Sorry for the late response, I noticed the car a few days ago, it’s really awesome! I just sort of lack the skill to drive it properly I think… I’m having a hard time getting the tires up to temperature and thus experience a lot of understeer and instability through corners, the car unsettles quite easily if I touch the curbs and then suddenly loses grip completely going from understeer to oversteer… It’s probably just my lack of skill or inability to warm the tires properly before going full out with the car…
I was also expecting to see something like a lmp/prototype/group c car by now… maybe not necessarily a precise replica of a real car, but more a “LFS” style car to match the original cars in the game…
I was watching the race on Sim Broadcasts yesterday and really got eager to try this car. I was a bit hesitant at first when I heard about the car (before watching the race) but watching this car go around and now having tried it myself, I’m completely hooked on it It’s very fun to drive, pretty stable but when the rear does step out, it’s easy to catch again
I also made a simple skin for it “NASCAR inspired” with the big numbers on the sides and roof to give it a bit of a historical look.
Been driving it a bit this morning A lot of fun, but hard to keep it on the asphalt… some lift off oversteer and it has a tendency to spin as soon as you look at a corner… could be setup or driver error though hehe… The (front) suspension could use a bit of ‘beefing up’, it looks like the wheels are attached with wire thin rods…
Hi all!
A short bit of history to begin with... Years ago I made a personal helmet design in LFS, it was my first time ever being able to have a personal helmet design in a game. At the time I had the proper tools to make it, and it looked pretty decent in the game. A few years later my pc died and I couldn’t play LFS anymore and didn’t have any other possibility to play a game that allowed for custom helmet designs until a few years ago, a “helmet livery editor” was added to the editor inside Gran Turismo Sport, so I of course recreated my personal design. The editor was pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it. In the past few years my personal helmet design evolved a bit to what it is today. When I got back into LFS a few months ago, I obviously wanted to recreate my personal helmet design again, but my skills in the editing of skins in external software is lacking a great deal unfortunately.
So because of my lacking skills comes my request for someone to recreate my helmet design for use in LFS. I’ve seen a few examples here on the forum of personal helmets with some very realistic looking details, especially around the hinge of the visor.
Below are shots from what my helmet looks like in GTS as a reverence, I can send the team logo if someone is willing to help (although it’s a simple logo, I’d rather not have to source file floating around for anyone to take). The only difference from the GTS version I’d want in the LFS version is the visor banner to have the Thrustmaster logo instead of the Gran Turismo logo (in GTS you can’t edit the visor banner).
Many many many thanks in advance to anyone willing to do this for me.
Thanks! I’m finding out how easy racing on the PS4 in GTsport is compared to LFS Finding the correct braking points, which gear to use etc is pretty hard, but I’m slowly making progress
I had a small issue with the screen resolution as the desktop didn’t fit the tv screen But after some digging, I located the Nvidia software and adjusted the resolution to fit properly With the tv in gaming mode there’s no observable input lag (at least not for me).
The computer is probably a bit overkill for just LFS, with 1 car on track it hits 300+ fps, with 14 ai cars (15 cars in total) the fps was still around 250-ish Also online in a pretty crowded cruise lobby there was no noticeable frame drop of any kind.
All in all I’m very happy with it, just wish I could turn off the green led light on the front, it’s pretty cool at first, but gets annoying quite quickly
Hi guys,
Technically I’m not new, but I got back after ~10 years away from LFS My new gaming pc arrived today and it works like a charm runs LFS well in triple digits fps, with everything maxed out. Also, LFS looks actually a lot better than I expected and remembered! Although to be fair, the laptop I ran LFS on ~10 years ago wasn't really up to the task I’m also finding out I’m quite terrible at racing, but that was to be expected So I’m going to need quite a lot of practice to be somewhere near decent, or at least not a danger to others on track
I’ve included a few pics of the pc just for giggles...
Hi again!
It’s been a while, but there’s good news! My overtime from last year will be paid out in my next paycheck, so I might be able to get a pc in the coming week! Although it depends on how much its going to be, but most likely enough to buy a pc (I could be wrong though, in that case it’s going to be a little while longer).
I’ve been eyeing a particular pc for a few days now, that looks like it has specs that are probably more than sufficient(??) to run LFS and maybe some other sims as well...
It might be another week unfortunately... payckeck came, but without the overtime added to it... ohwell... the PC I want is currently temporary sold out anyway

Update;
Ordered a pc yesterday! same specs as above, but 8Gb ram instead of 16Gb as that version was still soldout 😞 Should arrive on Saturday 😎
Maybe people can send the money via Paypal to one of the devs in their available currency instead of dollar/euro and arrange the devs to unlock their account? Via vouchers or something?
I work for a company that sorts and packs fruit, apples and pears mostly. The whole virus situation isn’t really effecting us too much fortunately, although work is slowing down a bit currently, but that’s normal for the time of the year.
Unfortunately as the devs explained, they don’t have the time/money/resource to spend on fighting these things.
Unless someone in the community is a lawyer specialized in these kind of cases and willing to pay for it out of their own pocket, nothing is probably going to happen...
Scheduled maintenance usually takes a bit longer than the 20-ish minutes the server was down, also a ddos would probably have taken the servers out for a longer time. So probably just a local ‘hiccup’ causing the servers to reboot or something?
Shame the wheel was so bad, although Jimmy set it up wrong..
But I think LFS would definitely benefit from having a few of the big sim racing YouTubers playing and promoting it. Jimmy does have a video on LFS but as far as I know, just one, don’t think he ever came back to it, if LFS were one of the games he played regularly, it would get a lot of exposure.
