Yeah, both Pc's are on the net and working brill. Is it normal for the internet to seem quicker with a router and a laptop going upstairs?

Thanks for that jmkz, do I do that in MS Dos console?

So anyone able to tell me how to browse and download files off the laptop and vica versa?
Sharing files over my network?

Right I am 100% new to this. I brought myself the BT voyager 2110 router and the card that goes into the laptop. What I want to know is, is there anyway to share files from comp to comp offline? Or has it all got to be done online? If so how?

Is there any easy way I can send messages to the laptop offline? I remeber I could do a trick at school where you would put a line of code in a emtpy doc, save it as a .bat file then run it and it would send to the comp you put in the doc. Anyone know that trick?

And before you mention any Instant message name, thats one thing I want to aviod.

Any help on this would be great, thanks

Quote from tristancliffe :The other reason they don't look happy is people like you on scaffolding shouting "Aright luv, give us a flash..."

We have to go threw a induction where someone tells you all the rules of the site. 1 of the rules is that we are not allowed to shout things off the scaffold to the women. But as they say, you can look but not touch
Well and the fact the area we are in, lets just say I know why Tristan lives there (not to expensive according to someone at work) :icon23:

Quote from tristancliffe :So it's you causing all the traffic jams my parents have been telling me about near Carrow Road/Riverside/Colman's etc. I just knew it had to somehow be LFS related :S

I found out why there is traffic jams, everyone in Norwich seems to be lost. I don't know how many people have asked me where so and so is, bit of a problem when I live 80 mile away. Is there anyone in Norwich that knows where they are?

Once again Norwich really followed the forecast, 1 min its raining next its so sunny you can sun sunbathe then back again.

tristancliffe have all the women in Norwich lost their smiles? Don't matter what time it is they all walk around like the worlds gonna end illepall
Weather forcast for Norwich in a class of its own?

I have been working on a building site right next to the Norwich football ground and it does not matter what the weather forecast is, Norwich seems to do something of its own.

A example.
Today the forecast for Norwich was drizzle in the morning and fine for the rest of the day. Got there at 8:00 am after enduring the normal 1 1/2 hour drive from my house in which it drizzled all the way there, which was right. But for the rest of the day it chucked it down. It was that wet that it dripping all the way though 5 levels of scaffold.

Any other places like this in the UK that I should watch out for if I ever get there?

Right, I have a budget of ~£200
I want it mainly for gaming.
I have a ASUS Geforce 7800GT graphics card which has 2 DVI slots.
I want to get it from a shop, so if for any reason it needs to go back or something, it can be easliy. The shops I have to choose from so far are:

If CRT means a big lump out the back of the moniter, then I would rather not have that, I have always thought that flatscreens have better image quality, am I wrong?

If someone can compile a list of things I should look out for that would be amazing.
Thanks alot for all of your replies
Getting a new moniter, what to know?

ATM I am running 2 CRT 15" moniters. But I am going to buy myself a 17" flat panel moniter but what do I need to know? I read alot about waiting time and things like that and have not got a clue what it means. So hopefully some people out there will be able to explain things for me. Thanks

I had a stab at it GianniC. In this render I saw that less was more in terms of effectiveness.
I could not do the XFG render as Ian.H has not done it yet
But tell me what you think

Credit goes to Ian.H and the maker of them wheels
