How can I make a grid in BL car park? I'd like to have multiple cars start at once.

I've been in tons of servers with custom grids in AU tracks. I can't figure out how to do it there either.

Help!

Sounds like someone changed his notification email in LFS instead of stealing his password.

We can put this to bed really easily.

Three server side options.

-Forced setup "SETUPNAME" or "DEFAULT"
-Limit set options.
-Normal

I noticed the OZ racing textures on the FBMs new wheels are messed.

Quote from Brilwing :If you have configured a insim password in LFS you also need to enter the same password at the SIG config.
If you do not have an insim password, the password field in the SIG config must then be empty.

That's the thing. I can't remember if I ever have, what I put it too, or how to view it. I haven't been able to find any information about it either. Care to point me in the right direction?

Mine can't establish a connection with LFS. Why? LFS says something about my INSIM password not being right or something.

You guys should really do a video podcast on iTunes.
Gear Indicator Delete?

I noticed that with the new patch Z that a great deal of effort has gone into the visual dashboards to make them look really realistic. Mission accomplished!

I, like many others I assume, drive with a Logitech G25. I drive with the driver and wheel model off. (no offense wheel modeler!) The new interiors on the road cars look fantastic. But now with the new dials and interiors the gear indicator looks really out of place.

My request is this. Could we please get the option to turn off the gear indicator? A lot of us have H pattern peripherals which makes the gear indicator redundant for the most part.

We all love Live For Speed. I do as well. It has taught me a great deal about driving.

I'm currently writing a paper about driving simulators in general and their uses. My instructor suggested that I hit up some forums in order to hopefully broaden my view on the subject.

I would love to hear what you believe that LFS, or sims in general, has taught you .

I would also like to hear what you believe the biggest downsides are when using a simulator to improve your driving skill.

Thanks very much for your time everyone. I will be watching this thread like a hawk.

If your also wondering I will probably be demoing LFS for my final presentation and have allready taught my sister to drive manual using LFS.

Quote from skstibi :
I got my replacement G25 2 days ago but this replacement one is loud, feels rough, gives 2X as much strength as the first one, and the shifter is a pain in the A$$ (the new knob is nicer tho )

Is this a new revision?

Quote from Scawen :Because it's not how paddle shifts work in real life. It also meant you had to do very quick pull and release, to get the fastest times. Sometimes this would lead to a missed change. Beginners on LFS often hold it for a second or two, and get peculiar behaviour. It needed to be fixed for the BF1 so I just thought I'll do it for everything, and it's one less "weird" thing that needs to be explained to people. Also it's not needed as much as it was in early versions of LFS, because the autoclutch works quite well for pulling away at low speeds. So I noticed that I never used this feature any more. I decided that people who want to use clutch, can simply assign a clutch button.

Your getting no arguments here about that. I fully understand your thinking.

However I taught a friend how to revmatch downshift on his own by holding the lever slightly longer to help make for a smooth change. Hes complained ever since from the new patch as he lost that bit of control over his shifts. I've long since moved to Hpattern and clutch so that problem doesn't occur to me anymore. I liked having more control over my sequencail change. But in the GTR/Open wheeled machines require a very very fast change indeed.

Im curious. Why was the 'holding lever no longer holds clutch' implemented?

Quote from Ball Bearing Turbo :Well, IMHO a real car does not function this way therefore neither should LFS :hide:

Not necesarily in a real car sequential lever doesn't interact with the clutch. The player had more control with the 'hold clutch' than now.

Scawen: Why has the 'sequentail hold clutch' been taken away from ALL the cars?

I used the technique of holding the stick back for a longer change or to give me more time to revmatch.

Before my computer updates the car location packet the car drives through a 'soft' barrier which obliterates the suspension.
