I think we should go for various tracks over the coming weeks/days, to see how the balance is on them... KY3R for today?

Quote from thisnameistaken :To be honest I've only driven the Solstice, and I find it a frustrating car to drive. It's hard to judge the simulation fairly when it fails to hold your interest for more than a few laps.

I'd say...

Plus sides: Tyres feel very good, tracks feel very good, graphics are very good.

Down sides: Car content not compelling, multiplayer currently way too restrictive, price, additional costs for advanced content, probably a load of other stuff.

It's worth trying for a month, but you might get bored of it quickly.

I feel pretty much the same about it... Except that it hasn't "gripped" me at all, pretty much the same as I got when I tried rFactor (), it just doesn't hold my interest for longer than a couple of laps, while in LFS I can just go on and on and on. But still I'm glad I tried it out, so I know what I'm on about

BBT, there is no engine damage at all... You can just put it in 1st from 4th at 140 and continue happily afterwards. I can't help but feel iRacing is actually much more incomplete than LFS, and they had the same dev time... There are no flags, no engine damage, no dirt on tires, no pitstops, i don't know... The tracks and the driveability are very good though. Not too sure about the car graphics, they look too "shiny" to me.

(anyway, just some random ramblings )

Quote from aoun :Scawen, im not a huge regular on the forum and i have committed or somehow helped LFS the least amount compared to alot of people. Do not think that im having a go at you, or having an argument with you or trying to prove you wrong etc, i just simply have a question..

Is there anything wrong with talking about tracks, cars and new content, as well as your plans, IN DETAIL?

Like Ive said in a post a few weeks ago, content means nothing to me, but im sure its why some people are having a cry, and personally i would love to know what is going on in the progression of LFS, and maybe others do too..

Don't you see the same thing will happen as with the interiors? As soon as something is "promised", you will have people demanding it immediately. That's bound to not make you want to release any info, even though most of us (including me) would love that little insight

Sorry for the double-post

Quote from Krammeh :Periodically when spectating another player, the view from inside of the car isn't quite.... straight shall we say.

From time to time, it will set the view (for that player only) look at either of the front wheels, or directly out the back of the car...

My father had this problem this morning, and also another friend of mine.

I will try get some screenshots of it in the future (but I doubt my father will be able to remember how, he isn't exactly.... computer savy. HAHA)

Seems like you used TV director and it has overwritten your custom views? If you haven't I have no idea

Quote from dawesdust_12 :Indeed, hence why - atleast I - have moved on to a sim that has some development progress, and that feels better, and that won't take 3.4 million years to get a track that's still smoother than a wall and flatter than A cups.

iRacing tracks aren't much bumpier, unfortunately

I've got it, but it doesn't work with my debit card... Let's see if it accepts MBnet

Edit: It does! And oops, I signed up with a different name from the name on my fathers credit card... But do MBnet cards even have names registered to them?

Quote from glaspere :I am a longtime semi-serious sim racer seeking an iRacing invite. Honestly I haven't found a sim I have liked since Nascar Racing 2003. iRacing seems to be to spiritual successor to that great sim.

To those who think iRacing is overpriced or too expensive I urge you to compare the cost to other common forms of enterntainment. I took my two kids to see Ironman and that cost me $45 with refreshments...that's $45 for 2 hours entertainment...and iRacing is expensive how?

EG

Haven't we had enough of this discussion? Or do you want me to counter with "LFS costs £24, how can you call iRacing not expensive?".

I have to agree with bdshan here... Despite the fact that it was announced, the rules for this round hadn't yet changed.
