drifting isn't racing, but imo much more fun than racing.. they do however use all the same parts, equipment and adjustments as in racing, since it's all about grip, throttleresponse, turningradius etc..
(sorry if some of the "terms" i used has been poorly translated.. :tilt
edit: as CXNuse said, drifting is also a competition, and i guess may be called a form of racing anyways..
well, i can't really see the game developing further, if they should deside to cut off people who play without the third pedal.. that is, giving them a disadvantage..
closing the gap between manual shifts and autoshift, on the other hand, is the way to handle the issue!
i know i'm going to be flamed now, but i'll say it anyway!
why should the button-clutch option be removed, just because a few people are going to buy a steeringwheel with manual clutch? or the autoclutch for that matter..
why ruin the game for all those who don't have the option of buying such equipment?
This may be posted before, but since in couldn't find anything related in the search, i'm going to present my "idea".
how about some new wheels for our beloved game?
Manufacturers like BBS have been used in racing for many years now, and as i'm not to fond of the "rims" used in LFS today, i thought i should speak my mind..
a big part of the LFS community would/will be flaming me for "ricing" if i should be so unfortunate to be wanting something NOT racing.. (sorry for the bad english btw)
therefor, how about integrating some racing-style wheels (BBS or other racingwheel manufacturers)?
Here are some renders people have made to illustrate how it could(should?) look like >=>
I'm not saying that all these wheeldesigns should be used, it's just to show how much better cars look with well designed wheels, and yet another point, a couple of them actually look like metal!
Examples for designs suitable for LFS: BBS RS, LM, Challenge.. all nice, and i believe they've all been used in motorsports. BBS LM
do any of you guys know what happened to the fedpick.dk servers?
the autocross drift server they had up and running, had a very very good drift course set up, and since the server isn't up any longer, i wondered if any of you guys have this specific layout?
Dump Valves / Blow off Valves may sound nice to Ricers in their Escort Rs Turbos, BUT what they don't (and a lot of other people Dont) Realise is that they reduce your engine life by up to 40,000 Miles
Think about it, Pressure goes in and out and in and out and Nackers the engine Components eventually. Like i saw a Grey Fiat Punto with a Huge exaust that sounded like santa had a Vindaloo on Christmas eve and shat it out through a Trombone, and His Dump Valve sounded like Tony Blair Whispering to Osama Bin Laden in his cave! "PIIIISSSSSShhhhhhhhhT! WEKNOWYOURINTHEEEEEERE"
He obviously doesn't realise his shit piece Fiat Uno 1.4 aint gunna last much longer, Uno's have an engine life of about 60,000 miles, hes only got 20 left after his new Dump valve! Lol NO OFFENCE TO ANYONE WITH AN UNO! !
can't see anyone agreeing with that..
blow off's are there to prevent the turbo from stalling or stopping (less stress on the engine components..) so how can you claim the oposite?
his car was probably doomed anyway, due to brutal driving and crappy components..
EDIT by Scawen : Removed the IMG tags. You must not post images in that way, but you can post links of course. They are huge images and take ages to load. Some people here are on 56k modems. You should never post bmps on the net anyway. Use a compressed format like jpg.
are these pictures uploaded to the worlds slowest connection? i'm on a 40Mb connection here, and i can't download the pictures! illepall
