How about the extremely small radius "u-turn" executed in less than 1 sec that generates around 100 instantaneous g's in the Maneuvers Trailer? The plane didn't even lose much speed... Search that in youtube... its uber-unrealistic.
Operation Flashpoint 2, anyone (not released though.)? Seems overhyped. I saw the leaked gameplay footages and they look like Call of Duty clones instead of an OFP game. Guess I'll stick with ArmA.
I need some info about carbon fiber use on Formula 1 cars. I know that they are lighter, stronger, and stiffer than steel. What I want to know is... during a crash, do they just simply break away into small pieces instead of bending?
Yes.. but it makes a hard landing, which damages the suspensions. In that GT5P video, it landed as nothing has happened. Its got a friggin soft suspension as well... reminds me of a dirt BUGGY O_O
Cars still can't go upside down in GT5P, which to me is a major dissapointment. In my opinion, its a huge handicap because cars with a high CoG should tip and roll over like the XF when turning at extremely high speed. I think it will be great for its rally stages... because it will force players to be more careful on the jumps (like in RBR)... but oh well I guess GT isn't going to be a full fledged driving sim.
You have to watch it. Let me make it clear... the car DIDN'T fly. As I said, it jumped and landed softly like a buggy... It just seemed so wrong. Its an F1, for christ's sake... not an offroad vehicle.
Add: I won't call GT realistic... if you can't drive that damn F1 off the cliff, since theres nothing but a strip of cloth (?) to prevent cars from going off the track. Sometimes, theres an invisible forcefield blocking your car :S weird.
I entered a 200ms server today and didn't even experience jumping cars. Ping has nothing to do with lag. A guy on another thread proved this. (finding thread)
ArmA is basically a civillian version of VBS2, so it doesn't contain all of the features in that video. Comparing ArmA with other mainstream games, its bloody realistic. It does get sort of frustrating, since it is recommended that you know a bit of military tactics. ArmA II is coming out in early 2009 though... so you could just wait and buy that instead. Now.. talking about its multiplayer... It has around 50 to 100 servers in the list from what I remember (been playing single player these days) with a large percentage of the players being ex-military.
Oh, and you MUST patch the game to at least version 1.05 (although the latest is 1.15 BETA). Version 1.00 is almost unplayable due to the insane amount of bugs... but its possible that Steam offers the version 1.08. A.C.E. mod is a must as well
