The movements look quite realistic.. but something similar is beyond my abilities (I think it's done with that head tracking system?).
Been working on a heartbeat sound but it turns out to be really difficult I had a 1.5sec. sample which I tried to paste like 100 of them together but every time you go from 1.5sec. segment to the next you hear a sort of 'static' noise. With that every 1.5sec it gets pretty annoying after a second or 10
If anyone has a good (long, 1min.+) heartbeat soundclip (a fast heartbeat is preferred) I would love to hear about it
I've been busy with the overlay this afternoon.. well.. I 'lent' one from Race07 and edited it a bit. I plan on making one myself, but this is for getting idea's on how to make one.
Thanks
I'm working on making a better, more detailed helmet overlay. I've been looking around the web for inspiration from games like Race 07 and GP4.
The hight can be adjusted, but the tilt is at it's max unfortunately (in-game)..
Thanks
The idea of blinking came to mind too, gotta figure out how to do that though... maybe just a black frame for like 1/100th of a second or something.. Also still searching the web for breathing and heart beating sounds.. the breathing I could record myself, but the quality would probably suck..
I make my video's with iMovie (from iLife '08) I run LFS on my MacBook via CrossOver [that's why the quality of the recorded video is pretty bad] and recorded the video with "iShowU".
Don't know if iMovie has a function to tilt/rotate the video clips.. But I thought LFS kinda made it look like the driver tilts his(/her) head in the corners as it does 'recreate' the forward motion during braking.
Thanks
Well, the 'helmet cam' refers to the helmet overlay I tried to make (working on a better one atm). But I think I've should gave it a different name "Drivers perspective" or something.
If something get's on my nerves and.. well.. NOT chilled, it's racing on a server where crashing is allowed... I can get red hot furious after being rammed off the track for the millionth time So not relaxing at all
Anyway, I gotta agree with what's stated above many times.. lag crashes and (in my opinion) bad music take a bit off of the experience..
Yup, the only fix for the quality is a better (new) computer I think But I don't actually know what went wrong with the sound.. Maybe I had a setting wrong so sound wasn't recorded. In the 'original idea' I wanted the car sound plus some kind of breathing and a hearthbeat sound to give it that real feeling you're actually there.. Also i had a better overlay in mind.. with some dirt and stuff on the visor..
