build has the lemans Ford GT40,very tasty car, lots of slippy action and great sound
Tango
So you are busy there now?

Not too sound harsh or anything but it seems to get attractive? I have an account there too but didnt use it since summer.
[QUOTE=cargame.nl;1767341]So you are busy there now?/QUOTE]
Nope, just been busy with other stuff
Tango
GT40 at any track plus rain means al oad of sideways action
Quote from Bose321 :Have fun updating.

Cannot be bothered too much with it atm.

Multiplayer seems to be very basic still, until there are no significant improvements there, I just simply wait.
I like where this is going, It really starts coming together. The car under- and oversteers when it should be and is just a pleasure to watch. (Still not proper tires)

Online, as far as I know the disconnected players disappear now, there are password protected servers, custom setups work, the player leader board works. IMO also online it starts to get interesting. (even though I haven't played for month :schwitz

Obviously still pre alpha and still the cars don't have the finished tiremodel etc etc.

Oh and a 51 player online race

After the most recent build (375) and a FFB tweaker that a user uploaded I'm finally enjoying myself driving in this one with the Z4 GT3. Honestly feel that, now, it's my favorite GT car in a sim. LFS still takes it for street cars and small formulae, and rF2 has it for vintage F2s.
They sneaked in a rebadged Mercedes SLS into todays build, its a Junior build too so everyone is invited.

Was just firing up a server for myself and pecker to try the Focus RS and i went in to 'Road' car selection and saw a weird (S) type logo, had a look and my jaw dropped

We took it out for a while around Suzuka, the FFB is very light, but its amazing to drift around the first sector of Suzuka as the corners flow nicely for it. I cant stand drifting, and im crap at it, but controlling it while sideways and bringing it back in was relatively easy, without being artificial.

There was a comment from the devs that a German manufacture had actually approached them about getting into the game, that was all they'd said, so could likely have included a 'you can have x & y for $$$$' but its possible that Mercedes were that company, although this wasnt all that long ago, since xmas perhaps, so quite quick movement to get an SLS modelled and in-game, so maybe they've been in talks with them for a while and its another company who got in touch... dunno, but its interesting.
seems i cant register
Haha, that wheel lift looks awesome.

Tried the E30 this weekend and I must say I am really amazed by how awesome this feels! The car feel resembled me somewhat of a XRT.

This is turning out to be a great game.

Btw, is the Silverstone track in this game? If so, under what name?

edit: That Focus is either understeering or oversteering, what a (fun) disaster. The SLS on the other hand is brilliant.
Is that tyre degradation on the track?
^ those gigantic marbles are on the track before you even do anything. they will be improved later.
