How about the FZR? It would increase the amount of pitstops, and is now a bit different to control. In a 120 lap race in the XRR at Kyoto, you would only have to pit once.

One reason- ATI is great at making cards, but fail at making decent drivers. My friend updated to 7.12 and it was so bad for him he went back to his previous driver.

Quote from Gunn :Overtake and get a drive through or 10 sec stop/go penalty. Sounds simple to me.

That's a little too harsh. Giving the driver who overtook 20 seconds to get back into place would be much better. Also, you could advance your position if the driver thats supposed to be in front of you drives too slowly long enough, or drives into the pits or off the track.

Bodhidharmazen- Theres a thing about Shift-P that you don't understand. Because we sit behind a computer screen to drive, whenever you total a car out, you can't just get out, hop over a wall, and wait for your car to be hauled off. If it was different, most sims would have no tele-race leaving.

Quote from wheel4hummer :You can get reaction time using an auto-x layout. Just put the 1st checkpoint at the very end of the stage area. That's how it is timed in RL, right?

No, that is total time. Reaction time is how long it takes for you to react to launch off the line when the light goes green. Example-
RT-
John Force- 0.102
Eddie Hill- 0.146

A pace car would be good for long league races, and when a full-course caution comes out, we should have some way to know which car to follow, which would help a LOT to prevent stops and crashes under yellow.

Quote from nmanley :Not pointless if you rally the car.

Good point, but who in their right mind would rally a formula style car?

Quote from Travis Rowe01 :the reason why most of us dont have S2 is becuase i dont have a credit card becuase im only 14.

Oh bull. I don't own a credit card, but I saved enough money to buy 2, count it 2 S2 liscenes, and an rFactor ticket. I gave my parents the momey in exchange for the use of the debit card to buy it. (Don't even ask for me to buy anyone a liscense, the second one was specifically for a friend.)

I have an 8800GTS 640 MB and I get around 150-300 FPS in LFS. E6750 CPU OC'ed to 3.2 GHz. Don't know what would bog an 8800GT down other than a slow CPU.

Quote from porschedrifter :Hahaha I know its much much more... but graphics wise and the cell processor power of ps3 and the physics will be the most realistic sim yet. Bar none.

PC cant even touch the raw processing power of PS3

Ok off topic this isnt a GT5 vs LFS thread but I still really miss the XRT

You mean YOUR pc can't touch the power of a PS3. The GT series has been terrible in terms of physics since 2, enjoy your eye candy at twice the price of LFS.

Quote from aoun :I don't think any one of us has the right to complain, Seriously, we get this so cheap and we get to communicate with the creators.

Actually, I agree. The only thing you should be able to complain about are bugs in the game.

Quote from chrisfromda909 :Who the hell would buy the game after this. LFS is garbage now.

I bet anything the reason you are so pissed is because your favorite dorifto car is gone. It had been planned for a while, and if the FBM didnt come along, the demo may have ended up with the FOX. The demo is a demonstration of S2, and it wasn't working out with 95% of the demoers drifting blackwood with no plans of buying S2.

Quote from chrisfromda909 :Patch Y is the worst thing that has happened to LFS yet. LFS is not a simulator at all. Far from it. Getting rid of the XRT and adding that weak piece of crap F1 car is a joke. Definitely will not be buying this game ever now. Ill stick to networking on Patch V.

Demo users have no right to complain, because they DON'T OWN THE GAME. Buy S2 and you can bitch and whine all you want.

Go for an 8800 GT if you can fork out the cash. I have a Core 2 Duo E6750 OC'ed to 3.2 GHz, 8800GTS SSC 640MB, I get around 80FPS in a full grid of AI. I know from experience that a 1.6 GHz CPU wont handle 20 AI. LFS displayed 10 FPS, but in reality I was seeing around 2-2.5 fps.

Solution- Let off the gas when you shift (that means don't flatshift), don't try to go from a dead stop in 3rd gear either.

LFS Patch Y Causing computer to crash

Well, for some reason, the FBM is causing not only LFS, but my WHOLE system to hang over and crash. It's happened 3 times so far, all in the FBM, twice at South City, and once at Blackwood.

Quote from djlilmike :i just updated the game and only tried it out for like 2 minutes and i hated it! patch Y is the worst! Patch X was the best so far, but if lfs wants an upgrade, patch Y is not the way to go!

Quote :2 minutes

Theres your problem. You don't want realism? You want to keep your unrealistic flatshifting ways? Fine with me.

Quote from joeynuggetz :I can't check the patch forum since it appears to be gone but scawen stated that we was going to work on the AI ramming shortly after he released the first X patches leading up to Y. Was this addressed? He stated this in the patch forum in the AI thread.

Yes, but I have noticed that if there is a car standing on the track, the AI will get ~10 feet away from the car before it does anything to try to avoid, which means, the AI will jerk the steering wheel and almost lose control.
