speaking of "gang", i just turned 5 normal people (good friends of mine) into lovers of lfs, now we hangout almost everynight racing XFG's or FBM's on the BLGP track (but still I SHOW THEM WHOS DA MAN) but its fun, trying to be polite and not crashing at nub friends while there at your tail trying to make you eat grass... 3 of them arealsy saving to buy it.

Stefani said it all...
LFS has nice mouse steerig options, and its online mode makes all the other online modes look like single player...

And yes, mouse steering is completely viable in this game, as Stefani said, there are even WRs made with the mouse.

what are you asking here? hows lfs online or are you asking for a comparison of lfs and the other sims based on funfactor, online gameplay that plays on a mouse? if thats it, stick with LFS (but i think for mouse steering i just feel GTR2 to be somewhat better, never found out why)...
NOTE:I just think simply that lfs is the best at online mode (and physics personally)

I consider it an exploit. not as heavy as a cheat but it wouldnt feel nice if i knew the only reason i lose to that guy is because he does this.
I just think its wrong, and if i had a G25, i would do everything possible manual, even if it requires me to re-learn some stuff or slow my laptimes (they arent that great anyway). Damn i paid for clutch pedal an H- shifter. and it feels cooler and more realistic.

You said its because it uses an external program, but is that program made entirelly JUST for cheating? i dont think the logitech programmers did this just so you can win easier... thats why i dont consider it a cheat myself. It feels kinda nice knowing that he used the cheat to win. That means he sucks.Hard.

Hey I_MAXIBON, im very itenterested in the way you did it... i mean, 1-did you used an old joystick? 2-if not, did you do the programing? 3- if yes, what one? im interested in doing something like this, thanks!

Sorry that was kinda OT but curiosity is eating me alive.

Im actually learning alot from these "How To"s Becky, there should be a compilation soon!

EDIT: yeah i was ignorant, now i could understand the third part better. (thats because im a mouse driver at the moment, so (for me) either the brake is ON, or OFF... lol)

Mostly the same as the OP. i take it easy on T1 and let ppl pass if they want. then ill start to give it all, but the difference is that ill not ease untill i get first. witch never happens. never. untill. now.

Yeah, its more noticeable in laptops, they make a missile sound, scares me. but yeah LFS is cpu fintensive so he plays better the more hertz you got.

EDIT: intensive, not friendly, thanks Gabkicks.

Yes we really need a rally car. maybe a pimped up version of the RB4 with about 280 horse power, rally oriented setup?

Quote :Licensed demo racers system :

Demo racers now need a user name and GAME password to go online
Unified List of Hosts - S2 users can all Demo / S1 / S2 hosts
Demo / S1 racers can see all hosts running Demo / S1 content
Demo racers now automatically download skins but not upload

Shouldn't it be "S2 users can see all Demo / S1 / S2 hosts"?
Heh.

But anyway, amazing patch (as always)!! I'm just being picky.

Quote :Most probably still S2 Alpha.
But I don't know what the patch will be called, when it will be released or what it will contain.
I could guess but I won't.

Maybe S2 Alpha 0.6?
S2 Alpha ZA?
S2 Alpha Beta? Betacarothen? Gama? Ypsilon? Omega Delta Abracadabra Super Duper Uber Master almost-there S2 Alpha? woo hoo

BTW amazing work Eric. The new interiors are soo cool i think it will be difficult to find a new texture replacement..
The gear lever has real reflection or is it already on the texture? damn it looks soo perfect.

I think i understood Knght_Atack and i agree with him.
LFS will never become a NFS (that i can be sure of, dont come with that never say never stuff) BUT you know, visual modifications that are small and affect performance in a positive way (like a wing to trade of speed for stability) that i agree.

Maybe thats because the MPR saves the car positions related to the server? so the server saw that YOUR car was hit by the tires maybe?

thats my guess

Yay for pack!
nice one Gills

Do that Gills, look at this way.
1> this is not your thread, its justa request thread.
2> you have done alot of work there, so creating a new thread is basically, from my point of view, creating your ''workshop'' (as said before) for your releases and packs. that way noone will need to search the engine sound sharing for new sounds, since the thread starter form this thread is no more updating the first porst with links to new sounds (but that has explanation: this thread is having a lot of movement, so it gets annoying to update this thread every day with five or more sounds each)

my opinion: PM a mod for sure, and (if green light == true) go for it.

Quote from Tomba(FIN) :It doesn't have any options itself.. Just wondering is there any program or mod that could inverse the ffb

For FFB, not that i know... ill take a look and see what i can find.
EDIT: cant find any.

Did it started happening a while ago or your wheel already had this FFB setting?
If (started happening a while ago == true)
then
reinstall drivers;
else
i dont know;

Quote from Tomba(FIN) :Well I have another problem, my forcefeedback is forcing the wheel in wrong side, if it oversteers on right, it turns the wheel on right..

I have joytech nitro triforce.. Can someone help?

Does that wheel you got has a FFB setup option by istself? (not the lfs one)
i think either you set the FFB to be inverse OR the driver is somewhat corrupted. If that already happened when you bought the wheel... then do what samforey said. Else try to set up again or reinstall drivers.

Quote from Karl Morytz :And what about personal feelings?

Well if that makes you driver better, then do the way you think is best for you.
Set it up the way you think its right man, otherwise there wouldnt be profilers and config programs for FFB =)

Quote from Mazz4200 :1) Ai4 in the MRT mysteriously stopped on track on lap 12 when i wasn't looking (before a scheduled pitstop). His car/tyres and fuel levels were all ok.....guess he just had enough

2) However, poor old Ai20 in the XRT had an utterly miserable time of it. He must have had a big shunt somewhere in the opening laps, burst a tyre and wrecked the rear suspension. He tried to pit the next lap, but couldn't hit his pit box correctly, stopping inbetween 2 pit markings, but never quite far enough to make it into either. So he never managed to refuel or have the damage repaired. He tried to pit every single lap, but with the same result. At the end of the race the official results said he didn't make any pitstops at all (although by my reckoning he came into the pits 40-odd times). Then to cap it all, at the end of the race on the slowdown lap, he came into the pit lane, tried to turn into his garage, missed it, so had to turn away, and ended up parked at the end of the pitlane with less than 2% fuel left

Oh my god the way you wrote it laughed HARD... poor Ai20...
I just started putting 12ai on Aston Historic to see what theyre up to..
EDIT for some reason my PC rebooted in the middle of LFS. but i dont think its a lfs issue. my HD is terminal...

Oh my god, Gills is on fire :bananadea !!!
nice work man, isee maybe somewhere in the future your packs inside the default installation xD

While we are here, Gills could you please a supra mk3 sound for the XRG Turbo?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tP6WtUfAGgQ
Thanks in advance
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v ... mnIBY&feature=related
this last sound, in the middle of it, you can hear the car sound on high revs. if possible, make the sound more like this one, but using the one as a base on low revs? (yeah im very specific and perfectionist on this one)

I dont have a logitech. but i read somewhere on the forums that (i think theres a link in Jakg's sig) that says that the FFB only starts to work fine with a value of 101-105 or so.

Quote from Astro [ BJRL ] :I noticed that it seems like the 'transponder' is positioned at BACK of the cars. Often I've experienced I thought I'd finished, but had not because the whole car had not passed the line.
I can even park my car with front part over the Finish line - and not be registered as finished race ???
Not that it matters in this case, tho' !

Its called lag
but if you said you stopped the car half way on the finish line and nothing happened, then i dont know.

Quote from shashdev :Oh, I didn't know that happenned in real life (get permit in 11 days!!!). I think it would actually be easier if the real life cars did NOT do the counter-steer automatically, but I can't drive yet, so....

Well, there ARE cars with Hydraulic steering (i thing thats how they call it in english) that makes the wheel very light. i have driven a Mercedes Class A, and while easier to turn, it is fatal at high speeds, where even non-smoth small movements can make the car act alittle aggresive.

belive me. force feedback is here to stay.
