I don't see the problem with someone wanting a bov-sound they like in LFS, even if there are some people not liking these sounds AT ALL.. not mentioning any names, but tristan does come to mind!

And for you people that claim that a bov makes your car lose power, well, it's not like that in LFS ffs! so why bother coming with that argument!

personally i'd like the bov in LFS to release a bit earlier, cause it's i bit slow to my liking.. but i like that noise the turbo makes when there's backsurge, that chatter/laughing noise, hehe! at least a bit of it.. sound is more than half the experience people!

has someone made a good V8 sound yet? the only sounds i like in S2 so far, is the straight 5, the V6 and the V10.. and ofcourse som mad machines!

but i have yet to hear a good V8 sound..

would really appreciate a sound module in lfstweak, like the raspyness thing in the S1 version..

well, i've made tons of "replicas", but i don't think any of them are good enough to be shared..

i would definately make a decent tweak and setup if i had a carmodel similar to this though!

yeah, i know.. but the kitcar flares don't exist in LFS..

omfg! lower your wheelsize maybe? hehe! even 18" is a bit big.. so 20" equals overkill!

i feel that the drivability is reduced with the slicks on that thing, so if the engine is realisticly placed, it rolls all over the place in any corner..

Quote from Ball Bearing Turbo :Indeed: simple inertia is enough.

However, you're the student and I am not - but isn't centripetal the opposite of centrifugal?

well yes, it's the opposite of the non existing centrifugal!

BOV or no BOV.. ffs!

Quote from Ball Bearing Turbo :Indeed you are of course correct, however the debate is basically on which style of BOV is more efficient. Tristan feels that "reciculating" valves are more efficient while I feel that "atmospheric" valves are more efficient.

No matter that you didn't read the thread, I'm still right and Tristan is still wrong.....

:hide:

i'd have to agree with you on the atmospheric type.. and tristan often talks about cars on the road, though in LFS, there are for ex. no streets (etc) to drive on.. if there where, i'd still not agree with him!

everything is and could be rice, right tristan?

Quote from AndroidXP :Heh, I'm driving an Audi 100 CC with an inline 5
19 years old by now with about 345000km on it, but still running much better than many cars half of that age.

hehe! what kind power do you get from your engine? i have like 100kW (136hp? on 2144cc, 10 valve), but it's a FWD i'm sorry to say.. it pulls nice though.. my car is ALL problems at the moment! not long before i have to get another car..

but the sound is great! it's the power and sound i like about these cars! gotta get a 200 turbo sometime! *dreamy*
best sounding engine..

well, this is the engine i think sounds best --> straight 5, about 2000-2300cc in volume.. sounds best at lower revs i guess.. although the real thing sound a couple of hundred times better than this lfs-tweak does!

to bad there isn't a valve-number option though..

so here, tweaked in lfstweaks2 lite: the audi straight 5!
about the v5..

Quote from Don Merino :Duh...
Seems you're right and I don't know jack.
I had never heard of a V5 engine before.

the engine to talk about when it comes to 5 cylinders, is the audi straight 5! the V5 was hardly ever used, am i right? can't say i've heard to much talk of the v5.. but on the other hand the straight 5 engine is more like a stroke of genious!

and because i love this engine som much, i thought i'd share a lfstweaks2 setup..

anyone wan't to make a blowoff-raw file of any of these files? it's the same sound, just somewhat different length, if someone want's to clean it up a bit... i think it's worth a try, cause it's short and agressive!

yeah, i know.. thought it might be a setup for mekanic for download somewhere, but there's no site or link to anything! well, not that i've found anyway... i love both lfstweak and mekanic though, but there should be slicks on the regular cars as well when tweaking the power, to little grip!

i love setting up audi 5s and supra-like engines.. as well as the M5 3.8.. but as i said, to little grip, and too much torque!
server question

I've seen a server named BMW-M5 3.8L Racing, but i'm not able to join. Is there anything i have to do before joining this server? it's the client info that goes wrong i think... anyone played on this server?
tristan is kinda rice.. ;)

really can't stand tristan.. maybe we should just ignore him from now on?

"that car is rice.. that guy is rice... this whole damn UNIVERSE is RICE!"

hope so.. hehe! what's your definition of rice btw?
keltern

hehe! yeah, you're right about showing off.. but i really don't like the ricer-expression.. and it really doesn't fit the bmw! hehe! for me, a ricer is a overstyled car, most likely a jap car, not a hugely fun bmw!
keltern

lol i tell you! what's so jap (or ricer as u call it..) about a 1000hp BMW?

i wasn't saying he has the fastest car around a track.. but u only hear what you wanna hear, so.. you should try looking for more norwegian streetcar vids, cause there are sooo many fast and fun cars to check out, not that i think you'd bother, but worth mentioning...

the meaning of my posts, was not to use blurp out RICER everytime someone mentions something turborelated..
keltern

you don't like to have fun do you! hehe! he wasn't trying to get low laptimes ffs! you should know that just by looking.. btw, that's norways fastest roadgoing car..

yeah, ok.. i'll admit that i didn't read the entire thread... but LFS is racing, not common road driving! =) so why talk about smooth driving for the common people! =)

and hey, one skill you didn't mention, was controlling power! hehe! that's what you'll see on the vids.. =) he's playing around on these ones, but i think he's a driver in gatebil extreme as well, so he knows how NOT to make the wheels spin also...

illepall yeye.. stop flaming!

well, i know that ALOT of the norwegian racers, and professionals involved in the bigger events, very rarely recurculates the pressure, they dump it.. and it works extremely well! you should check out this one: http://www.vsmotor.no/filmer.html

it's a bmw e39 m5, 3.8 straight six, with over 1100hp, and well over 1100 nm. awesome ride! and NOT a ricer..

download a couple of the vids, and see if you could make this car go better!
keltern

well, a lot of energy is dumped, i know that.. but by dumping the pressure, the turbo is still spinning when u continue after a gearchange or whatever.. if the pressure hadn't been dumped, the turbo would stop the second you let of the throttle! understand what i mean?
