yes, this especially sucks if the guy gently pushing you out of the way drives an FXO and you are driving the XRT. no wonder he can pass you easily when accelerating out of the turn.
as I saw the incident, 510N3D was very early on the throttle after he bodychecked Kieran, this resulted in him pushing out Kieran even more, due to understeering out of the hairpin. 510N3D, you should have lifted and let Kieran retake his position. this might be allowed in real life touring cars (similar things happened in DTM and WTCC as well), but this is just for fun and with such moves you are ruining the fun of others.
checking out lfs-news helps to keep track how LFS does in other areas of the world. The AAL was one of the few leagues that kept producing news from time to time even when LFS-news was sort of "dead".
so anyone who hasn't heard/read about Chaz yet, didn't read LFS-news that much, but you can always check out the league archives to catch up.
if you've never heard of Chaz, shame on you. it just shows you either haven't been around long enough, or you don't pay enough attention.
I think I only raced him once or twice back in S1, was funny when I overtook him in the fxo-s on so long and his teammates were like: wtf Chaz? he has an almost "god-like" status amongst aussies there, like he cannot lose, ever. it was a good race, but lag put an end to it unfortunately
there are MOE endurance setups on Inferno setupfield from Ocrana and Thunder as well, N1lyn and Norbi respectively. Although they are for Aston GT I believe, but there can't be that much wrong with those sets for KY2 either.
no offence, but the wrecking was because you were using the wrong lines and drove carelessly without looking, so it is mainly a driving issue and not the setup. believe me there are more ppl could have made the turns with that WIP setup, than those who couldn't.
also why didn't you invest more time in learning the track and putting on a decent driving for the video, it looks like you recorded your first attempt, like your first ever lap on that track.
it's like you think well, why make an effort to make a decent video with some good driving, this will also be good enough for those at lfsforums, so who cares. so for me, your video doesn't really gets through with a good message.
hah, just saw the end "credits", in member of SChumacher? Niki either learn proper english (at least google the expression) or just stop writing at all, especially BS
to be honest I wouldn'T go with that motherboard as it only supports up to 533 mhz ddr2 memory and it is VIA chipset based. I guess it is very cheap, but if you want a decent MB with potential to overclock you should go with the ASUS P5B series. it is up to you to decide how much fits into your budget, but depending on your needs you'll be better off with any model out of the P5B series. the basic p5b model is quite cheap as well and performance wise it is right up there with the more expensive models, however it is missing out on the accessory side and like less SATA ports? no firewire and so on, just check out the specifications on the ASUS homepage for the various boards and see what you need.
Also buying 800mhz ddr2 memory would be wiser, as the price is not that much higher and again you have more potential for OC or future upgrades and you can run CPU and memory in asynchronous
(spelling? word exists? )mode, which can give you a fair bit of performance boost if you use it at 800 mhz instead of 667.
about the videocards. from the Nvidia side I would only recommend the new 8800 series as the cards before didn't have a good AA/AF quality, therefore the ATI cards produced a better (sharper - for me) image quality when AA and AF were used. If you want a decent DX9 card, you could select from the ATI cards as well, the x1900 XT with 256 MB is an excellent choice, but the x1950pro would also rock and is cheaper.
edit: definitely the e6300 instead of the x2 4200 AMD. Also try to squeeze in 2x1gb-s of memory, or 2x512mb to take advantage of dual channel mode.
yes, this sucks, really. i was wondering why I was doing 2-3 tenths slower in the 1st split than the wr splits and I checked and noticed that everyone with a decent 1st split cuts off the exit of the chicane.
I did it a couple of times too, to see the effect, though it didn't bring me that much as I didn't have a good exit from the hairpin either.
I'd like to have that curb high enough to throw the car out of shape when going over it, it would discourage people from cutting
well I was driving this car in the stcc for a couple of months now and I disagree with your point. if you are pushing the car hard enough the front tyres overheat about the same amount as the rears, so I would say the tyre overheating is very balanced.
Vykos, this thread is not about the league, this is about the public servers, which don't belong to the league subforum in any way.
It was because of similar posts to Hoellsen and yours that this thread (and the ones before) has included stuff related to the stcc league itself and now you are starting to moan about why it is being discussed here? open a thread about it in the league section then
when there were stcc league related things, like a movie, the broadcast or a qualification event, they were posted in the appropriate forum section. Until we have a general public servers subforum, threads as these will be created in the general LFS discussion section, and they should be in my opinion.
@ your first paragraph: sure, people have to think and take into account the circumstances, not everybody can do that, as it requires thinking and some people just don't know how to do that
@ your question: when I am in the position of a lap behind and catching up to slower drivers I always stick behind until I can make a safe pass without hindering him/her, it is just a mentality question, no way your fault. But if you meet someone who is lapped, faster and close behind, it is much safer to let him go to avoid a possible accident.
you can save multiplayer replays when you press "2", or did you mean when you are not IN the server? in this case the answer is no
the reason for this might be that they are not experienced in public racing. They are used to driving in leagues against guys with similar pace, who won't take a corner unexpectedly slow.
no, I am not defending them. I enjoy racing on public servers, though usually I am able to pull away up front once I got there and if no accidents happen or no alien is there, but I really enjoy the process of getting to the front when I have a lower place on the grid.
Anticipation is very important on public servers, I always expect the worse from fellow racers unknown to me, this makes me extra cautious, leaving enough space in the turns and braking earlier than usual when close behind someone. in the end I either had a good race, or everyone had an accident or made a mistake and I end up winning
you are just being paranoid, I have never seen anything on the servers where a driver was punished despite not doing anything wrong. if it was a mistake ban, it has been rectified later after a discussion.
and you know, this isn't something that necessarily has to please you, you can go to other public servers if you don't like it, this is not something you have payed for and has to meet your needs and expectations (people seem to forget about this), there is no place for complaints, just suggestions, in a decent manner.
for me the silver and gold server has achieved a more competitive field, populated by the cars I want to race and as a side effect it is also free of noobs, who always manage to ruin the race in T1. there are some overambitious drivers still, but you can deal with them if you are careful enough. so I am all satisfied.
I was talking about clean racers, who give you just enough room to have a fun race, I could name 50 if I had to and I am not that much online either, except for the past weeks to get my platinum on stcc
anyways what you are describing are fast guys, it doesn't need to be a fast guy to have racecraft! also, most of the aliens lack racecraft due to the simple fact that they are just pulling away and have no challenge, so they don'T have that much experience in such situations.
i would say racecraft also has to do with your behaviour, whatever the circumstances, I could hardly say he has racecraft, when he wrecks intentionally. but that's from the past, I am sure he wishes now that it had never happened in the first place...and probably he has never done it since, but one bad day can just change everything.
that's only because you haven't raced with a lot of other people, and by the way, listing arrechee there must be a mistake. calling someone smart who after disconnecting rejoins the at that time most prominent league race and tries to ram off some other drivers in the race, sounds a bit...strange to say the least.
I had some bad moves in the past, but I never wrecked anyone intentionally ,and now the only thing I am aiming for on the race track is a clean pass and a good battle.
