Picked up Spintires for 10 bucks. It's technically very impressive. Looks great and softy body physics and road deformation are high quality.
It's crying out for business elements to be integrated to it, so you can run your own logging transport or vehicle recovery business.
Well worth $10 anyway...
The AI isn't great, but not worse than anything else I've played.
Either way, I find things playable with the AI. Usually just give myself some extra fuel and some set-up penalties to make things more challenging.
Reckon a championship creator would be a relatively quick way of adding a lot of replay value for 'single player' players.
I saw that Assetto Corsa now supports custom championships where you can create a folder structure and configuration files to make your own championship.
Personally, I'd love to see this implemented in LFS. I'm a big fan who only plays occasionally offline these days.
I'd like to know what the devs thoughts are, and if other single player LFSers (and I know there are lots of you out there) would like it.
I hadn't played AC for a long while, and I have to say version 1.0 is a massive improvement over previous versions in terms of graphics optimisation and physics. The first time I've really enjoyed driving it to be honest.
Hopefully they'll work on how the cars collide with the environment next, and get rid of the invisible walls on the hill climb.
While I don't necessarily disagree with you re the tyre physics, I haven't detected this level of arrogance with the devs. The guy who creates the vehicles (Gabester?) can be outspoken at times, but that's not always a bad thing. The other guys seem pretty friendly and responsive to the community. And don't forget BeamNG is relatively early in it's development...
Fantastic to hear.
I'm really looking forward to the new tyres, but content would more than fill the void.
Hopefully 'content' means new tracks, cars and updates existing tracks and cars?
I concur.
Hands up who likes this turning of a new leaf, with more open and frequent communications?
It feels like the next era of LFS is finally beginning, which is a good thing.
Good (and somewhat relieving) to see some activity here. :-)
I'm hanging out for the progress report more than the patch to be honest. Anyone else?
Hopefully it will have at least indicative time frames on the content and physics updates.
Nobody is saying that, but denying that LFS needs an update is the real facepalm. It badly, badly needs one. The fact that it's forums are even still visited is a miracle in itself, and a speaks volumes to what the game means to so many people (myself included).
On topic, I have no reason not to believe that they guys are still developing it. Exactly why it has taken so long is truly one of the great mysteries of The Internet. And the lack of communication is frankly disappointing.
