Quote from Linsen :I think it's a good idea to put emphasis on the "slower" cars (UF1, XFG, XRG). And the TBO class should be included as well.

A couple of races in XFR and UFR would also be nice.

As for the big GTR's, I think one event in those would be cool. Of course they require a little more skill, but with a long enough ahead notice, evereybody could practice enough to be able to race relatively clean.

Also, I would like to race the FOX at least once. It's not that hard to handle but great grippy fun.

I think that's all I want

could live with a selection like this - it would bring out the special status of the OLFSL and for the top racers who probably all run in GTR/formula leagues as well, it would be some extra variety to their other league races

i would leave out the FO8'S completely. there are tons of leagues focussing on the fast cars and most public servers run FO8 or GTR races.

while more inexperienced drivers might be able to control the GTR class (with taking the FXO and a stable setup) there will probably chaos in all pools from 3 downwards, if the FO8 is run

i'd also like to see some 'classic' races - like MRT/SO1 or TBO/FE2 not just the S2 cars

Quote from Hoellsen :You could also just do that in S2 mode and just disallow the FO8, ever thought of that?

yes - and i did it before - but except for the UF1, all cars are S1 content

and if we use the fact. that you don'T have to buy S2 if you own S1 and still get the new features to promote LfS, then we should at least keep the S1 part of the game playable - which isn'T the case at the moment. the last 3 or 4 times i took a look at the S1 mode, there weren't any public servers available, just some eastern european private servers (russia and hungary)

that's why i think we shouldn't forget the S1 drivers - or we should get rid of the possibility to buy S1 licenses

the way it is right now, S1 is dead

i do host in S1 mode from time to time, allowing all cars up to the LX4 with FE1/FE2, BL1/BL2, SO1/SO2 allowed - those were the tracks, i had the most fun in quick races

so if some of you want to race some road cars that won'T be ruined by the FO8 people joining, do check the S1 mode from time to time as well

(not running at the moment though)

ever tried the teams database on LfS world?

there's a 'can apply' field in every team profile and a flag for the nation, where the team is based. i bet there are quite a few teams (some even pretty well known) that still have some places open for new members

the german lfs-forum does - and that's where most of the members of lfs-status come from

they are working on including other features as well - could turn into something pretty interesting.

yes you have to register, but it's free

there are 20 (?) premade designs for these banners but you can also create team banners for your race team on your own, as long as it's in the right format

since there's a little 'S2 licensed' showing, i doubt it's something illegal like the 'offline patch' - more likely some mods like night-mod, changed textures and so on. maybe some S1 mods that aren't S2 compatible...

so i guess nothing to be really worried about - maybe just not the best way to describe the 'addons'

i'm still waiting for someone with demo driver status to report the bug that the cracked version of his LfS doesn't work online - would be my nominee for the idiot of the year award

hm like it as well - but i trusted you guys to bring out something great when i pre-ordered the german manual at 4players ages ago, so i'm not very surprised here

i'd take a look at the listed leagues though - since there are national leagues in some other contries as well (all featured on the news-homepage - for example spain, italy, the netherlands, czech republic...) and since ace pot the oval office project on hold for a while - maybe adding the masters of endurance instead of the oval office series would be useful

also (probably due to the release date) i'm missing the lfs spectator tool in the manual a bit - but i'm pretty sure it'll be included with the next update, since the manual is (much like LfS) still WIP

thank you very much. (again)

that'S what a forum is for. helping others and getting some information/help when needed - so no need to say thank you

not sure about the pit finish as well

but about the track changing, there's a helpful tool called race manager, which changes tracks automatically - you can either use a fixed change scheme or make random changes - and it doesn't only change tracks, it lets you also configure different car classes and race length for every track shift...

take a look in the tools and addons section for more about race manager. it'S very helpful when setting up your own server

well actually you do see it on every server before you join in the serverlist - and have plenty of time to think about pit strategy after that..

but i agree - some more visible info would be fine indeed.

i have to check it when i get home, what info there exactly is in the F12 menue when driving online...

i think (not sure though, because i can't check it in the office) you also get a note when pressing F12 - try joining a server with required pitting, press F12 and then join another without and press F12.. if i remember correctly, in race mode, there'S a note

Quote from Pabs(Sco) :I personally do not like logo2, 6 OLFS in 6 boxes is not something I would like on a t-shirt, mug, mousepad etc.....

It is very well done and credit to the creator, logo1 works best, imo, for any item its plain and simple and cheap to manufacture too :P

Sure logo 2 is good for the web but I think thats it.

well i'm not tweak but for me it was 6 design/color combinations as a suggestion - i do not see the 6 as one complete logo but as 6 different versions of tweaks logo idea - different backgrounds, some with text underneath the letters, some without, so it's actually not logo 2 - it's 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 until 2.6 here

@tweak

correct me if i'm wrong here

i think the professionalism of design 2 would look great on a t-shirt, mousepad, other merchandise.. because when i actually spend money on something, it HAS to be professional.

your objections with the league are understandable, since it's a league open for amateurs, newcomers, part-time racers and so on.

i'd still prefer logo 2 - nobody said that you can't look professional even if you're not

logo 2

although i'd take only one of the suggestions in logo2 - the bottom left one looks perfect for me

the mini car in logo 1 is also kind of interesting - so i would love to see a combination of the car from logo 1 and the bottom left logo in number 2

depends on how long they banned you - if they didn't use a timed ban, you should be able to race there again, if they used a timed ban, you probably won't be able anytime soon...

from what i found in their forum, i'm pretty sure that you can start searching for a new server - they have numerous threads about 'cleaning their server' and where they advise all their members to ban 'unwanted' drivers - sounds a bit like some powerhappy admins to me - definetly not the kind of environment i'd want to race in

sounds interesting - because some others had positive replies on the real track inquiries - but it all failed because of the missing data... at least that'S what you can hear in other LfS forums - so i don't know if it'S true or only hearsay

if you can provide the complete track data and the official license of an interesting track, i'm quite sure there will be some interest there - maybe not for a sudden LfS version but for inclusion into S3 or a track pack later on...

what exactly was the reason they gave you for having no interest in the track and what track are you talking about?

Quote from M.Mos :I did something simmilar already. I offered the devs a offical free license for a real track. But they just dont want it.

well a license alone doesn't create a real track. how about all the needed data, where'S which bump, which elevation, exact radius of the turns...

if you create a fantasy track, the result can be perfect without any of this information, since there'S no one able to compare. but creating a 'real' track which isn't identical with the original track is in my eyes not worth the work and time.
maybe most of the people would never notice, because they never drive on the real one and compare, but who knows the track will know if there'S something wrong with the game-version

and if i do not know the track, it really isn't much of a difference if it's fictional or real...

if someone would supply all the needed data together with the license, i bet the devs wouldn't have many objections against a real track in LfS - the license alone just wouldn't be enough

the 4th thread active in the last 2 days regarding the same problem

judging by the number of threads, the number of posts and the way most complaints are written, 60-70% of the licensed S2 drivers seem to be wreckers...

i wonder if i have a different LfS installed on my system, since i come across a wrecker once in a while and they are really stupid, but i wouldn't even start seeing them as a problem because the number of clean racers/clean servers is much higher than the ones who are wreckers or where wreckers ruin the races...

and if you want to get rid of nwebies - go join a league and race on private servers. there won't be many on league-training servers or private servers, where only experienced racers have the password...

new drivers should be treated with the same respect as experienced ones and if you see 2 guys coming out of the pits in SO1 why did you crash into them in T1? T1 is a place where you shouldn't attempt to overtake, because it doesn't leave a blue flagged driver much space to make room for you - and just because they were a lap or more down, the faster drivers are still responsible to overtake WHEN POSSIBLE and not when there's absolutely no room for any overtaking

by the way - the serverside filter won't stop any wreckers, but i'm also in favour of that, because it allows hosts do create pretty equal fields of drivers without making the server a private one - and equal fields of drivers are more fun for all in the race. a few others and myself suggested that in one of the other 3 threads regarding this topic..

Quote from speedfreak227 :1) I know that drafting works but does the following car lose downforce due to the reduced air pressure?

yes - simple as that...

if you run low downforce, do not attempt to draft in fast turns (especially in the oval)
