Quote :A professionally fabricated wide body chassis, finished in white metal primer. Front wishbone suspension is rose jointed and designed for inboard coilovers (coilovers not supplied - see my other auctions). Rear axle is a Ford Atlas, fitted with halfshafts but no differential or brakes and five link located using rose joints. Axle has brake caliper mounting plates fitted. Axle and suspension components finished in Hammerite. Front hubs are ex Ford Cortina Mk 4 with new bearings and brake discs. Ford Escort quick ratio (2:1) steering rack fitted. Fuel tank included and set of Sierra brake calipers and Ford brake drums and back plates that require overhaul. The chassis is designed to accommodate the Ford Crossflow engine which will sit well back in the chassis to improve balance and handling - near and offside mountings included. Mounted pedal box with brake bias bar fitted. Super light 'minilite' type alloy wheels size 13" x 8JJ fitted with Michelin and Dunlop tyres (lacquer flaking in places but otherwise very good condition). Buyer to collect

£750

I have been looking into it & have found it could run into thousands once i have added all the parts i will need.
Anyone have experience of building a kit car? (i wont need to sva it for competition use, trackdays may be a different matter)

Should i go for it or not? It is a locost chassis not a Westfield or Caterham.

Did you know that most of the Redditch run off ends up in the river Arrow.
The Arrow flows through/past many of our fields & is constantly eroding them.

I cant believe your lane flooded & all we had was a few puddles. Im only 3 miles away, although a lot of Redditch is quite a bit higher than here.
The river seems fine today.

way to go iRacing......

I am trying to get my psp to work as an extra screen on my pc. Stupidly i upgraded it to 6.1 firmware & cant get it to run psp display software.
I have tried finding an app that will allow my psp to run homebrew but have had no luck.

Anyone done this before?

Quote from JohnPenn :Not so happy about the down time the sim experiences, this is the third time in 2 weeks, and TBO not a great fan of the web based structure for starting the sim, very clunky and slow,I seem to spend so much time just waiting for the web page to refresh.

I couldn't agree more, i hate the way you must load the web page before you can use the software. It's such a complex front page it can take a while too.

I dig it

I dig it too.
Might be tempted to find a cheapo monitor so i can finally use a HUD with split times. (the old thud never worked for me as i had softth)

Will Tristan be tempted over to the dark side? Find in tomorrows edition of 'LFS forum'.

Quote from Gnomie :Hm.. I'm sure I read somewhere that the new cars have the new tyre physics too, but of course I can't remember where.. so I could be wrong about that!

Does anyone else know?

As far as i was aware the Mazda was the only car to have the new tyre/downforce physics. I can see what Dave is getting @ with the rfactor feel to the Vette, it maybe setup based or something we haven't figured out yet, but i dont think its quite as bad as rfactor.

Having said that i hope they put some effort into getting it to feel right.

Quote from count.bazley :The Germans hosted a really great 45 minute Skip Barber race at Road America last night.

Darn it, i missed that one. Skip races on the bigger tracks are a hoot.

@ spanks : tbh its not that good when your sat in a mazda doing 44mph around watkins. They need to introduce server side pace car speed settings me thinks.
Ecclestone: Donington hopes are over

Quote :formula 1 supremo bernie ecclestone has confirmed donington's hopes of hosting the british grand prix next year are over after the circuit failed to raise the funds to complete its redevelopment plans.
Donington had until last monday to sort the financial situation, having failed to raise a £135 million bond last week.
"there's no donington. They've missed the deadline which we kept extending for them," ecclestone told reporters in abu dhabi.
"it's unfortunate for them, to be honest with you. It was the credit crunch that caused them to be in trouble because their intentions were good, that's for sure.
"it's bad for tom (wheatcroft) because he's been an old friend for a long time."
ecclestone insisted he is still in talks with silverstone to reach a deal for the 2010 race and suggested the ball was on the british track's court.
"we're talking. A deal can be done if they want to," he said, adding there were no differences of opinion over contract details.
"there isn't actually. As far as i'm concerned, no problems."
the f1 boss also praised abu dhabi officials for their work with the state-of-the-art yas marina circuit that is hosting its first race this weekend.
"what they've done is unbelievable. It was in april 2006 i saw and spoke to the crown prince, and at that time we didn't start to discuss a race.
"but during dinner we came up with the idea that maybe we should have a race here, and it's magic what they've done.
"i never thought it would be finished like this. I thought bits and pieces would be done. I said to them 'i hope we're not going to be racing on a building site.'
"but no one is going to top this... Although i'll be happy if someone does the same."

Quote from Mysho :well, thats sure thing, and i'd also love to actually drive with real car on real track using the best simulator there is.

Well Mysho you may as well try iRacing as well as LFS as they only have real tracks & real cars. $5 for a trial is pretty reasonable. (dont get sucked in tho everything else is very expensive)
