It is against the License agreement to pass your details on.

Why would you want the speedo/tacho to show less speed than you are actually doing

Quote from Gabox :There is a difference between not getting rich, and not earning money at all.
The later seems to be the case now.

Indeed and as Scawen posted a while back :

Quote from Gabox :Who cares what they said 5 years ago? Times are changing, and they have to adapt to stay in business.

You have a point, however it is their business to run as they want. If they wanted to make a fortune they could have done, however they chose to keep it the way it is. The only targets the have to meet are what they choose and as long as it keeps paying the bills and making a bit of money it's not a bad way to make a living, doing what you enjoying doing with only yourselves to answer too

Can you buy a pre paid visa or mastercard? never used one but surely will work if you have no other method of buying it.

edit : Something like this http://www.mastercard.co.uk/prepaid-card.html

Using mouse doesn't make you as quick as Nilex and Storm, trust me...

As for the setups, I think it is probably more to do with differences in driving style rather than controller.

Quote from Gutholz :
And if currently there is no race, then you look what is on next day.
And for this evening you just practice a bit (usually a few people always join for that)
You might see 4 people drive around on server and maybe think "wow boring. Multiplayer is so dead." But you did not know that maybe they were practising for a real race the next day, or even just a few hours later.

That's very true, on the deadmen server we run a hour race every Thursday and pick up a fair few people who happen to stumble onto the server when a few of us are running short practice races on a random night.

Same goes for the DM® server who race on a Sunday night, last nights combo xfg at fe11 turned out a grid of 20 cars for a good hours worth of great clean racing.

So yes there is still life in LFS, you just need to look a little harder for it

Apparently he turned down £6m for the F1 plate, not sure how much truth is in it as was in the daily mail lol

Quote from 5tag :Holy :jawdrop:

I'm not even asking who would pay that amount of money...

But how do they justify that price in the first place?

Just the way it is in the UK at least, Plates can fetch a lot more than that one, 2 digit (one letter, one number) plates are usually well in excess of a £100k like this one . Some plates even make into the millions.

I guess people see them as an investment/status symbol.

On the other end of the scale, you can get basic ones based on modern plates from £250.

A man received the following text from his neighbour:

I am so sorry Bob. I've been riddled with guilt and I have to confess. I have been tapping your wife, day and night when you're not around.
In fact, more than you. I'm not getting any at home, but that's no excuse. I can no longer live with the guilt and I hope you will accept my sincerest apology with my promise that it won't happen again.

The man, anguished and betrayed, went into his bedroom, grabbed his gun, and without a word, shot his wife and killed her.

A few moments later, a second text came in:

Damn autocorrect. I meant "wifi", not "wife".

Absolutely! as posted a lot of people will be reading but don't like messing up the thread and like me having nothing technical to add. It really is interesting to see this unfold and the way in which you are working things out. Keep at it!

[*]The last one i don't have link for but... their server is called DeadMenRacing, and it's easily distinguishable on the large list. They have one race weekly (which day was it? ), forced cockpit view and maybe wind. Simply connect there and ask around for info, and race PW which i believe is always the same.
[/LIST]

The main race is an hour every Thursday evening, car and track combo change every week, more info here : http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum ... isplay.php?76-Racing-Sims. Also great racing on the dominant monkeys server (UFA/XFA at the mo), run regular races every Sunday night, info for that also on deadmen forum.

Quote from FPVaaron :Makes me sad, I'm never sure if the Dev's are actually working on the next big thing.. Or... just saying that they are and not admitting the game is dead so they don't lose even more sales.

Why would they give up on it now? they have put 10+ years of their lives into this and it's still providing an income with the possibility of it doing so for many years to come. Every one on here wants s3 released but do you really think the devs don't? Think of the income boost they would get if they released S3, they have a lot more to get it out of releasing it than us.

Look at it another way, in the time lfs has stayed at s2 they could have released many patches, even just cars and tracks and charged for them, go back a couple of years and they could have made a hell of a lot more money out this than they have, probably still could but they choose to do things their way, which is fair enough it is after all their business. This to me though is one of things that makes LFS different, it's almost like we are funding their hobby and watching, even helping it develop, nothing wrong with that at all and to me is part of what makes LFS what it is, a lot more personal than some mass market game/sim and also what keeps a lot people keeping an eye on the forum, just incase that day comes.

Not sure if anyone is still interested in the project, I know it takes time between updates, but I think that is changing. At least, I've been making some good progress lately.

Really interesting to follow something like this and watching it develop, looks like a mammoth task to complete but looking promising so far, keep at it

As the guy on the manta forum posted it's not been taxed for a long time (1993)

The vehicle details for DAP 301T are:
Date of Liability 01 08 1993
Date of First Registration 15 06 1979
Year of Manufacture 1979
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1979cc
CO₂ Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type PETROL
Export Marker N
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour RED
Vehicle Type Approval Not Available

Doesn't look good, unless someone has it tucked up in a barn somewhere, I would say try Pistonheads pretty good for this kind of thing
