It seems that everything is installed properly. The domain variable is set correctly, the database contains 5 tables for cars, fuel, setups, tracks, and users.

I have other homepages locally installed which are using PHP and which work correctly.

I can only think, that it might be some problem with the mysql database connection, but then there should be an error message, right? (mysql host, user and pw are set correctly in page.class.php)

Maybe I should test the MySQL-stuff with another homepage ...

Hi,

I'm trying to test your Setup Station on my PC (I'm using XAMPP).

The database is setup correctly and all the options are set, but when I try to login for the first time as admin, the login screen just reloads and nothing else happens. No error messages occur.

What am I doing wrong?

Thx for any help!

Well, looks nicer than I expected.

And I know that faster111 has some problems with his native language due to his dyslexia, but there surely are other members in that team which I suppose to be able to write some proper english.

Come on guys, just try a little harder ... The quoted text below is just embarrassing.:sadbanana

Our team homepage is online again . The GGC website is also online, but still under re-construction. The forum can be found at the new domain:

http://forum.german-gamers-club.de

So we'll hopefully meet again soon!

Just if you are wondering, our servers are moving at the moment, so our homepages and the forum will not be available for a short time. Everything should be back tomorrow or in two days .

Sorry for that :sorry:, hope to hear from you in our forums .

Nice to hear. So you might introduce yourself and your team in our forums and then we will meet in TS soon (not before tomorrow, I guess, I have no time tonight :shrug.

The TS-Server data can be found here (the IP given there has changed 2 days ago, now it is 85.25.141.79:8787).

We are all pretty laid back people and just racing for fun, but with commitment. Most of us are driving in the OWRL.

We can also give you some tips for developing your own team further, since we also just created our team some months ago out of a loose bunch of people that were driving for the GGC. In the meantime, we gained much experience with skins, homepage and members coming and going ...

I'm really looking forward to hear from you soon!

Welcome! Maybe you're also interested in the following offer:

Think about joining the German Gamers Club (with your whole team without loosing your identity of course). We have servers and you might get your own team-server eventually. Membership is for free in the GGC and so are the servers.

Our only problem at the moment is that we lack of people. We want to change that in order to have more fun racing with each other.

The German Gamers Club has two teams, Hell on Tyres (°HoT, 7 members) and the Club-Team GGC (currently only 1 member). Visit our homepages (see my signature) and our forum for more details if you're interested.

As you can see, my team has also gained some profit out of that membership. We have LFS-Servers (hot.german-gamers-club.de) and a webspace (subdomain of the german-gamers-club.de) and it's all for free.

Just visit us on our servers, homepage and forum or our TS to get more details.

Kind Regards,

Wow, this has become an advertising thread for the spanish LFS-community.

I feel suddenly encouraged to upload some hotlaps ...
Unfortunately, I'm not fast enough that this will make a change.
Darn.

And again, I see mainly spanish hotlaps on AS North with BF1. Maybe they have a race with that combo too.

EDIT: Well, I guess with time this will all mix up again a bit. When other Leagues start to set up their grids by using uploaded hotlaps. But anyway, a really nice effect.

Nice work Tukko, that might explain it. If I understand it correctly on that website, they really have a FOX race on FE Gold tommorow.
Spanish invasion, or just a bug?

Hello Community,

I just stumbled upon a confusing thing. I wanted to check the S2 Hotlaps in LFSW for the track Fern Bay Gold and car FOX. What I found was very astonishing: 6 pages, nearly 150 Hotlaps and nearly ALL of them from spanish drivers!

LOL. Is this just a bug illepall or is the spanish community really that active .

Vain, I agree.

But I like to add one point.

I bought LFS to have thrilling online races with the best simulated physics I can get, and not to get damaged in a realistic way. If I crash in LFS, I'll crash. My car will be broken somehow and I will not be able to drive the way I drove before the crash. Who cares, what the car looks like?

In my opinion, LFS is not a crash simulator.

Chris, I completely agree with you.

Absolutely the same for me. And often enough it happens, that we are just talking to each other about our daily business without racing online. A team is more than just a couple of guys racing together.

Sorry for the misspelling in the thread title. Of course, it's German Gamers Club, not German Games Club.
German Games Club is searching for members and teams.

The German Gamers Club (GGC) is a clan-like organisation where people, interested in online gaming, can find a home. It has a very good infrastructure (servers, homepage, forum, ...) and is meant to be a place where people can relax after a hard days work, playing some online games together. The membership in the GGC is free.

Until now, there's only one LFS-Team in the GGC, Hell on Tyres, which is pretty well known in the OWRL (Open Wheel Racing League). We would like to see more teams in the GGC.

So if you are searching for a team, or planning to create one, or if you have a team but no (private) servers, homepage or forum, maybe you want to join in.

Although the majority of members in the GGC is german, this is not a crucial prerequisite. It's just easier to communicate in the TeamSpeak then, because not all members are able to speak english (fluently).

For more information, take a look at our forum.

Greets,

After two days of hard work, our brand new team skin is finished (each member will get a slightly modified skin with a number, name and stuff like that).

Can't wait to drive that damn car

Ok, I will be more careful next time ...

Anyway. You might take a look at our homepage, where I put two good sets, that you might give a try. They should be quite easy to drive, even with auto-gears off.

See you on track ...

Sorry, but maybe I didn't make myself clear enough.

I never wanted to insult you, so sorry for that. I respect, that you don't have that much experience. From that point of view, your time might be ok. But well, you posted your stats and I just commented them, since you smiley () indicated that you were thinking that it is a really good time.

Now, that I now that you are using auto-gears, that might explain your time a little bit. And of course, in a team you'll get lots of help from others, which will make you faster.

Anyway, I really never claimed to be very fast. I know pretty well that I'm only an average driver. And I have absolutely no problem with anyone who's driving slow or has little experience as long as he (or she) is able to drive clean and fair. We have really some pretty slow drivers in our team (including me) and we help each other to get faster. That's what a team should be all about, so I really think you're right, searching for a team.

Still, there's no need to flame me or the german community alltogether, so I agree with thisnameistaken.

I wish you good luck, slow-magic.

You might need a better set for FOX@KY3 ...

With this number of laps, your pb is pretty bad.

Yes. (In a Hawking-like voice. He would really take a long time for this simple answer, I guess. Partly because of his poor physiological skills and partly he might think about the whole physics of LFS for a while. :tilt

I'm wondering, how many physicists are playing LFS, since there have already Albert Einstein and Heisenberg been mentioned in this thread ...

Just one remark about this nose bug: In the world of LFS there are certain laws of physics, which aren't the same as in the real world.

So, until LFS-physics get closer to real-life physics (which will happen very soon hopefully), I don't see any problem in using the nose-bug, which is part of the LFS-physics.

Since everyone knows it, everyone can use it. Even if it isn't realistic.

What counts for me is, that all racers are driving under the same conditions, so that only driving skills and setup-skills are making the difference.

Not using the nose bug at the moment might be an ethically praiseworthy behaviour, but then you are making life unecessarily hard for you (in my opinion).

In the end, LFS is just a game and not the real life. You can only simulate real-life physics up to certain limits, e.g. you have no g-forces and there's also the tyres bug, which you cannot change with your set.

But anyway, the physics will be changed very soon and this discussion will come to an end by then. And I really was irritated too when I first saw these high noses

Keep racing.

Oh, I really don't know much about all this online gaming stuff. I didn't play CS or anything else like that, only LFS since a couple of months now.

But I'm allways happy to learn something new

Amazing.

But pings slightly below 200 are not so good in my opinion.
I guess, pings around 30 to 60 are acceptable. And I would say, that distance does indeed have an effect. It simply takes a while for signals to travel ...

But if it works, that's all right.
