Quote from senn :Consider sport mode is on all the time. If you want it with less power, add a restrictor + turn traction control on.

Yes senn, it seems as a different solution. On the other hand FZ5 should be more popular by this way. Audi and Lamborghini super car cases are another examples.
Sport Button on FZ5

FZ5 is a very similar model to super road cars class such as Porsche. Many super road cars have "sport button" for performance and agressive pilotage. Maybe this option would be an addition to FZ5.

Just think about the Porsche 911 Carrera 4/4S. Although they are 4x4 models; could easily switch to RWD system via pushing a sport button. Off course traction control will be off and revs will boost up in sport mode.

I think a 4x4 FZ5 with sport button should cover all driver needs. Pure racing with RWD and more power in sport mode, plus more controllable car in normal driving by 4x4 WD system.

Equalizer for Engine Sound (in Shift+A)

I'm just thinking about engine sound randomization although we have a wide variety of inputs in Shift+A mode. Could Equalizer be effective therein?

Quote from tomylee :I thought that LFS is for racing!!!!!!! Who the heck cares about the stupid names of the track's?????? The developers must be so bored of you people

Another internet anomaly. I can't help you about that your racing vision is smaller than "Car park area". And don't make stupid assumptions in the name of the devs.

Quote from oscar_nicero :Fern Bay is located in Jamaica

I didn't know that. After a quick search, I've found that Fern Bay location is in Australia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fern_Bay,_New_South_Wales

Quote from DieKolkrabe :Why not have an English and a native language name for the track

Like Suzuka and how it is written in Japanese

I'm not sure. I think, Japanese script is useful for visual effects.
Virtual Track names in other languages
ADX.14

I evaluate LFS as a worldwide racing enviroment. Thus, if there will be additional virtual tracks; track names should be chosen in different languages such as "Kyoto Ring".

The track names we have as now: Blackwood, Aston, Fern Bay, South City, Westhill are in English and Kyoto in Japanese.

And we will get a real track that named "Rockingham" also in English.

Just think about Le Mans, Monaco, Interlagos, Monza, Nürburgring - Nordschleife...

I think it's obvious. At least one French, one German, and one Italian origined track name will enrich LFS. I've opened this thread herein as a general discussion, although referring to improvement suggestion.
Mini Bug

I've found a mini bug in replays/test drive. Headlights, taillights, and flashes don't work in that case. Shadowww's test replay made me realized this. http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=1220552#post1220552

Quote from MAGGOT :Magician with one trick. Looks identical to the Challenger in your avatar; both of which have all the aerodynamic capabilities of a brick.

There is no trick MAGGOT, because he is designer of both two ones. See for the typical style: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=1018950#post1018950 and http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=1150997#post1150997

BTW, the aerodynamic issue is more complex than the car shape. Look at this datasheet: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A ... pical_values_and_examples

You can compare the tables and photo samples below the page. There are too much surprises therein.

+1. On the other hand, it's a hard decision giving a brand name to the cars. If there will be suggestion poll, the period should be open-ended.

Technically, giving name requires brand name logos individually on DDS files. This will cause a turmoil among the logoed past skins and new logoed ones. The solution comes from IL2 Sturmovik via marking on/off option.

i.e. My suggestion is AETHON for FZ cars. A horse logo will be fitted. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aethon

Quote from TerryGringo :Sir,
Am not attacking am just lookng at this program in a cost analysis trend.
Asked a straight forward question with some unfortunate trends from other programs.

In closing I did get a great response with the direction this program is taking. Just hope to be around to enjoy more of the LFS Simulations.

Hi TerryGringo. I reread my sentence, and realized that I forgot the attack direction. The proper statement had to be as "Please log out before starting attacks to you". "Please" and smiley show my intent. If you check out my posts, you will see.

On the other hand, I assure you that my reply might be cutting "real attacks to you".

I'm glad to see you've chosen the right decision via selecting LFS.

Welcome to LFS and have fun.
ABS and TC Dials On/Off Confusion
ADX.14
S2 licensed
Traction control (TC) and ABS dials seems to me working inversely.

Some examples:

Headlights and stoplights are active: Dial on

Handbrake is active: Dial on

Pit Limiter is active: Dial on

Turn signals are active: Dial blinking

TC is active: Dial off, only blinking in action

ABS is active: Dial off, only blinking in action

My suggestion:

1- TC and ABS dials should be on when they are active.
2- TC and ABS dials should blink during the action.

Quote from geeman1 :What do you mean? You can increase the FOV in the default in car view too, and by doing that the dials don't become blocked.

No, on the contrary I don't select default car view. Instead of this, I prefer steer look function with body draw. That's why dashboard is blocked.

Additionally, every change causes this issue. That's the starting point.

Quote from geeman1 : It's also seems to be your custom views fault that the dials are behind the wheel that badly. In the default in car view the dials are almost fully visible (the wheel is only slightly in the way in some cars). So instead of requesting wheel offset settings, you should change your own view settings.

You are right, the default settings doesn't block dashboard. But in the name of seeing dashboard completely, I must sacrify almost half of the FOV.

Quote from geeman1 :You don't need a setting for the wheel offset. There is only one place you would want it, which is out of the way of the dials. I can't see why someone would want it in front of the dials. You don't need to adjust the wheel position for physical reasons like in real life either. The dashboard could maybe be re-designed so that the wheel wouldn't block the dials.

As for moving the mirror upwards: If you set the mirror offsets to 0, the mirror is where it would be in real life. It looks like it's too low, but if you look at it from the outside and/or measure where it is in your real car, it's in the correct position. Moving it up would actually make it go through the windshield.

Thanks geeman1 for comments. ATM, the main point is time consuming. I think, redesigning dashboard takes much more time than offsetting steering wheel. We already have an active mirror offset pattern.

BTW offsetting mirror (or steering wheel suggestion) doesn't change the actual looks. You can observe this in Shift+U mode or TV Cam. The arrows in first picture attached (in my first post) are just related to directions. I'm also adding two ones. Arrows in the last one is an indicator for measuring. So, you will see what I'm saying.

Your edit looks so good. But it seems more than a draw coding because of preventing intersection wheels and tie rod.

Offset options for Steering Wheel

As you see in picture, some areas of Dashboard is not visible. Steering Wheel offset sliding bar as like as mirror offset should be a solution for altering this. While trying to see dashboard according to other options, the total view is affected entirely.
