I had no were to go, coming out of that turn were I saw the dust and went slightly off. I kept throttle open to keep it on track and before I knew it there was car 04. In the end I got kicked at the back without having anything to do with the crash at all.

Quote from pik_d :..................................The FXR was actually pretty competative at BL1, and might be again at SO and FE.

3 Hours of Blackwood Grand Prix Reversed (BL1R)
3 Hours of Kyoto GP Long (KY3) w/Boothy chicane
3 Hours of South City Long Reversed (SO4R)
6 Hours of Westhill International Reversed (WE1R)
3 Hours of Fern Bay Gold (FE3)
6 Hours of Aston Historic Reversed (AS4R)
12 Hours of Kyoto National (KY2)

So seeing your point of view the FXR should be only competative on those tracks ?. It might be 3 out of 7 tracks were there is a change the FXR can ge competative. On Kyoto for instances the lap difference is roughly around 2 seconds a lap. That is just too much. Now we might get close in the other 3 races, woohoo i am excited.

Now serious though you can agrue about it for all in eternity but it wont solve it. The restrictions in the FXR are too much on any track. All a FXR team can do is site out and wait until the guy in front makes a mistake. That aint competative, thats due to restriction.

Then people say you need to push it more. Well the car wont go any faster if I try too. The fastest lape currently in a FXR is 2.24.49. As I did a 2.24.31 as a pb and I have seen a 2.23.8 last night. What I am saying is there isnt any room anymore to push. Now what was the best time last night ? Ahh found it 2.22.24, that is more then 1 seconds a lape.

Quote from Tomhah :there's no "might", IT IS competive at SO :P And Arco, if you wanna drive FXR, sign up for iTCC!

Now stop saying the FXR is competitve because it isnt. Then there are guys saying well thats you choice of car so live with it. Or go drive the drive the iTCC.
So its competative on SO ?, thats 1 track out of 7. Its getting better by the minute.
Whats the point then having the car in the series if it aint competative ?.

If it was competative then people will use that car because as they say its easier to drive. Offcourse its easier to drive but due to that fact we make it not competative so people will pick the FZR or XRR ?. Sorry but thats bullocks. Drop the restriction from 23 to 22 and it still will be a challenge to keep up with the FZR or XRR. But at least we have a change of getting them.

As were we are now the FXR isnt gonna get anywhere but getting in the way, especially on the large tracks.

Quote from Ger Roady :Bahh its for girls isn't it. Real men...........

So schumacher is in F1 car was a girl using the shift light ?.
And what about rally drivers, they are girls too then ?

What your saying everyone using a shiftlight is a girl ?
Thats such a stupid post, nothing else to do ?.

Back top the topic, i do have the shift light on but I listen to the revs of the engine. However the shift light is more accurate and is there. Indeed a shame it is dropped out of roadcars but on the other hand I dont see many real roadcars with them. We have to adapt, nothing more nothing less.

Quote from PMD9409 :And you learn from that, and throughout the season you will start being able to stay up with the quicker teams. So then when you enter IGTC/MoE you have the confidence and ability to perform well.

I due hope youre right there. However I highly doubt if we will. I dont know how the restrictions are setup in MoE but in GTAL the difference atm is too much. The difference a lape on a long track is around 2 or 3 seconds. I can see the FZR and XRR just ran off in the distance. I cant really learn from that.

Well its a bit in the middle for me just like deadbone and scott here.
I totally agree on with you Kenneth that they take up a spot.
However thier here to show us the way it should be done as well.
But since they are normaly way up front it doesnt really help the guys who are trying their hardest but cant compete.

So in the end I think we can loose a guest team and hand over the spot to another new team so they can learn the ropes.

I tend to have the line always one. Not using it though. I used that a lot in the beginning and left it on. Doesnt bother me a bit. Weither its the wrong or good line shouldnt be a issue. Its a tool for newbie`s to learn the track. Its a helpfull tool which should be forced on the first 100km on each track a newbie cames along. That would saves a lot of unecessary crashes.

Thats why it isnt about the line is good or bad, its about learning the track.
When you start learning the curves, feel of the car you always push to get your laps down. How can you do that only by knowing the track. How can you learn it rather simple, by using the line. So yes press 4 if youre uncertain. But dont use it as a race line because there faster lines on a track.

Quote from Joe_Keaveney :Thanks for your post, Niels.

You make a very good point regarding the 'locked-in' drivers. The answer as to why the championship is structured like it is serves several purposes.

Firstly, by having a set of 15 'locked-in' racers (who are the fastest drivers becuase they have scored the most points) we have continuity from round to round throughout the season. This, along with the ballast rules, leads to the creation of rivalries for positions, whether it be for the title (1st) or a rivalry between the places 10-15 for a top ten position at the season's end.

Secondly, the advantage of being 'locked-in', is a motivating factor to those drivers in places 15-20 of the championship. A good set of results at a round of the iTCC will get them into the top 15, qualifying them automatically for a place at the next round of the iTCC, where they may be able to keep that successful form going and climb the championship table.

Thirdly, the 'locked-in' principe is a loyalty incentive. The good drivers, those who attend the iTCC races round after round, and who consistently score points at each round of the iTCC, are rewarded with a guaranteed place at the next round.

Fourthly, these good drivers in the top 15 (who generally speaking are from well-established teams) face a very stern challenge from any driver in the 30 who race. That means at any round of the iTCC, a rookie, if he is fast enough, can race bumper-to-bumper with a veteran of LFS, providing a new challenge for both rookie and veteran alike.

One of my objectives for the iTCC was to promote new drivers. I wanted to create a league where the LFS veterans could be challenged at every round by fast drivers new to the sport of sim-racing. I'm not sure how many new drivers we saw last year in the iTCC, but we saw some new drivers, and those new drivers had the opportunity to showcase their talents to the established teams, and I hope that has been good for both the drivers and the teams.

I do see the point you make, and I can see how it could be seen as unfair. I, however, don't see it like that. I think the format that we've decided upon is a large part of what makes the iTCC what it is - intense, engaging, and breathless!

Thanks again for the post, Niels - I hope we see you rubbing wheels with the big guns

Cheers

Joe Keaveney

Thanks for your answer. It isnt I debatting your rules it feels just a bit unfair to me thats it. I mean, I see the loyalty towards the top 15 from last year. Nothing wrong with that.

But my issue is with the first round starting JayBee hit the nail spot on and thats what I ment. Why do it have to be 15 ?.
I havent seen any serie in Virtual or real life were you are garanteed for next year season. Yes places 1, 2 and 3 but thats normally about it.

And loyalty should be rewarded off course but I just find the number 15 very high with only 30 grid places. Again your rules, nothing wrong but as it is a suggestion thread I would point it out.

I defitnly would like to see myself rubbing wheels with some big guns but its highly unlicky it will happen

Well since this is a suggestion thread I spit it out here.

I understand the way of rules are setup.
But what I dont get is why are the first 15 from last year automaticly in the first round ?.
Its a bit weird considering since youre saying you want to give everybody a fair change of getting in the iTCC.
You already using up the first 15 spots just by that rule leaving only 15 left for about 100 drivers who signed up.

You also said something about if your fast enough your in.
Well what if there are 30 people in the shootout faster then the first 15 in round already ?.
There are probably faster guys then guys from last year but only 15 of theme eventually progress to the final season.

I aint the fastest around and seeing the competition around I highley doubt if Ill make it.
If you want to do it fair and square let everybody start in the shoot out.
Like I said I propably wont make it to the season but I think it isnt completly fair in mine point of view.

Just mine 2 cents.

Quote from squidhead :Just like every other Arab drift video - overdone Special effects with crappy club music and repeating every lucky moment for several times, which usually means this is not based on skill.

I also love it how you arab drifters ALL do your own c*cksucking by putting thumbs up after your names or describing your vids as "AMAZING DRIFT" . I think one of you arab drifters managed to proclaim himself god of drifting at some point...I think it was viktoor or something

The commitee rated this movie PG (Pretentious Gits)

Auchhh.

Agreed though on the comments of the vid. To much overdone.
About the drifting its all a straight line I see, nothing coming around corners etcetra.

The fast drivers arent going to make you have earned more respect.
Respect you get by clean actions, nice attitude and most of all since its a race sim clean on track.

Like Astroboy I was thinking you were on the right way but seeing the post now from LFSnoob I have mine doubts. Anyway good luck.

Hey there render Guru`s,

I have a request for you lot.
Is it possible to make a scene with both skins in it ?

I leave the camera shots to you. No need for a special scene just as realistic as possible please. I normally do it myself but Blender has its limitations unfortantly.

Thanks in advance
