I have always enjoyed, now as an adult, how teenagers go out of their way to conform to be accepted. And twenty years from now, some of you emo youth are going to look back on the years between the ages of 13-24 and probably turn beet red from embarrassment.

Look: you are not the first group of youths to be whiny girls, who think life is unfair and use fashion and music as an outlet. Let us milk this, shall we?

1950's: beat poets.
1960's: hippies.
1970's: hmmm...I'll get back to this.
1980's: newwave.
1990's: grunge.

See? Here is my theory: Because a few million people fought and died from 1939-1945, and made the world, most especially America and Europe free and prosperous and a HELL of alot easier, from then on, it seems every decade has had it share of whiny nancy boys.

By the way, Tokio Hotel rocks. They are so hardcore, MAAAAAN.

Quote from Cawwa :your ground is good and your performance with the pace car astonishing! Do we dare to ask if you want to continue to drive it, as an honored founder of this league?

Sure! That will be no problem. I'll be there next week to do one lap.

Humor is subjective, therefore you cannot say "that offends me" because it is your viewpoint.

Comedy is tragedy plus timing.

I would be careful putting that up on YouTube, someone may get offended, and then Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson will call for you to resign.

And please do. The only good aspect of that...clip, was this was a merciful 50 seconds long. And a black screen.

Am I some politically correct hypocritical pinhead? No, I just think it was really...well, really stupid! What more can I say?

By the way, Cawwa, by handing over the sanctioning of this league to you, I am giving you full right of the name, concept and creative managing. By no means will I interject and oppose any changes you may have in mind now, or in the future.

Just wanted to let you know that, for posterity's sake. I know great things will happen in your hands and under team XFR.

Quote from anik360 :And if Us does invade Africa; as of now we are suffering from inflation and will go for broke and borrow money from countries we can't evn spell. USA is dumb esp. Gw bush is he is gonna take every goddamn us citizens down with him

Uhhh..yeah. I suggest taking up a course in civics and economics, and after completing both, reread your statement.

I am old enough to remember that Ronald Regan was lambasted for all the woes of the United States, I remember when he told Gorbachev to "tear down that wall!" Well, you can imagine some left leaning folks got in a tizzy about that, and seriously thought World War 3 was going to happen with nukes. Same with George Bush Senior. Yet, Bill Clinton comes along, and all is well with the world. Same with Jimmy Carter, the same Jimmy Carter who left America in 1980 with double digit inflation and out of control, failed social programs...and he is hoisted up as a hero! For anyone reading who is American, ask your parents about being employed from 1980-1982.

My memories are based from media resources, and again I have to stress to individuals who live outside North America, just how biased the American media is toward left wing (liberal) politics.

And that is why I rely on other sources of objective truth rather than the mainstream media. And truth be known, if the American media was biased to right wing politics, I would hold the same opinion. It seems to me, that the American media has an agenda; and that would be alright if they declared as much. But instead, both sides lie to the consumer of news and claim to be "objective".

I have a proposal, because I am still baffled with high shipping prices.

Now, we have VvV inc. located in the Netherlands as the main distribution point, right? I am to assume that these shirts are made in XXX country, then shipped to VvV inc., and then he would be the sole distributor.

So, how about if the maker of the shirts were to send the invoice for services rendered to VvV inc. in the Netherlands, but have the finished products be distributed to various locations around the world? For example, the UK, Norway, Germany, Spain, Brazil, The United States and Canada. And obviously, one person per country to distribute the products, as chosen by VvV inc.

Lets look at how this would work from start to finish. JakG really wants a Live For Speed shirt. He goes to VvV inc online and orders the shirt via PayPal or however the method VvV inc. would have set up. The invoice can then be routed to the UK distribution person, who would then ship it via UPS or DHL or oxcart or whatever local method would be employed for that region. Think of the savings in shipping by not shipping through various countries, but by taking the most direct route possible.

Victor, I am looking out for your best interests, plus I am a capitalist pig and this is how I think. I am just in the the belief, after reading about such high shipping costs, that there has to be a better way. I know after I post this there will responses in the manner of "Yeah, but..." Well, how do you know it wont work unless you try?

Bottom line is, I want to see you succeed with minimal burden. I CAN be done. I KNOW it can.

Let me know of your thoughts on this.

Quote from chanoman315 :Only want to know, what do you need, or need to do, to be a Moderator of the forum?

Thanks

Eh, unless you like to be a glorified babysitter and janitor and not get paid for it, I would pass. I am a "super" moderator on a vehicle specific forum, which means I control every section of the board plus I can ban / unban people.

Being a moderator means you are the object of hatred, gripes and usually you are never thanked for what you do. Oh, and the occasional threat via email or PM's. People who moderate have personalities which entail loyalty and a sense of duty.

Quote from Victor :that highly depends on the destination country and shipping type and how many items are ordered.

German example when ordering 4 shirts :
cheapest, but slowest delivery : 8 euro
most expensive but fastest (and tracable) : 9.91

not too much difference there, but that is because germany has a great deal for the fast delivery method. Portugal for example is an entirely different story :
cheapest, but slowest delivery : 8 euro
mid-level, : 11 euro
most expensive but fastest (and tracable) : 32.70 euro
(this is the extreme though)

So it varies per country and by how far away the destination country is from holland and what deal the postal office has made with that country.
Also price depends on whether the country is an EU country, rest of europe or rest of world (of course I'd almost say)

That is insane for shipping! I thought the European Union would eliminate such high shipping prices.

Yes, very true. Whilst some debates on the internet are plainly no holds barred, using subtle suggestions to sway an opposite viewpoint to agree with your position is more effective than other means. Hey, it worked for Socrates!

In so far as immigration, I have no problem with immigration from Central America, in fact I think it is UNAmerican to deny it.

On one hand, I can see exactly why people from Mexico and Central America come here in droves; America still is the land of opportunity, whereas in my opinion, and from what I see, Mexico has a caste system of sorts. Now, if you are Mexican and poor, if the opportunity came about that you could get across the border and work for $15,000 or less a year, but be better off than living in Mexico, would you do it?

Oh, HELL yes! Personally, I think the Mexican / US border is a sort of political safety valve of sorts. I am willing to bet that if the US built a 20 foot, impenetrable wall across the border, a political revolution would incur in Mexico. And maybe it should be done, because on the other hand...

Why should America inherit problems that Mexico should be fixing themselves? And also why the lax immagration policys? My ancestors came from Denmark and Norway the legal way, and they were no better off than the average illegal Mexican immigrant. One side of my wifes family all immigrated to the US form Mexico legally...

The laws of immigration need to be changed. Make it easier to immigrate legally, and make it virtually undesirable to immigrate illegally, because right now it is completely the opposite.

Damn politicians...liberals want them for votes and to exploit them as victims, and conservatives want them for cheap labor (and who doesnt?) and support our capitalist country, which make no mistake, I am all for. But there must be a better way...
