Quote from sinbad :Hmm? I think the point is that he did. He came to LFS first and they rejected the idea(s).

I think what ChiliFan meant was that rFactor is crap, physics wise..

Quote from ErAri :Hello guys. I have a new G27 and I would like to know your setups in game, in profiler...you know.

I have always used all degrees, but I know that "fastpeople" use less.

Could you help me? I don´t want broke the new wheel like G25 hehe

Thanks.

Why would the setting break the wheel? o.O
And as far as i know its the same settings ingame and profiler for g25 and 27

Quote from MadCatX :Unless the crack has something to do with DirectX it's not possible. It's just an idea, but are OpenGL based games affected too?

Yeha it would be a little strange if a crack did that to the OS tbh.

And i have never heard of this problem either :O Didnt even know it existed.. Tried installing the newest driver?

Quote from dadge :again, you have only read what you wanted to see. i said you were knocking on the door of my ignore list. i did not say you were on my ignore list.
one born every minute i guess.

Well tbh i cant really care less about people who has "i will put u on my ignorelist" as the last outcome, when they cant add anything new to the discussion.. so..

Quote from shiny_red_cobra :Perhaps YOU should read the whole thread, you just took what he said out of context. He meant he's using 1680x1050 with A VGA CABLE. He never said that particular resolution was called VGA.

LOL. just saw that i had missed that small part. I stand corrected.. ty SRC ^^

Quote from dadge :Originally, it was an extension to the VGA standard first released by IBM in 1987. Unlike VGA—a purely IBM-defined standard—Super VGA was defined by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA), an open consortium set up to promote interoperability and define standards.
stretching a ratio. seriously dude. stop. think.
640x480 on a 42 inch flatscreen looks stretched because the pixels will be so big. i don't even know why i'm still posting here.
if you read the whole thread you'd see that i was/am not the expert you are on hd. i even asked for someone to explain it better to me. but you've read the thread so i can only assume that you're posting out of ignorance and you're trolling for a flame session.
tough titties buddy. i'm done with this thread. and you're knocking on my ignore lists door quite hard.

Uhm.. maybe you should learn to read then?

Quote from WIKIPEDIA :
WSXGA+ Widescreen Super eXtended Graphics Array Plus 8:5 (16:10) 1680 1050...

But yeah.. if you're using SVGA (800x600) you must have a GREAT screen / gfxcard ^^

Ignorelist? lol...

Quote from dadge :at a guess i'd say that the OP is NOT the only person to have made a post in this thread. infact, by the 4th post the discussion was leading more towards telivision resolutions. but you'd see that if you READ THE WHOLE THREAD!

stretched the ratio? If it is a flatscreen with 640x480, will it still look crap as u just stated?
seriously. think about what you're saying. it's bullshit. i've unsubscribed from this thread because you're chatting out of your arse. period

I am? xD I think it is you that are chatting out of ur rear.. You didnt even answer my question about what u meant with "Stretched the ratio"..

take this for instance..

Quote from dadge :i'm running 1680x1050 via VGA (SVGA if we're being precise)quite fine.

Uhm? NO?! If u call that res SVGA, then YOU should learn a thing or two..

4th post in this thread wasnt about TV's.. YOUR post (below) started the TV crap
Quote from dadge :before HD became available, the standard resolution on all telivisions was 640x480. but to say it's low quallity is really stupid. after all, we've been watching it for decades without any problems.

ON T: As stated before; Use HDMI/DVI, res @ 720p or 1080p and all graphics in LFS to the max.. Cant get closer to HD in that game sry

Quote from dadge :no. i said that 640x480 on a normal tv is not as bad as most people think.

if you have to ask that question, maybe you should read the thread again. of course a 640x480 resolution is going to look crap on a flatscreen tv. the tv stretched the ratio just like lcd monitors do.

on a normal tv (fatscreen) it looks nice cause of the fact that its made for the SD-signal that was made at the same time as the fatscreen revolutionized the world..

he wanted LFS in HD.. doesnt say anything about a TV.. period.

stretched the ratio? If it is a flatscreen with 640x480, will it still look crap as u just stated?

Quote from dadge :before HD became available, the standard resolution on all telivisions was 640x480.

Just noticed.. WHEN were 640x480 a STANDARD ress in TV's? :S

Quote from dadge :why do you have to tell people to shut the f*ck up? this is not the best way to open a post. the conversation is flowing nicely in this thread so if you could, watch your language.
getting back to your post, F1 didn't die when prost left. that's correct. but you forgot to mention that F1 evolved since then and has also been developed.
i don't know how you can compare a top class motorsport (real life) to a £24 simulator. nobody said that dead LFS= end of the world. this thread is more about inactive users= dead product.
thinking about it, your post was nothing more than spam.

He didnt "open" the post with saying "STFU".. it was at the last sentence of the post

And yes, LFS is "dying"..

So what u mean by this is that u can get me a video in 480i that is JUST AS CLEAR as a video in 1080p?

And what does a TV have to do with LFS? Sure ???x480 is enough for a SD signal to the analog TV, but feed a Digital (flat) TV with SD-signal and it looks rather ugly (most of the time ofc)..

First off i just need to say this: I have NEVER seen an AGP-card that needs external power :O

Second: How did it work out for u? =) a 400w psu should be more than enough for that card, if im not mistaken.. i have a 520w and powers an overclocked c2d w/ gtx260..

what im saying is this: that comp CANT need more than that, so it really have to be a faulty component (either psu or gfxcard), tho i really hope u get it to work mate

Quote from Bose321 :I meant to say, that 360p/480p also is HD, but really small, or isn't it.

Naah, i dont think we are "allowed" to call 360/480p for HD, as the quality is rather low.. i think it is SD in that ress..

Quote from logitekg25 :what are all the resolutions for hd?
so theres 1080p (whats 1080i?)
720p (whats 720i?)

but what does the I and P mean? what are the actual resolutions?

I = Interlaced, half the image at the time is updated..
P = Progressive, whole image at once

Quote from JasonJ :G25 about 15 months old. My accelerator started spiking about 2 weeks ago. Input jumped around profusely when applying about 2% throttle and even twitched when not being pressed at all.

Needless to say, became useless for gaming.

Removed the pedal case (easy to do and there are youtube vids to explain how to do it). Then I sprayed a touch of electrical contact cleaner ($10) into the potentiometer slots and give the pedal a good wiggle. All sorted now.

I wouldn't suggest using WD-40; some plastics will soften when exposed to that lubricant.

I had the same problem with my pedals a couple of months ago.

Took them apart and removed all dust and cathair, then sprayed them ALOT with 5-56 (same thing as wd40 tbh, but doesnt do anything to plastic). Now they work like new

Major bump, as it something that i find really useful!

Maybe not when racing, but when cruising.

For example; when im on a cruise-server, i drive as much as i can in a row, i.e. i try to cover as much distance as possible without disconnecting. And when im parked over the night, i strangely enough, almost ALWAYS have a wrecked car when i get back to the game in the morning. And it would be nice to save the replay to check who it was that hit me. And as the server i drive on has a report feature on the forum where they like to see the replay, it really sucks that i have to disconnect from the game after every single saved replay, just so that i can save it again next time i need to show them something.

Quote from mxpxun :LFS needs to remove this thing from any gear shifting to R, in real car thats impossible while u are moving forward if u try to shift you will hear cranking sound and that's all, you wold be able to shift to R if u are not moving or u blocked your front wheels if your car is FWD and rear wheels if it is RWD.

Not true at all, the Volvo 850 had syncrorings on the Reverse also, so eventho u were moving forward u could put it in Reverse..

Quote from anik360 :EDIT: Oh and one more thing if anyone brings a q about sli here; 512+512 does not = 1024. SLI and also CFX uses the vid mem. of ONE gpu, no additive thing going on here.

If I'm not mistaken, SLI/CF uses the memory from BOTH cards, but just to write/read faster? Almost as using RAID, if u know how i mean.. Thats how i, if i remember it correct, think it is.. =)

Quote from lukelfs :Well at 1V and 1500 it crashed after a few minutes on prime95, does that mean I need more voltage? it only got to 50/57C which isnt very hot,

I put it back to stock volts and 1400 for now, till I get sufficient cooling

If its stable in windows and apps and such, then try it in a demanding game. i ALMOST never use prime to check my oc's, i try it with games and that sort of things

And about the voltage i have no idea, i have NEVER increased my volt on the cpu. THAT'S one part of oc'ing i hate :P if i ever get watercooling i might change the volt and try to get closer to 5gigz..

EDIT: Gz btw, with ur first ( i suppose? *spelling*) overclocking

Well i have an E8500 which stock is 3.16GHz, i have it running at 4.3GHz with no probs. Stable and all and i havent even changed the Voltage yet

The way i went was:
  1. Up the FSB to an insanely high number (for me it was 470), tho i knew it wouldnt start (and a too high FSB cant hurt the proc).
  2. After i started the comp at that FSB (didnt start tho duuh), i continued to lower the FSB by increments of 10 until it started and went into windows stable.
  3. Rebooted and RAISED the FSB by 1 or 2 at the time and checked the highest possible FSB.
  4. After that its just a mather of getting the right FSB:RAM ratio, as i only have 800MHz RAM it wont go over 921 or 931MHz :P
So tbh its mostly trial and error all the way xD Got it up to 4.5MHz without Voltage raise, but didnt stay stable for more than 4 mins..

as we're anyhow talking about idletemps all of a sudden xD
my goddamn gtx260 idle at 50°c.. beat that sucker! :O
It blows out REALLY hot air, compared to the ambient.. which sucks, as i have a big mofo 120mm UNDER the gfx-fan and also a 240mm fan blowing the card sideways..

(if u wonder i have a HAF932) and i cant understand how this can be.. sure, when i open the door to let some of the cooler (10°c) air in, the temp goes down.. but still.. odd tbh..

Quote from Bass-Driver :ye i think so

but i think the default fanspeed is differend for each geforce card
because the gt120 is faster and produce more heat so the default fanspeed is higher than the default fanspeed of my 8800gs

also the fans and coolers become better for each generation, so might not have to spin faster to cool a hotter card
