Can either or both of you try an upload again and reply here when you have tried? I need some more debug information which hopefully I'll get when you try.

Unfortunately the same issue from last week returned today at our hosting provider, causing unstable connectivity. And no, it's not a ddos. They are working on troubleshooting the issue. Hopefully it will be resolved soon and for good.

Quote from Eclipsed :Will there be an option to upgrade existing server?

Quote from pantiainen :Hey, would it be possible to change server slot amount to maximum at mid-period and pay the extra for rest of it? And was it possible also at renewal?

On your host's edit pages there is now a new Upgrade tab from where you can upgrade your host. The tab is only visible if the host is a subscription host and not already allows 79 slots.

There's also a bit of logic behind it:

If the host subscription has an open extension, that extension (and corresponding subscription) will be upgraded. The host slots will be upgraded after the extension is paid.

Otherwise, if the upgrade cost (price different relative to the remaining time of the subscription period) is less than 50 pennies, you get the upgrade for free. The subscription and host are upgraded immediately to the new desired slot amount. Of course when it's time to extend the host, the new price will be charged.

Otherwise, a subscription upgrade item is added to your basket, charging the upgrade price difference. The subscription and host will be upgraded after payment.

Quote from MicroSpecV :And also, filesize upload needs to be increased, as layout .lyt files now exceed 20kb. Cheers!

The allowed size has been increased now. Thanks for reporting!

Yeah this is quite rare. In the 11 years we've been with i3D.net there's never been any network problems at all. This should be a one off and in the past again.
Network outage at hosting provider
Victor

Hello all,

Just a short message to report there was a fairly big network outage at our hosting provider.

It looks to be resolved for the moment. I hope the problem is fixed, but there may be further downtime as they do not yet know if everything is ok.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

Will hotlap uploading be enabled for this version?

"You cannot upload hotlaps made with LFS version 0.7E"

ah yes, 7E hotlaps are now accepted.

Did a small test, the server would start on 7D version but not on 7E.

Hi I debugged your host - it looks like the rst min value was set to 300 which is out of bounds. I've set it to 30 for the moment. apparently the max is 240, so I need to adjust the validation on that value to prevent this error

EDIT - fix deployed and I've set the value to 240 for the host.

Sorry, I missed this one. Looking at the indexing process and testing it though, it seems to work now. I've been changing a lot of internal things lately - maybe you tried when I was working on the search function.

The problem seems fixed, but oddly enough I don't know why or what the problem was. I just copied an old nginx config file back in place and my test upload worked now. Need to analyse the differences between the two config files.

I'm investigating. It's not immediately clear why this is.

Thanks for the report - also fixed.

Ah the layout is actually uploaded to the host immediately after uploading the layout on the website.

Anyway, in LFS I think you're trying to load the layout in the wrong way. The correct command should be: /axload 40Grid
And make sure you've first loaded the track it was made for.
Victor

Did you first upload it, and then selected the uploaded layout and uploaded it to the host? See the option in the drop down. Without that second step it won't yet be available on the host.

I have enabled game server hosting for version 0.7D50 for the moment. You can update your subscription host to that version or if you start an in-game host using LFS version 0.7D50, it will also use that version.

Side note: the hosting system is still limited to 47 slots. We need to make some additional changes to support 79 slots.

LFS Platform Maintenance (done for now)

Hi all,

I wanted to give you an update of a big ongoing LFS Platform Maintenance.

You may have noticed some bad performance of the LFS Website and in-game stats lately. This was caused by a badly performing, old server. Stats processing would sometimes be delayed, causing PB messages to be delivered in-game too late and creating a new host might fail because internal communication would be delayed. The website and especially the forums would sometimes take a while to load or even time out.

I have updated our server resources and am moving things around. I'm done with the most important parts and you should already have noticed a big difference in website and stats processing since last Wednesday.

Today I've continued moving things around, mostly files used by forum and news attachments, car skins and setups and verhicle mods.

I think this went well and probably you won't have noticed anything. But because this consisted of more than just a dns change, there is a chance that something slipped through the cracks. If you notice anything not working, please let me know! You can use this thread for any reports.

Thanks for enduring the former bad performances - this is a thing of the past now.

Enjoy and have fun!

Victor
