Whilst this is all great, and this isn't directed at you Stefan; this isn't the only forum you have to visit. There are millions of others out there, and some are even dedicated to analysing Hijack This logs - imagine that! I would take your logs to somewhere where people actually have experience personally. I would also lose about 80% of that list, but that's just me

Edit: Try Virtumundobegone. Google it I guess, people say it works.

Quote from [RF]-art555 :Does anyone konw if you can connect trailers to the Truck as it was possible in GTA:SA? Can't do it

You can't. In fact the whole game is pretty limited compared to SA etc.

Yer I have Air Mouse too. I prefer to use the trackpad feature, which is just as good as a lappy touch pad. Makes controlling videos etc much easier when sitting across the room.

Also try Apple's Remote for iTunes, very useful for changing music anywhere in the house.

Quote from dawesdust_12 : Just for everyones information, I've never actually heard my MBP's fan get that loud without me using SMC Fan Control.

Try video encoding on it, that'll ramp em up to around 5K rpm. FTR I use SMC Fan Control too, for various tasks.

The X1950 was a very strong card of it's time... Might be a different one you're thinking about.

Quote from mookie427 :
I know plenty of girls and I just figure if anything happens between me and any of them it'll happen, not gonna force anything

The girl I mentioned previously. She was, and thankfully still is, a good friend.

It did 'just happen' between us really, you know how it is, you spend so much time with someone that you feel completely comfortable around them, then you're out one night and one thing leads to another. Shouldn't have done what we did etc, puts friendship in jeopardy. It was slightly more complicated than that, but I don't need to go into it here.

Luckily I'm a very easy going guy and we both just saw it as fun, so we got over it. Getting with friends however is very rarely a good thing.

Quote from tongey :Dougie, The PSU mentioned in my post is a Dell Compatible replacement for the dimension 4700

You are probably right about the 9800 gtx not fitting though, which is why I mentioned it. Was not 100% sure

I am wondering though, could a Dell system just be moved to a new/bigger case? - I know it is not an ideal situation but surely less expensive than replacing EVERYTHING

I have a feeling Dell motherboards are rarely ATX form factor, they have different mounting points at least. Not sure a transplant would work.

I do find it funny people saying they are happy with 20fps though. Since when was that an acceptable frame rate?!

Thing is on English roads I bet you can as much fun with 100bhp as you can with 400 on American roads. (Yes I know, massive generalisation).

There's a little road by me, single track, that is just sublime for driving. When we were young and foolish you'd get some mates at either end to watch and warn you about traffic, then go for a proper blast. TBH there were usually only 1 or 2 cars coming along per hour, twas just a back-route for the main road. Full of first and 2nd gear corners, when you're spinning the wheels in 2nd with only 90bhp like we had at the time, you wonder if you really need any more.

Quote from Jakg :
I tried the expensive Shell VPower petrol for my MOT, and my Dad commented on how the emissions were better than last time by a lot - which is most likely down to the fuel as it's had no other engine stuff done.

Help, please?

Or that you've given it a blast compared to last time where it was driven around town at low revs?

Quote from Intrepid :Modern kids, especially in the UK, haven't had anything to get beefed about so naturally the music has lacked a real bite.

Im not really sure what does happen these days. So much of the world that we see every day is fake, driven by money and greed. Sure there's trouble around the world, but as you say, nothing has really happened here for a while (by here I mean the Western world).

After watching Almost Famous again the other night I've been taking a further interest in that period (late 60s/early 70s), I'm not sure that music around that time was built upon anger, quite the opposite in fact.

Truth is, nothing with real impact seems to happen these days. As people like to say, we're all numbed by the media, nothing major like drugs have hit the scene in a big way, life just seems to drift on. God knows when it'll change.

Hmm I'm not so sure. I don't think that in 30, 40 years we'll look back and see a massive void around this period of time, where music was rubbish.

I would imagine our tastes in music will have changed by then, and we'll look back and say, well the turn of the 21st century was a time of money-hungry record companies, but it lead to x style of music, which was so much better than the crap being produced today.

I don't know what defines 'good music'. I know what I like, some of it ranging from the good times of the 60s (bearing in mind I was born in the late 80s), right up to some of the cheese and crap being produced today.

That Rihanna song mentioned, that samples the Numa Numa song. Sure it's a shite song, but you can't deny when it gets played in a club it gets everyone jumping. Maybe that's what we, as a population, like these days.

Good music to me is something that sounds good, something that makes you think, and something that puts you in a good mood. Whilst today's rap might not achieve that on all levels, there is still music being produced that does. And it doesn't necessarily fall under the niche market, or the non-mainstream

I dunno about you guys but drinking liters and more liters of the same drink in one evening isn't really that much of a enjoyment for me, I like to drink yes and I like beer, but one of the reasons why I like strong spirits is that I don't need to drink that much of it and make myself feel stuffed with liquid.

Yer me too, pints pre-bar, spirits when you get to the bar.

Quote from BastianB :no its a dual core, with 2.33 ghz (1333 mhz fsb)
the old one was quad core 2.44 ghz (1066 mhz fsb)

Up to you then really. I wouldn't take a dual core + DDR3 over a quad core + DDR2 personally.. But then I wouldn't buy a pre-made anyway, so maybe you have to take what you are given.

Quote from BastianB :sorry for bump but things changed

the next day i ordered my comp it got deleted from the dell homepage, because they dont sell it anymore.. (grrr)

this was 2 weeks ago or seomthing.

but TODay (2 weeks later) i got phoned and a guy told me i´ll get another computer for the same money.

the specs are:

core duo processor (2.33 ghz on the homepage?!)
3gb of ram DDR3
and ati radeon hd 4850 graphics card 512mb memory.

the rest doesnt really change to my "old" ordered comp.

the guy on the phone ment this comp is a little bit better, then the one i ordered originaly, what do you think?

Grahphics card and RAM are better. Investigate the CPU though, make sure it's still a quad core if that's what you want.

That's a good point Dajmin. It's also worth nothing that some companies will give you a discount for being part of a members club.

I know some people get discounts for being in the Ford RS owners club, I guess it shows you care about your care and aren't likely to smash it up given the first opportunity.

Similarly the insurance on my dads kit car is very low, presumably because they know it takes 12 months to build or something, and that you aren't going to drive like an idiot potentially wrecking all that work.

Drums on the rear aren't necessarily a big problem, depends how much you use them. For track use then no, but for road use you probably won't have big overheating issues.

edit: Yer I'd only have the Lotus as I would keep the Fiesta, no point selling it really, just drive it until for as long as possible I think. The Lotus is going to require of LOT of saving, but I'd be getting an S1 as there's no way I can afford an S2. But still, plenty fun enough I'm sure

Hmm I didn't really read much of this thread, there's a lot being said. So I'll just add my 2 cents.

You could say I'm classically trained (played classic guitar since I was 8 or 9), I've done my grades and theory grades etc. So I know a little bit about the ins and outs of music itself.

I never used to like hip-hop or rap, for that very reason 'oh they've never learnt how to play music, it must be so easy to make a hip-hop track' kinda thing.

However in recent years my music tastes have changed from almost exclusively listening to ska/punk into something a little more varied. I guess I grew out of that 'teenage' image of skater punk or whatever you want to call it.

I'm not such a fan of the old stuff, although I understand it comes from the holden period of rap, in fact what I really enjoy at the moment is British rap, Plan B sticks out as my favorite artist atm.

I think with rap, and I guess hip-hop, their instruments are their mouths, and it takes a lot of skill to produce some of the work they do.

Never close your mind to music, explore as much as you possibly can, then make decisions on what you do and don't like.

Seriously, stop complaining about the cost of insurance in the UK.

Yes it's high, we all know it's high. It doesn't matter what car you have, you can still kill people - just the other day in my area 4 people were killed and a man paralysed for life after some pricks in a 106 had a head-on.

Sure you can say 'I'll never speed' or 'I always drive carefully', but insurance isn't individual is it, it's based on statistics. That's the way it is, and will be for the foreseeable future.

I know people who've had MX5s as first cars. My car was OK as a first car (Fiesta 1.6 16v), General Lee (forget your real name :schwitz has a 316 as a first car. It's not impossible to get something OK as a first car, as long as you're prepared to shop around and then pay for it.

Anyway a couple of years on (ie when you're 21) and things become very reasonable. In fact I'm looking at a Lotus Elise as my next car (have fun while you can n all that, don't have a family to lug around etc), and insurance isn't unaffordable. It's less than it was to insure the Fiesta for the first year, put it that way.

..Except 1920x1200 is greater that 'full HD', and if your monitor is worth anything it'll do 1:1 pixel mapping. et voila! 'Full HD'.

(That therm annoys me a lot. What the hell is 'full HD', people have been using resolutions way over that for years. Marketing FTW.)
